  1. l wouldn't be too stressed about a grand final replay, I've already seen it 10 times and we always win by 74 points ...
  2. Hope so, will add another rich layer to the connection developing between the past and present players!
  3. Longer ...
  4. It will be a government announcement not so much a MFC announcement
  5. You could probably add Richo into that mix also. Importantly the ones above were part of a relatively successful era at the pies. Obviously Pert has worked with them all and knows what he is getting - he hasn't got too much wrong since last seasons football review that saw us make key appointments in Yze, Mark Williams and others.
  6. That's probably true, but its also true he was complementary of Dave Misson's time at the club which suggests he is being Mr Nice guy at least some of the time. The contrast between the number of injuries and the levels of fitness pre and post Burgo is stark and its not a co-incidence. We missed finals 1 maybe 2 times in the past due to our prior injury and fitness management
  7. De Goey is setting himself to play that 1 good year leading into a new contract cycle ...
  8. l have it on good authority that they are burying Norm Smith's curse
  9. Lost me at Degoey, not even close to being the best player at the lowly second last Collingwood. Was 4th in their B&F
  10. Mentioned this a few years ago ... So the day after he was drafted, the top picks were paraded to media just across from AFL House at the Docklands. While working near by, and in between his interviews, l managed to introduce myself before he realised l wasn't a journo but was more than happy to chat to a dees supporter. Very genuine, he was super excited to be joining MFC and we agreed that he was a great fit as we needed ruck / forward support for Max and that he would learn alot under him. He also wasn't fussed about moving to Melbourne as he had been here before many times for basketball and football rep games and was expecting to leave WA anyway - which pleased me the most. Suspect he was also relieved not to be picked up by Gold Coast or GWS with their early picks
  11. Thanks for the help DC, was only kidding however hence the wink at the end
  12. I can work out the rest of the players but who is Buffalo 😉
  13. Is he is as good as the bulldogs were suggesting to lift his value then he would have played ... the last 3 or so players in their starting 22 aren't that talented ... surely if he was any good he would have got more of a gig rotating up forward/wing/very occasionally in the midfield like a Sparrow or Jordan
  14. The club was in a state of flux for a while re his 'concussion' issues and he didn't turn up to training for a while there ... Peter Jackson at the time said something like, 'we will continue negotiating for only so long' ... seeming to be peeved with Lumumba ... he also strangely claimed he wasn't allowed to play to reach triggers in his contact ... all very odd
  15. So not a player as such, but the midfield group of the last 2 years ... the view held by many was that they were too alike and that we needed to trade someone out to get more balance ... rubbish ... Lions didn't trade out any of their gun mids during their premiership years as they are too hard to come by ... just need to play selfless team football and a premiership awaits
  16. Love that he invited the team to go back to back knowing how talented they are - he of all people would know what it takes! Suggestions that it should be called the Barassi Premiership Cup I support!
  17. Looking forward to using 3-peat
  18. Check the start of the podcast for DAY10 ... Tim is very impressive from what I have seen to date not just in this trade period ... love that he acknowledges the contribution of Todd Viney and others https://www.afl.com.au/podcasts/afl-exchange
  19. l had my MFCSS surgically removed
  20. Important to be modest. l just tell my friends that we won't know if the dees are any good until we play a team above us on the ladder
  21. So we have picks 17, 37, 49, 57, and 94 and 4 uncontracted list spots given no announcements yet on some players. Likely that: pick 94 isn't used we sign Hibberd for a year we sign Hore for a year (if his body is ok) as he is better than pick 49 or 57 in the draft as depth Declase I am assuming will miss out If that's right, we only select two players in the draft. So we need to do some pick swaps to get whatever value we can out of 49 and 57 i.e. swap pick 37, 49, and 57 for pick 32 etc
  22. Part of the deal might also be that the other 3 clubs involved in the swap don't pick Mac Andrews. Not part of the trade rules but it happens
  23. So looking purely at the draft spots we lose out here. Although other factors are clearly at play I am sure i.e. strength of this years & next years draft, father son selections pushing spots back, academy points needed, potentially packaging some of these picks up and swapping them again with other clubs, a particular player in mind etc. Will hold faith for now as the team have runs on the board
  24. I think it was TIm Lamb leading, going by the clubs vids of trade nights when they picked up Jacko, Kozzie, and Rivers
  25. Yep, in terms of chat about what's potentially going out, its: AVB Kade Chandler
