just to weigh in.
there are some clashes with teams. roos/pies, us and the bombers, cats and roos/pies... there certainly are clashes.
however, not every team clashes with every other team. common sense needs to prevail.
im soccer, teams have 2 kits. the 2nd one is not nessecarily white! if both teams are blue, can the away team not wear yellow?
for example, we clash with port adelaide. fair enough.
why cant we wear a jumper that is mostly red?
dont change the jumper unless there is a bonefide clash.
allow teams to change their jumpers but to keep their original colours if possible - just change the designs, or the ratio of colours.
there is no need for all teams to have a "white" away jumper.
this year, the saints changing jumper is fair enough. they finished 3rd, pies 1st. however the afl have now set a precedent - and this must be followed in coming years - that the higher finishing team gets to wear their home jumper in the event of a clash, regardless of if the lower finishing team is collingwood and "dont have an alternative"
