  1. A really tough call, but horses for courses. I am sure Bayley will play a blinder on Sunday, so the pressure will be on Smith, Hannah, Tyson and maybe a couple of others to produce on Saturday otherwise he may well take their spot in the GF. Really feel for the young man though
  2. Correct Jonesy. In 2016 the opposite happened, both Geelong and GWS who had the extra break, both lost prelims
  3. Rioli and Ryan average 11 possessions a game, less than 2 tackles and about a goal each. I think we have them covered. Would be more concerned with Kennedy and Darling, but that relies on the midfield battle
  4. Cover, Geelong supporter. And is as irrelevant as they are now.
  5. I won’t be in Perth on Saturday Bobby, but will be in spirit. Barrack hard for me.
  6. My highlight was the crowd. Years of beliitlement and pain all of a sudden now belief and pride.
  7. Wouldn’t mind betting that was Sicily, which would explain Tracc mocking him after the Melk goal
  8. Wow! Maybe he watched the game from the bar. Of course they had more marks, they were chipping it around that much. Hardly ever looked threatening going forward as other than Gunston they had no-one else to kick to! Jesus, if winning by 6 goals against a top 4 team, in a sudden death pressure final, is bad form, I'll take that every time. Kingy, take a look at the number of goal kickers each team had, there is your story there.
  9. He was clean and decisive, dont think he wasted a possession. Just knows where to be
  10. No passengers tonight, just 22 guys willing to put their heads and body on the line to win a contested ball. I have never in my 54 years supporting this club have seen and heard a Melbourne crowd like that.
  11. Kicked 1 goal this year, says it all
  12. Yes I did, Lucifer. I do not have any updated info but i would think Sam's thinking would have changed somewhat. As far as a Hogan trade goes, Freo may have 2 top ten picks this year, in what is widely regarded as a super draft. If Hogan was agreeable the club would be remiss to not consider this.
  13. No change required for this game. Hawthorn is averaging around 48 inside 50's over the paat 4 games. If we just concentrate on a little more composure inside 50, we win this game with a leg in the air
  14. This exactly. Have said it before, it’s the bottom 6-8 players that make a huge difference in winning and losing. And if Vanders is in our bottom 6 then we are going places. He had a massive impact last night with his contested work, a reason the rest of the group reacted so positively to him when he joined the main training group a few weeks back. They knew what his inclusion to the team meant.
  15. And how ironic that Selwood once told Chunk he was the worst captain in the AFL, step aboard the Karma Bus duckwood
  16. Great article. You can sense that there is a huge resolve amongst this playing group, or the “22 brothers” as Mas says. I think Gee-so-long are in for a torrid time on Friday
  17. Geelong are slow old hacks. Get out of the way, there’s a new kid in town
  18. Dont agree. Charlie runs all day, gets where the ball is, and he had a hand in a few goals. For a 19yo he is terrific
  19. Sam Weideman currently out on the ground having shots at goal, has not kicked one yet!
  20. True, but unless they are unrestricted free agent, you still have to trade for them
  21. Probably quite a while. But they have picked up some handy free agency players! Anyway, I thought the topic was about Jake Lever? The comment from the previous poster was that it is good for us that Adelaide's pick is diminished due to our higher finishing position - this is irrelevant as we have still given up 2 first round picks that we are now unable to use.
  22. Yes we have, and on latest form, it should be a win for us. However, let's not forget he has had 2 knee reconstructions now, and the Alex Johnson misfortune can remind us that there are no guarantees.
  23. Yeah, but our first pick will be high 20's, so how is that a win for us?
  24. Well said DeeSpencer. This Nate Jones bashing has become very tiresome. The guy bleeds red and blue, he is a true club legend. The best part about Sunday was that vision of him at the final siren. It epitomised the feelings a lot of us have shared in this thread......pure joy.
  25. And when we do win the flag next year, I think Rod Grinter should pay the t..d a visit and replace his teeth via his back passage
