essendon had 52 free kicks. we had 28. 80 free kicks. 20 a quarter. disgraceful umpiring.

AAAANNNNNNNNNNNYYYYYYYYYYYYYWAY last night 2 things stood out for me. the first was essendons pressure - not only on the person with the ball, but also his options. inferred pressure. this made it very difficult for us to get the ball out of our backline. it was also telling that we were useless at this. we had 4 blokes running at the man with the ball while he just squirted out a handball and 3 blokes took off with it. the second is related to the first. our skills and decision making were deplorable. handballs to bad options, not taking the first option etc etc. and i think it took its toll on our confidence as the game wore on as well. also, essendon wanted it more and were more desperate. but they wont have fletcher around for ever either.

in other words, they'll play the cats or saints and we'll be shipped off to perth or brisbane. if we win. if we dont win, we'll be shipped off to timbuktoo anyway.

does anyone know who we would play if by any chance we were to go through to the next round?

the tanking thing annoys me. every other club does it/did it. we won 12 games in 3 years and we would have got nothing if we'd won the 13th. its not like the pies who played finals, tanked and then played finals again. caro is probably just jealous that the tigers dont have scully or trengove. she is a tiger girl after all.

being overseas for a big chunk of the season i missed quite a few games, inc the sydney game. however my fav. moment was easily the brisbane game.......they were 4-0 and top of the ladder at the time, and we just ran riot. amazing.
