  1. As much as I'd like to see Trenners play this week ( if Jeffy doesn't come up) I think we would be better off replacing him with BenKen or ANB.
  2. I'd be pleased for Hunt if he gets the nomination but it really doesn't mean shyte, we know how good he is and we know he will be a super player for us. I'm happy with Hunt, Oliver, Trac, Harmes, Oscar and all our young kids, if Caleb Daniel wins the award, good luck to him, it won't make him a better player than our boys. I'll be happy watching Hunt streaming down the middle of the G, at full pace and slamming the ball through the goals, no one is going to worry about the rising star award then.
  3. I was at the Western Oval that day and if I remember rightly, there was a loud cheer for what seemed no apparent reason, it was in fact when Hawthorn hit the front. We knew before we left the ground that we were in the finals and it was just the best feeling you could imagine. I think it was because we had been in the wilderness for such a long time. We should have never lost the game against Hawthorn we were in front all day and by a fair margin for most of it, when they started to come back I just sat there and hoped we could hold out but it wasn't to be, like losing a test match on the last ball of the day. We will beat Carlton and Geelong and once again hope that another side does the right thing by us.
  4. Correct, the award is for a rising star and not a rising reliable player, Trac is the sort of player that should win this award, maybe even Hunt because he will be special, if the selectors can't see this then they shouldn't be on the panel. Haven't seen a lot of Mills but I heard one commentator say he will be a very reliable player but not a star, I think it was Dermie.
  5. Football blackhole (whatever that's supposed to be) is probably where somewhere someone like you should go, to suggest that a player that was one of the best on ground should be in the AFL Development league (I assume you mean VFL, the AFL don't have a development league) shows the level of your football knowledge. Troll.
  6. Few players there who aren't knocking on the door, they are smashing it down. It's going to be hard telling some of them that they're not getting promoted, on the other hand it will be hard telling someone in the one's that they are going back to Casey.
  7. It's a Melbourne Football Club supporters forum, trolls are not welcome.
  8. Good win by the boys and it gives me confidence we can bear Carlton and Geelong, we have more depth than Carlton and are harder at it than Geelong. All we need is for North to cooperate and lose their next two. We had a couple down tonight and still won easily, Vanders needs to hang on to his marks, he dropped a few easy ones tonight and Jack V needs to stop trying to outdo Ollie and just play his normal game. They are a spiteful bunch and to get Max upset takes a lot but they did it, I said to a mate at half time he has to stop letting them get under his skin. The run we get from the backline is as good as any club and a bit more poise with the delivery in to the forward line will make us awsome. Hoges will get better but we need him to lead a bit more rather than have him coming from behind and trying to jump over the pack. And during the off season, will someone teach him how to kick for goal.
  9. This is not going to be an easy game, I think we will win but we can't take it for granted.
  10. Or you can just delete all history like I do when I get the message I've read 28 articles, simple really.
  11. The win today won't help their cause, maybe Carlton will ask for a priority?
  12. Probably, but it's good to have positive articles in the media, more directed at non supporters that supporters. Isn't it nice to have some of the journos praising us instead of running us down, I'd take this any day of the week over most of the trash we've copped during the last 10 years?
  13. If you wanted to re rookie him and throw other clubs off the track, what better way than to drop him to the Dev League and show you didn't have a lot of faith in his ability to succeed. Just a thought.
  14. The AFL will help them, somehow, whether it's visible or behind the scenes and in a few years when they have their academy picks and numerous early picks, they will become a good side, then we will start to complain how the AFL helped them and did nothing for us. It's a cycle and look at us, who would have thought 3, 5 or 10 years ago we would have been as healthy as we are today.
  15. I think we will have to farewell him at the Carlton game, it would be more fitting to do it at the G than at Geelong. Perhaps a round of applause at 3/4 time or after the game if he came out on the ground, I feel very sad he won't be involved in the club in future, he has done a fantastic job for the club and even those that called him a consultant must realise that now. Go Roosy, Go Dees, we want you to be there when we raise the cup.

i think you're right, there is more than meets the eye here. “’H’ is having a couple of weeks away from the club and we’re hoping he’ll come back and do a little bit of training towards the end of the year,” Misson said.
  17. I must confess I don't know a lot about Hibbered, but is he really worth the effort? From what I've read here he had a problem playing last year because the opposition forced him on to the wrong foot and he had trouble adjusting. Who would he keep out and where would he play, Key Position or Supporting Back? I don't want to lose any of our existing players if it is for a minor upgrade, it would have to be a good trade or it might upset the dynamic of the group.
  18. One of my biggest gripes with Dunny was he would allow the ball to go out of bounds when he was clear and could have kept it in. This was, I suppose, so they could reload with a stoppage, but it may have been because he was playing it safe and didn't have the confidence to get the ball moving. The majority of the players now will do anything they can to keep the ball in play and that has nothing to do with the DOB rule, it is just the desire to play on and attack.
  19. Heard part of his interview this morning and he said he will explore every opportunity and option, that appears to me as if he is over it ar Freo and is prepared to move. Bernie is a died in the wool SA boy and has said he will go back there when he's finished football, but it didn't stop him from coming to Melbourne. He's what, 25, enough time to come here play a few years then go home, he seems like a fairly intelligent guy so I'm sure he won't be home sick and probably wouldn't want to play for the Eagles, that might be a bit difficult in a 2 team town.
  20. His Proviso Re sign Troll
  21. Treloar was a good pick up Aish hasn't set the World on fire and we pushed Howe out the door, I don't consider that great.
  22. It used to be Collingwood that were tied to every player that was rumoured to be leaving their club, they're not anymore because everyone knows that nobody wants to go to Collimgwood.
  23. It's interesting to hear the commentators that have torn us apart for the last 10 years, all of a sudden sound like they are rusted on supporters, they do it without a trace of embarrassment, especially when they praise players that they questioned when we recruited them. It's almost like, "we've always had faith in you" when we all know they hadn't. Never mind, it just shows their lack of homework and knowledge in their profession.
  24. Have to agree with most of that and I'm a bit reticent to go along with the group and hope we get Hibberd, we are probably better off developing our own talent. I'm a bit of a fan of both Pedo and Bugg and I think Bugg adds to the balance of the team, Pedo is a very handy back up Forward/Back/Ruck and I hope they keep him on for some back up. We've given some of the younger kids a break when needed and it doesn't hurt to have players like Pedo and Trenners and Jones there for insurance.
