WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - DECLAN KEILTY
Old Bear replied to Steve13's topic in Melbourne Demons
I’ve watched him quite a few times at Casey and have always felt he has something different to say Omac or Weideman in that he doesn’t drop his head if things aren’t going his way. Strong pack marks and excellent field kicking to the right position are his strengths at Casey -

Think the large lump of Cow Crap on his head that he uses to cover his bald patch is a distraction. He is worried it may fall off if he tackles -
Goal to Lewis

Don’t care that Omac was written up as one of the best at Casey last week I watched most of the game and thought he was very ordinary, they must have counted his kick outs in the stats If I was Kielty I would be spewing, he has twice the talent of Omac

Think it’s we to most of us

I’ve never been an Omac knocker Always thought he needed time to improve But after watching first half of Casey’s game The only reason he’s been played ahead of Kielty is because he’s Toms brother Kielty has it all over him in every aspect as a player

Think the Tigers will go in with a very simple game plan Kick it towards Lewis at every opportunity The rest will take care of it’s self

Agree think it’s almost a lost art at AFL level Was a basic skill taught at junior level in my time 100yrs ago

Basically he’s playing for his Superannuation And he’s been more of a negative than positive in his time at Melbourne That he’s doing his legacy damage by not retiring -

Saw him get a fair wack in the eye the first centre bounce he went for Probably didn’t help -
Box Hill Hawks v Casey Demons - VFL Round 1
Old Bear replied to KC from Casey's topic in Melbourne Demons
Having watched him closely during the practice match against Box Hill I think this is a wise move I honestly worried for his safety that day He has a very immature body and moves like a really young boy -
Needs another season at Casey Until he dominates at that level no point playing him in the AFL
-
Weideman not a natural footballer needs to spend the start of each season at Casey and continue to learn there’s more to it than mark and kick t
-
we must have a team rule that states You must handball to a teammate in a worse position and under pressure And we must handball 3 times before anyone can kick it
-
Kielty is listed 195 can play forward or back Can play minutes in the ruck and has a football brain which Frost doesn’t Was Casey’s best on Sunday Got a lot of praise from the Coach at the first and third quater huddle
-
For me Kielty was far above any of our big men Contested marks and beautiful kick and has a football brain Coach said as much in his address at the first break Pruess definitely has potential We struggled against a strong wind 2 quarter

Two hour trip from Cranebourne put me off I have had a choice of 6 different free tickets Same reason I cancelled my membership Too hard to get there by public transport Will probably buy a Casey membership tho I think the viewing there is sub standard
