this is a complete load of [censored] made up by the herald sun who are sensationalising the fact that the FFA LOOKED, LOOKED, at changing the G for the world cup if we won it so it was square at the bottom - of course requiring months of work. it was fairly quickly dismissed! of course. 8 weeks is the most we wont have the MCG for - and thats if it holds a final. assume that no footy will go ahead during the world cup, thats 8 weeks off. start a month earlier and finish a month later. sorted. the afl in their short-sightedness are looking at this as a negative. it should be an opportunity to showcase the best of australia infront of the world. i bet there are some nations out there that would LOVE AFL if only they saw it.

well that being players registered with the governing body. and since we are struggling for space so badly in this country...

hate to break it to you but soccer is the most participated in sport in this country. its 1 season. 3 months..... start in feb, have 2 months of training, a few practice games, and then see the 2nd half of the season explode into early november with everyone FIT having had time to get over their injuries etc! it would be epic. and wed all be dying for footy to start again. in the mean time we would have the biggest event in the world in our back yard, and the party that comes with it!

i was at both freo games. 2009 version was freexing before the game, i was soaked. 2008 game i was so depressed i had a whiskey on the rocks at 1/2time in .00005 of a second, what a turnaround. i missed the adelaide game, i was actually in adelaide at the time, in my dees jumper in a pub in glenelg giving it large and on the sauce. i copped no [censored] on the way out either
