  1. Dating players ex-partners and sisters? That's some serious cuck kink. Gary Lyon is a lightweight. Did he look them up in the yellow pages and arrive at their door stop dressed as an Australia Post employee who has "Come to deliver a package" ? Or did it start with an innocuous facebook poke? Either way i feel like i've stumbled upon an adult movie script.
  2. There was a manic handball chain that led to a Jones goal against Freo that is the 'positive' aspect of the over-handballing - but it's far too infrequent, but when it comes off it's incredible. Any team with defensive pressure can disable that chain easily though. It's why we need players who can either snap around their body in a scissor kick like motion from 20-40 out the way Rioli and Cameron did this weekend, flexible goal sneaks OR dead eye dicks who we can chip the ball to and we know from 40, it's as good as in. Bruest, Menzel, WB's Dickson springs to mind, and why we need to keep Watts. Garlett is our obvious prime small forward, and Hannan and Petracca have a brilliant knack for kicking a goal inside a pack or shrugging off a pack in Petracca's case, but the livewire forward is one player we need to replace the 'Mid playing at half forward' position. Only elite midfielders who win contests more often than not are worthy of being in the forward line. Melksham has shown promise with his long kicking goals, but i think he's a wing.
  3. Surely a clubs objective is to create a system where not one player is needed but is replaceable and slots into the 22 like a cog, especially not ones with 2 years left. Its the blokes you sign for 4-5 years who would qualify as absolutely needed. So hopefully we dont need Lewis, but instead prefer having him in the 22 for his expertise and overall dynamic. Semantics.
  4. Best player for the Cats in the last two finals, why not revive the discussion? Showed some great run tonight in the mould of Daniel Wells, ie effortlessly a pace ahead of everyone and most of his disposals were very silky and leading his team mates into space. In the top 5 for distance covered per match too apparently.
  5. Yawn. An entire year of Ablett trade talk and Nathan Buckley coaching on every footy show on a weekly basis, the reason why i've ceased watching all of them halfway through the year except 'on the couch'
  6. Haha, i've see that, as it's one of the only photographs of him on google.
  7. I call them the 'Too Tough' crowd because of their penchant for calling every player 'too soft'
  8. Did you or anyone happen to catch a recent AFL 360 segment with Lynch? I heard he was criticised on social media for being extremely flakey and non-commital to GCS?
  9. I would also think Hawthorn are quiet because their players are well on top of learning another finely tuned Clarko system that's less reliant on needing to bring in any more elite talent. Once again all they may need are one or two mature FA's each year that complement what they're creating. Hawthorn were absurdly one of the form teams of the competition mid-season after their terrible beginning. I expect them to be deep in the finals within the next year or two. Damnit.
  10. Maybe it's my conditioning growing up in the 90's with 190-195cm KPF's, but I was shocked to realise Stringer is 192cm, his speed and aerial dominance over his opponents makes a lot more sense now. I had always thought he was a 180-185cm small forward with X factor.
  11. He's everyones FAntasy for next year.
  12. I meant, if Collingwood were stupid enough to offer pick 6 for Weideman with where they're positioned right now to "get the lever trade done", taking that sort of a risk, then we'd take it and use it for another trade or draft a player. We'd instead offer either #10 & Watts or Salem, #10 and a 2nd round pick or #10 and 2018 1st round pick swap for Adelaide's 1st round pick... at the most for Lever imo. Either way, Having Lever & Pick 6/Weideman is a must for future development.
  13. I still recall Eddie McGuire talking about Wiedeman's grandpa pre-game before Sam played his first game, must've been one minute he rattled on and you could tell there was a bitter envy there. The Coc hed had the audacity to make the kids first game about Collingwood. If they offered pick 6, i think we'd have to take it if we'd found someone worth taking no matter what the position, if the team wanting the trade is going on family-club romantacism and assumed potential and not on what he's shown so far. We'd then use pick 6 for a trade that fills a hole, or we'd develop a youngster and let Taylor find a forward that fits into our forward line with Hogan, Tmac & Watts with picks, trades or FA over the next year or two. If anything, this smells like a team trying to get in on the Lever trade. If Adelaide won't accept our 2nd round pick, then it does seem like it's Watts or Salem vs Wiedeman to get it done for Adelaide with 10 & 6
  14. Talk Talk Talk. I have to admit though, what an eye catching hair-doo. Skip the finals and premierships, get this man into the media.
  15. Many you'd get rid of that have no trade value, which gets us to why people might want to get rid of Watts. There's a reason why there is no "To get rid of Harmes or not" thread.
  16. Do people actually care about GWS winning the premiership beyond a 5 second outburst of annoyance and a 20 minute feeling of dread once the result is inevitable? I've lived through a Hawthorn 3peat, who cares. Switch the TV off and do something else and re-start the season. Go Dees. If they can win it, so be it. If they can't, so be it. idgaf about externals. Sydney's 15 year finals streak is evidence of the manufactured nature of AFL, so i won't get too [censored] off about the Dees not overcoming the mountain just yet. They're up against a lot.
  17. cont.. Even the most dominant ruckman of all time, Dean Cox, needed one of the best midfield groups of all time around him to be dominant enough to win a premiership, and they were still one kick away from winning none. Footy is a game of inches. Which to me means, no matter how dominant M.G. will be next year, it's going to take 21 other players to win a premiership.
  18. Was it Garlands dad in his tassie pub offering free drinks for the pre game of our match against the kangas? Surely thats reason enough to give Garland another season.
  19. 2018 may also show us he's somewhere in between, which is fine if everyone else is playing their part.
  20. I just hope the away clash guernsey designers at MFC are watching, next year is the most important year for you to step up!
  21. I think the perfect storm for perhaps mistakenly blaming 'the bye week' again is around the corner too, because Geelong and GWS do actually have more recent prelim experience than their opponents and it may show when the pressure comes on if things are close. Adelaide have folded easily in the last few years semi finals and in key moments when they could've booked a top 4 spot playing at home, but it should be different tomorrow. So I expect we'll see some choking over the weekend, whether it's enough to see the dreaded Geelong vs GWS grand final, who knows.
  22. Doubt we would've handled the Kangas the year earlier or Brisbane a year later. If you take a look at the 22, our defence is the main glaring weakness - full of c grade players. Our mids and firepower forwards did a great job of overwhelming opponents into submission, so the D didnt have much to do, which is a problem when you meet a side that is of your equal in the middle and has a strong forward line. We also needed a few more thugs. If only we had this team in 97/98
