Welcome to Demonland: James Jordon
Don’t even say that in jest!

A Day at the Races
Oh! Sorry about that. I wasn’t aware rules applied. Just ignore mine.

A Day at the Races
G’day guys. I have a few good bets scattered across the country tomorrow but focusing on the big meeting I will settle on: Flemington Race 6 No. 3 Shillelagh.

A Day at the Races
Keep selecting those leaders at Caulfield binman The winner of the first led and should have been run down but kept them all at bay down the straight.

A Day at the Races
Homesman is the one for me. Should jump to the front on a leaders track and a big weight drop makes it a very good chance.

WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - BRAYDON PREUSS
Braydon has a fair bit of mongrel in him and their are reports that he intimidated the hell out of Goldstein at training! Maybe we should nickname him Carl? I wouldn’t be worried if we rested Maxy a few times during the season and gave Big Carl Preuss a call up. There will also be times during next season when we need to play two ruckmen and I’m looking forward to seeing how that goes.

Farewell Jesse Hogan
Lets now hope Jesse wakes up to himself and puts pen to paper with us. Any inflated ego from being the subject of much discussion has burst big time. Time to settle down and play football with the team that has looked after you through your darkest hours young fella.

Farewell Jesse Hogan
I’d prefer Jack Martin to May. Freakish skills and could kick 50 goals as a permanent forward pocket.

Who are our bottom six? And where do they rate?
Ted Hopkins says g'day.

Farewell Jesse Hogan
Firstly, Brown and Daniher are FF’s. Buddy traditionally plays at CHF. But regardless, game day match ups are horses for courses. Frost to Franklin last week is the perfect example. Jonathan Brown, one of the modern era’s best forwards has been highly critical of Hogan’s positioning and leading methods and it’s hard to disagree with. He can get away with it against the lesser quality defenders but struggles again the better opponents. Perhaps playing at CHB would give him the opportunity to study the techniques of the competitions best key position forwards close up and learn from them. He is big, strong, agile and has a good tank. We are in desperate need of a quality key defender and Jesse could fit the bill until he is more prepared to take up a forward role. It certainly didn’t do David Neitz any harm. In direct contrast to you, I’d rather keep Jesse Hogan and try him at CHB than get another mid. Our current group of midfielders seem to do ok I think....

Farewell Jesse Hogan
JackDeMan makes some very good points. People forget that Jesse was AA CHB as a junior player.

WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - HARRISON PETTY
Mate, you are a legend. You remember the first three performances of a then unknown Carlton kid from 15 years ago and that he showed “heart”? Gimme a break FCS.

WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - HARRISON PETTY
FMD. Bet Carlton are happy they didn't flick Kade Simpson after his first 3 games which were all zero possessions.

A Day at the Races
Lovani lining up at Doomben in race 2. Bit of a nibble for it this morning. Likes to race on the pace too which is an advantage at Doomben today. Fine morning here in Brisbane although a few clouds building in the south. Might cop a shower or two later this morning but shouldn’t have any bearing on track conditions. The Gold Coast may cop a bit of rain though.

A Day at the Races
It’s the second time in a week that The Bostonian has been scratched. Had a shocking gate last week too. When the rail is out at Doomben it makes it even more difficult for those drawn wide. Still, keep an eye out for it. Dane Thunder similarly drew wide but usually not an issue at Sandown. That mail came from somebody very closely connected to the horse too. Yeah, Dafeenah comes via a very reliable source. Was $9 in this mornings (Brisbane) paper. Tongue tie on may be a key.

A Day at the Races
A late one...Gold Coast R2 - 4 Dafeenah.

A Day at the Races
I’m not huge on the punt but do get the odd bit of mail which is occasionally profitable. Tomorrow I have these: Doomben R2 - 11 Heavenly Thought Doomben R6 - 12 Schism Doomben R9 - 11 The Bostonian Sandown R2 - 13 Dane Thunder They are all worth a few $ each way and throwing in any multiples.

Is Brayshaw more rounded than the Trac?
One needs to get his ego in check and play 100 minutes of football. Brayshaw is doing everything right.

THE BOMBERS' DOPING SAGA - THE FAT LADY SINGS
He was found in possession of an amount deemed to be excessive for personal use - a traffickable amount. I haven’t looked at the Act but possession of certain drugs are deemed prima facie “traffickable” amounts by weight. He may not be selling drugs per se, but being found in possession of specific amounts automatically brings the trafficking charge.

A Day at the Races
Evening fellas, I am also going Marmelo and Humidor but also having something each way on Ventura Storm with G. Boss steering. Pulled up sore after the CC but galloped strongly since. My youngest daughter (29) who only ever has a bet on the Cup, apparently liked the name Cismontane a couple of weeks ago so she got her husband to put $5 each way at fixed odds at....$301 & $76! I offered her $5 last night for halves but she knocked me back! Kids today have no respect.

A Day at the Races
I have had a bit of a study today and come up with a few at Flemington. I am not a fan of favourite runners (although there is great value tomorrow if you are). Race 1 - 12 Almighty, Race 4 - 6 Vengeur Masque Race 5 - 6 Jukebox, Race 7 - 11 Ocean's Fourteen, Race 8 - 9 Shillelagh. I will also have a go at Lola's Diamond on the Gold Coast, Race 3 - 6 and Monteaux at Doomben, Race 3 - 3. Good luck fellas. Cheers PD

A Day at the Races
Hi Macca. I have owned 5 racehorses over the years. 4 in Melbourne and 1up here in Brisbane. My punting days go back to the time when the ladies in the TAB’s around Melbourne hand wrote the tickets! I really don’t have a bet very often nowadays but do enjoy lashing out at this time of the year. Gee, those First 4’s are hard but as you said, the potential dividends are huge. I have a good mate that boxes 2x4xFxF but only for a low percentage. He often jags a decent return because he leaves the favourite right out of selections 1and 2. What I have noticed over the years watching Spring Carnivals is that horses that finished 1st or 2nd at their most recent start, regardless of where that may have been, figure prominently in most races. Moreso than at the average race meeting. Of course, often there are quite a few runners in a race with that form, sometimes not so many. I have had some good results by basing trifectas and particularly quinellas, around them. Off to get my copy of the Sportsman now and will drop some selections for tomorrow in later. I already like Shillelagh in whichever race it goes round in. Huge run last start. Cheers PD
