  1. Where are the “supporters” who called certain players “dumb” and “pathetic” repeatedly throughout the game? Supporters my arze!
  2. Just for you AF. Viney hits Frittata on the [censored]!
  3. Now THAT is why we have Vanders in the team. Impact personified.
  4. Was told by phone 10 minutes ago. The source is generally good.
  5. Max on crutches? Torn PCL suspected? WTF! I knew our good run with injuries would come back and bite us.
  6. Take a couple of his front teeth out and Dunny would fit seamlessly into the Magpie cheer squad with a look like that.
  7. I think Harmes has realised (or has been told) that he is not Dusty Martin MkII. Probably not best 22 now and has always been overrated. This discussion about being played out of position is BS. Modern mid-sized footballers need to be flexible. Skills don’t fall away because of a positional change.
  8. 6. Lever 5. Petracca 4. Oliver 3. Hibberd 2. Brayshaw 1. Langdon
  9. Jeezus LDvC! I checked the definition link and up came a pic of a goddess in pink bikini bottoms fishing! Just as it opened, my wife walked in behInd me. She just gave me “the look” called me a “sad old man” and walked away shaking her head! It is pointless trying to explain it was footy related.
  10. No, however the psychological barriers might. The bloke is trying to come back after serious injury interlaced with personal issues. The pressure on him would be immense. I don’t tolerate soft players but believe Harley should be cut some slack given his history.
  11. Those suggesting Bennell be dropped, bear in mind he has played a handful of games in 3 years and still coming to grips with his confidence after those terrible calf issues. He is the class act in our forward line and should be persisted with. Rested, maybe. Omitted, no.
  12. Seriously, this must run deeper than just what is happening on the field. 12 players don’t just lose their skill set between the end of one season and the start of another. Reeks of “stick it to the coach”.
  13. I hope we smash them. I don’t think my aging heart will take it if it’s close all game with a see-sawing last quarter. I have a bottle of JD ready just in case.
  14. I don’t think TMac is done yet. He played like he was sore last week. If that’s the case, or unless he did something very early in the game, he shouldn’t have played. I reckon Weideman is the most overrated player on the list. He has had several pre-seasons now to bulk up his upper body and strengthen his grip but clearly that hasn’t happened. He gets pushed off the ball and out of position way too easily. He is not physically strong enough to successfully compete with some of the competitions key defenders. Harry Petty has more upside. I notice some guys potting young Jackson. He is going to be very good once he properly adjusts to the tempo of the game and grows in confidence. I would keep banging the games in to him. Oliver pizzes me off with those in close handballs. Rather than handball, I’d prefer to see him just kick the ball, even blindly. Just slam it on the boot. At least that gives us some chance of getting the footy. Those cute little handballs mostly impose more unnecessary pressure upon team mates. Further, he needs a spell out of the midfield. Throw him down forward for half a game. There is no doubting his ball winning ability but that’s all for nought if the subsequent disposal is sh1te.
  15. As people are mentioning trade targets, Corey Lyons is unable to get a look in at Brisbane. I’ve watched him in NEAFL games and he is very good. Melbourne boy. Yeah, he has a brother at the Lions but if he wants to play A Grade, he needs to go back home.
  16. Gone to Freo for sure. Just going through the paces and a shadow of his former self. I'm shattered as I thought he was one of the players to take us to a flag. Y'know, I'm not sure that the players are particularly happy with the coach. Specific body language (I was at the game) told me a bit last night and it didn't seem altogether positive. Gus included.
  17. Kazakhstan would be better.
  18. If you know one, I’ll pay him.
  19. Magnificent morning here in East Brisbane just 600 metres from the Gabba. Blue skies and not a cloud in sight. It has been sunny and breezy the past few days so the conditions should be conducive to good football. I am looking forward to seeing the boys live and up close tonight. If we can bring our best game, Port is certainly beatable. Westhoff is my concern. He seems to save himself for games against us. Harmes to lock down Boak would be good to see. Wishing the young bull Tommy Sparrow all the best. I think we will find that we have unearthed another good one.
  20. I was lucky enough to fluke one ticket through my Queensland Cricketers Club membership. My son missed out and is resorting to various underhanded means to acquire said ticket. I am looking forward to a fine, clear evening and a dry track which suits us better than the wet I feel.
  21. Nope. Don't recall that happening......?
  22. I'd love to see Maxy win it obviously but Neale is going really well, is an umpires favourite and with possibly only Zorko to take votes away from him. Of the others, I think the only danger (based on those listed) is Boak. Rowell is out of contention of course and Toby Greene will probably shoot himself in the foot (or use his foot to shoot himself in the foot....).
  23. So much for that r sole Gerard Healy saying Nev “led with his head”. Clearly McStay “led with his elbow”.
