  1. Brisbane were not very impressive on Friday night. In fact, if Max King and Membrey kick those clutch goals, would probably have lost. The defensive side of their game is quite ordinary. I think we have won our last 11 interstate games. Just sayin.
  2. We have lost our dare. Players are second guessing and there is panic creeping in. Where is that Max Gawn who would float around the ground marking everything. Where is that Christian Petracca who took a Grand Final by the scruff of the neck and shook it till it was his. Where is that wave like explosiveness from the centre. Where is that impenetrable wall of defence. Where is that manic forward pressure. That’s what I want to see on the run home. But I suspect I won’t. We have put too much pressure on ourselves by declaring the back to back in front of us at the G. The other contenders can smell the kill, and I reckon Carlton are a big chance, Cripps or not.
  3. The tribunal will set a very dangerous precedent if they dismiss this penalty
  4. That is a really good analysis and it would explain why we kick to the pocket so often. With regards to #3, what is the answer? Do we need a JVR type to at least contest? It again highlights the loss of TMac.
  5. Nice work Rocknroll. The easy answer may be the teams we played in the first 10 rounds, as opposed to the teams we played in rounds 11-20. Maybe the better teams have just improved more than we have (or dare I say it, we may have gone backwards a little?)
  6. From what I saw his intention was to bump Ah Chee. Therefore the act has to be adjudicated as intentional. With the high impact and injury, he will get 2-3 weeks. If the MRO deem it to be unintentional ( the contact), then he will get off. If that happens then there is no doubt there are different sets of rules depending on a players popularity
  7. Yes, it is what it is. I am sure the club would have had some sort of match like simulation this weekend for the VFL players. I think he is a chance for Carlton
  8. Maybe his persistent injury issues would have more to do with that. Having said that, he would be worth the gamble as a second tall forward. Or maybe even Petty. I don’t think we can bank on TMac, he didn’t sound overly confident when interviewed by Robbo at half time last night
  9. Fair enough, you are entitled to your opinion. And if we were beaten in the keys stats I would have agreed with you. But we weren’t.
  10. I am going to be quite bullish about this. Collingwood played about as well as they possibly could have. Their ball movement and pressure were outstanding. We lost by 7 points and led for the vast majority of the game. Do you think Collingwood before the game would have said “ let’s give them 24 more forward 50 entries, 95 more possessions, 14 more centre clearances and 24 more contested possessions, she will be right mate!” As Goody said, we left the door open by not converting the dominance in the first half. Something that can be quite easily fixed as we saw just under a year ago. Do you think we would be all hand wringing this morning if in that first half our forwards had the same accuracy and luck that Collingwood did? The players will respond in the next two weeks. Play them again in September? Yes please.
  11. I think he knew exactly what he was saying. The club would sanction every media contact the players had, so they would have known about this interview. And possibly what he was about to say. Mind games. Just watch Collingwood lose their focus a little tomorrow.
  12. Too right I'll be there. Missed the Queen's Birthday game, but my daughter, a blues supporter, went with her diehard Dee's supporter partner. She was shocked at the behaviour of Collingwood supporters, giving it to Dee's supporters as they left after the game. Carried on like they had just won the flag. Not to mention the filth bench mouthing off at Max as he went off injured (I have it on good authority he gave them a big spray back, especially Maxwell). We owe this mob big time. Expect CP5 to have a big one
  13. He could have played the straight bat and said he didnt know and leaves those things to the football department. The fact he said what he did is the most positive thing we have heard since this all began
  14. Pick 14, future first round (which was pick 20 the following year), 24 and 37. Geelong gave picks 52, and future third round
  15. That first line says it all. Bring that, and we win this and it sets us up for the next 3. If we don't, then it says a lot about our chances from here.
  16. Thanks for the tip about the AFL website. My comment about Richmond not coughing up 5 goal leads was purely from memory. However, I did just check most of the 2019 and 2020 seasons, and could not find a game where this happened. Maybe you could help me out? What I did see was that in both those seasons they won the last 8-10 games of the home and away season. They were bullet proof, invincible almost. Not feelings I get about us this year. Which, after all, was the point of the topic wasn’t it?
  17. It’s been a struggle. Other than the Brisbane game and first half against St Kilda. Losing games after being 4 or 5 goals up is hard to swallow, especially if you are the reigning premiers. Would not have happened to Richmond in their prime. There is a level of frustration amongst supporters I sit with. I think we just expected to win this year so we could see it for real, not on a TV watching a game 4000 kms away. I don’t buy into the loading, or think we can just flick a switch. I think the issues are much deeper than that, something is going on internally.
  18. Easy fix, bring in someone who does want to play with us next year
  19. This is ridiculous, Geelong don’t cough up 6 goal leads….oh wait?
  20. If that is true that he bought a house in Perth in March, then we have a serious conflict of interest. You would have to ask the question, how committed are you son? You can argue that this is a business, but the bottom line it is a football club where loyalty is tantamount. Ask Carrie, Tracc and JV. Show him the door now.
  21. Yes he does. And every time he runs off the ground to the bench he is noticeably limping.
  22. I wouldnt mind if we finish 4th, then we get a home final against Geelong!
  23. Yes, good to be in this position. BUT, our losses have been against teams currently 1st, 6th 4th and 5th, 3 of them at our HOME ground. Massive 5 weeks coming up, eh!
  24. Agree. Missing Oliver. Our bottom 6 are nowhere near last years level. Forward line not functioning. The mental effect of the Jackson and Brayshaw situation. Port now with a real chance of finals. Port now into $2.45 from $3.10 a week ago. I hate to say this, but I think there is a possibility we miss finals altogether
  25. My speculation is that Jackson wants a trade to Freo, but Freo are in the same position we were last year with Cerra, that is they don’t have the draft picks to complete the deal. So that leaves a Freo player or two who would currently be in their best 22 as the trade. They are not going to be tapping blokes on the shoulder at this stage of the year, so this will be decided at seasons end
