  1. The AFL must impose very heavy sanctions on those involved. Don't forget this came out of an external review commissioned by Hawthorn, the purpose of which was to ascertain the experiences of indigenous players, current and former, of the club. Three examples of that report have formed the basis of the ABC report. Rioli left the club on bad terms. Does anyone really think this is fabricated? One of the coaches named in the report has history. Remember the punched walls? The behaviour at junior football games?
  2. Don’t understand this thinking. This years premiers will be as deserving as anyone. We need to get our heads out of the sand with that view that our best is unbeatable. Well, guess what, we were very beatable this year. Geelong are strangling Brisbane, and I will guarantee you, they will not give Brisbane a sniff from here. Unlike us.
  3. And for once, I really hope the players are reading and listening to it all. File it away Dees
  4. Did you happen to notice his game against Geelong two weeks earlier? I think we are getting a little starstruck about Jackson’s game in the GF. That 3rd quarter burst was mostly due to Trac, Clarrie and JV
  5. Oh please.....so Max couldnt have spent that 15 minutes at the centre bounce against a geriatric Martin?
  6. Yeah right, except when we play Flogmantle. Go away Melissa, we don't need your patronisation.
  7. We would already have Young if we hadn't wasted pick 3 on this turkey
  8. When did contract talks go on hold, about then I would say
  9. He wants to stay at Collingwood, so I doubt he will be requesting a trade. Having said that, if Pies need to dump him, then I don’t see why we should be giving up a first rounder
  10. He’s called Jacob Van Rooyen. He will make a huge difference next year. The rest will fall into place. We have a premiership list, remember 12 months ago. Goodwin knows we need to work out the reasons we fell away this year, and they will. Bring it on, we will be the hunters next year.
  11. And with that, Brisbane went from $3.15 to $3.45. Go figure that out
  12. Sounds a bit like the walking wounded! So we have Trac limping, Fritsch only hopeful of playing, Spargo doubtful, Jackson with a knee injury that requires surgery, Brown with a knee, Gawn NQR (ankle?), Lever with a foot concern, Oliver with a recently fractured thumb. Have I missed anyone? What was that old adage about taking injured players into finals?
  13. Yes, Smith hasn’t been mentioned much in this discussion, but he was the medi sub on Friday. If another marking forward comes in, then it could, probably should, be Smith
  14. I was in M50 on Friday night. Too bloody quiet! At the start of the third quarter, when we kicked those multiple goals, I stood up and shouted at the rows behind me to get involved! They pretty much all (about 3 rows) just looked at me like I was a crazed [censored]. A lack of passion. I can see where Petracca is coming from. I am sick of going to the footy and being shouted down by the likes of Sydney and Fremantle supporters. Seriously! As John Kennedy said, JUST DO!!!!
  15. Yes I agree. I doubt he will get up for next week. Goody also said that TMac could be in the mix depending on how he trains today. It is stating the bleeding obvious to say we need to do something different with the forward set up. I wouldn’t be averse to JVR and Bedford coming in, but doubt that will happen. Melksham, as good as he was against Carlton, is past it. Brown won’t get dropped, even though he was embarrassing last night. He needs to play within the 50 metre arc and stop this ridiculous running up the ground. I would have Bowey in, he is tough, smart and always hits a target. Maybe push Salem to defensive wing. Jackson, do we need to play 2 rucks against Brisbane? I don’t think so. For me, he goes out for that reason, as he gives us nothing up forward.
  16. Straight over the top of the post, even Lynch knew it. ARC got this right.
  17. I was impressed by the way Casey ran all over Sydney in the second half. The first half was played at a blistering speed in quite warm conditions considering the weather we have had. There were a lot of really hot contests in that first half. It was quite obvious that Casey were fitter and stronger, and you would assume that most of the Casey players train under the AFL team work loads. Maybe gives a bit of weight to the loading philosophy? And I want to make mention of Adam Tomlinson, he is clearly a general out there. His verbal instructions to team mates was relentless.
  18. Interesting article in The Age today about Collingwood. Quoted both Maynard and Pendlebury saying they had the belief they can win when behind late in games, they actually train for those scenarios. Glad I read this. It tells me they may subconsciously switch off during periods of a game. You won't win finals if you do that
  19. You should be sorry. That was a brilliantly orchestrated set play by Lever.
  20. Brisbane were not very impressive on Friday night. In fact, if Max King and Membrey kick those clutch goals, would probably have lost. The defensive side of their game is quite ordinary. I think we have won our last 11 interstate games. Just sayin.
