  1. Personally I think we should shelve Viney for the rest of the year. Bringing him back early is just 2017 all over again
  2. How do you figure that? They were way too good for us that day
  3. Ok, should have qualified my statement! Adelaide last year could not finish below 2nd, so were guaranteed a home final. I dont think GWS are going to be in that position come round 23
  4. No team will be resting players in round 23, as there is a week off the week after. It is the very reason the AFL bought in the week off before finals.
  5. The problem with our key defensive structures has been quite evident since Lever went down. We have tried and failed a number of options without much success, especially against the better teams. Adelaide will again exploit this tonight, as they will our constant barrage into F50 of long bombs to Hogan. It will be Port Adelaide all over again. I suppose we will know by around 10pm tonight. And the only reason I suggested playing Oliver forward was that I doubt he will be 100 percent fit
  6. I can’t see us winning this game if we have the same structures. Time to throw caution to the wind. Play Hogan at CHB. Oliver permanent forward with TMac. Tackle to hurt. Come on Goody, throw some curve balls
  7. I think the club should take a no risk approach with Oliver, Harmes and possibly Hogan. Its not the end of the world if we lose this week. Beat the Suns, get all the guns back for Sydney and try to win 2 of the last 3. That gets us a final.
  8. Fantastic news! In a week where feelings were at a low, this brings sunshine to my soul at least.
  9. Sydney are vulnerable at the moment. They have Essendon this week at Etihad, then Collingwood at home. If they lose both, and we lose to Adelaide but beat GCS then it makes the Sydney game vital. Win that, and we go a game plus sizeable percentage ahead of them. All of the chasing pack, Hawthorn, Essendon, Adelaide, Port, play each other over the final rounds. I can't see any of them winning more than 13, more likely they will be on 12. Win against Adelaide this week, and I reckon we are almost there!
  10. Yep, sure is. He is living in the wrong state. Trade him back to WA where he wants to be and move on.
  11. Exactly what I thought after reading that article. I just cant see who is going to kick our goals, because Geelong will strangle our forward line. You really need goal kicking mids to beat the type of defence the article alluded to, which we haven't had to date. I really hope I am wrong, but I see tonight as the beginning of the end.
  12. Regrettably, have to agree. $4 to miss the 8 was too good to pass up, as was the $4 for WCE to make the grand final
  13. We are not playing GWS in Canberra, the game is at the MCG
  14. This is a huge out. With Lever and Viney, this is 3 of our top 10 out for potentially the season. It will be a monumental effort to make finals from here
  15. Rubbish skills, rubbish decision making, as slow as my granny. 10 goal loss coming up
  16. Into $1.11 on Sportsbet, and Freo out to $6.70 after being $5.80 during the week. Ludicrous odds, just like last week when Saints were $7. Melb should NEVER be 10 to 1 on in a contest.
  17. Not really. We lost to North by 4 points in rubbish conditions, then to a hot GWS, then belted StKilda for all but a lapse in the 3rd quarter. Sports science has come along way in the last few years. If we lose to Dogs next week it won’t have anything to do with the conditions on Saturday night
  18. We won the following week after playing in Darwin last year
  19. Dont forget Lever is only 22 and 3 seasons under his belt. He will get bigger and stronger and become KPD. As long as his knee holds out! So we do not need another big defender. We need pace.
  20. Yes, valid suggestion. Could be worth a try to see if Hogan can fill that role. I was suggesting TMac as the goal from here should be get together enough wins to scrape into finals
  21. Gee, I wonder why they have lost 11 games then? Hindsight is a marvellous thing Jackie boy
  22. True, just have to look at St Kilda to see that. Basket case before they beat the Suns.
  23. The solution is to move TMac back to CHB and leave Hogan as the key forward. Not saying that this is the future, but its the best current scenario. Lets try to pinch a spot in the finals and reload next year. Frost, Keilty, Smith are not the answer. Also need our small forwards, whoever they are, to pressure pressure pressure. As Viney said, just get back to doing the basics, it is an easy fix.
  24. Yep, understand that. However our backline is severely lacking athe moment which is costing us big time. So he needs to go back. We kicked 19 goals today without him contributing much
  25. Hogan needs to go back to being the main forward target, forget about this roaming role. He is not Nick Riewoldt. Tom Mcdonald goes back to defence, he was one of the competitions best defenders, and with Lever out we need him there. Persist with Weideman. Sorry Harrison, but you have had your taste now spend the rest of the year in the VFL learning your trade. From the VFL, Baker could be a chance, and Stretch has done enough to earn a recall. Forget Garlett, clearly he is not in the right mind space, rarely gets near it at VFL level, Spargo a much better option. We need to get back to basics and win the next two games, confidence counts for a lot in this game.
