  1. Id retire in Thailand after 212k a year for 4 years tbqh. Anyway. Topic. Maybe this year has told our coaches that we need insurance on Weidemann and TMAC playing forward has been the godsend that has sured up our chf role in the event that Weeds career is smoked but LEVER is the insurance on Weidemann really, not Frost or Omac. Maybe Frost or Omac will provide us with trade ammunition to bring in another A grade mid if we have a glut of defenders in the future but until then we need to cover CHF. Probably speaks of our lack of faith in bringing in Reid or Tippet
  2. Go on a bender with Rod Grinter and Marcus Seecamp in celebration of his induction into the Demon Thug Club
  3. What about Oliver head to head with Cripps and Vince to shut down Gibbs? Gibbs has been on fire this year and could tear us apart if we dont clamp him. We then collectively rough up marc Murphy so he goes into his shell a little. One player be it ANB, Trengove, Lewis or Petracca will have to have one of their biggest career games on Murphy. We should play tough but fair and scrap out the win with hunt and frost playing key defensive rebounding games.
  4. Surely he's only worth a second round pick after a year of poor form and last year playing well in patches. Motlop too, though he's a rrstricted free agent apparently. If Kent doesnt get back into form and vdb remains injured, surely we have to act.
  5. Jake King: A distinguished career of 0 Brownlow votes. Probably bikie-bribed his way onto an AFL list. The media attention he got for his retirement was a disgrace.
  6. Lever was injured and didnt play against us. Might be thinking of Laird.
  7. There were a few rumblings in the media that he would be traded at the end of the year. The Michael Walters thread prompted this thought bubble. Would we be interested in him? He's an upgrade on Kent and could really blossom with actual key forwards surrounding him, letting him be a high half forward or deeper goal sneak. Perhaps Mitch Hannan is the next 2015/16 Jake Stringer and we won't need to bother with drafting another forward and Stringer will fizzle out back to the suburban leagues.
  8. 800k a year was 640k before the CBA though. Is it really big overs?
  9. So now we know what it will take. Any takers on spending that much? Additional Q for those in the know, can Melbourne afford to make this kind of offer and also put money aside for our core group of talent?
  10. "Channel 7 have stated that the Bulldogs will offer Jake Lever a $4 million+ deal over 5 years"
  11. The NT game is really beginning to appear like it costs us more thsn 500k if it prevents us from making the 8 and takes a fitness toll on the list. Heck if it cost us top 4 then thats 1 prime time home final guarantee lost (How much $$?)
  12. If he was the diversity manager, shouldn't he have stormed onto the footy show set and whacked Sam Newman?
  13. I'd also like him to change his boots and wear the longer wet weather screw ins. He looks like he's running on ice sometimes.
  14. I think it was AFL Tonight that had a small segment of Gus in a helmet and said he was eyeing a July 27th Return and was doing extra neck stretch exercises that rugby players do and had been meeting with Nathan Burke. Perhaps he is eyeing a 2 or 3 game VFL return over the next month? Maybe Brayshaw returning and backing himself could be just the remedy for our depth issues if injuries continue. His most recent concussion was because of another players reckless off the ball actions and also because he hadn't embarked on his current strength conditioning until the past month.
  15. That's an interesting point. Perhaps with Carltons defensive structure, we'll need some tall marking contested options to break through their zone defence and Pedo could be rested or we go in with a tall forwardline with some Kent/Kennedy as crumbers and throw ANB into the middle?
  16. Jayden hunt has had a quiet few weeks i think from memory. We need him back in defence, generating run and hitting targets. As for mids. How about ANB having a big month? I know he probably never will reach dizzying heights, but it would be great for him to surprise and play like Tyson ie having some 30 pos games and being involved in our midfield flow. Harmes as people have said would be an obvious great stand up player as theres something about him that is untamed and momentum generating. He plays taller and bashes and crashes. Hannan with some time in the middle could have an influence too. He plays more mature than most on the list.
  17. Great results Door still open to chase top 2. Or perhaps we'd be better avoiding the mcg rich win great for getting us into the 4 with a mere win over the next round
  18. Just threw on SEN and all Buckley and Connolly are talking about is Collingwood, wtf?
  19. Agree with you TGR. His intelligence is utterly refreshing, just like Hodges commentary and stands in stark contrast to everything else. But you wont get anywhere on this topic because die hard DLers think every non demon player is a [censored] of the highest order and every other club, a pack of rats on a sinking ship
  20. Make a play for Motlop as a stay-at-home small forward then? Geelong might want someone like ANB or Kent.
  21. Looks like the God Lord Shiva playing a match in India.
  22. Would we trade Dom Tyson for an outside running player like Zak Jones or Johannisen? How much of a ceiling do people place in Doms future? It seems to be far lower than Brayshaw given a lot of the talk about Dom's disposal, and yet Gus can't even get on the park.
  23. I thought it was more massive with Essendon on equal points to us, Sydney can't even pass us if they somehow managed to pull off an unlikely win over us next week, nor can Essendon now with a win next week We're 2 games ahead of both, still (With a game in hand). Tonights result was marvellous.
  24. Having Max return would negate any need for extra leadership support for Viney.
  25. Not only an opportunity for our mids to get creative with covering Jones loss and learning for the long term, but also an opportunity for Jack Viney to captain the club in a very important part of the year with big Max to offer additional ruck and leadership support. Will hold him/us in good stead long term
