  1. no Melksham is up the top of that list. his asset is our biggest weakness.
  2. this reminds when most of when demonland were giving it to chandler early this year after a couple of poor performances. not taking into account any injury concerns, game plan etc. they have shut up now.
  3. Agreed. I think we are in a critical moment for Turner. Watching the replay he was sensational down back spoiling in the air and agility on the ground, showing genuine speed to burn smaller opponents. A few more games like that and he will have gone to another level. what a conundrum with Lever coming back.
  4. glad this is getting airtime, their diving for downfield frees and ducking is atrocious. dont know why umpires continue to pay fake frees.
  5. Grundy was bordering on illegal tactics last time grabbing him and running straight into him bith the ball in the air.
  6. I will need to watch it again but he was thumping the ball forward again and again, which we needed when they were gaining ascendency. I thought he was pivotal and dominant, whereas AJ seemed to be 'halving the contest'. Gawn did get 15 contested possessions, the most from both sides. phenomenal from your ruckman. one thing that isnt mentioned too much about gawn is he is an excellent driver in heavy traffic better than most midfielders once the contest spreads. He almost always picks the right option and executes when the fleas around him fly around in different directions.
  7. agreed. at 3/4 time i though thats the best side we've played this year by the flemington straight. i thought we were playing well but they just turned on the jets when needed like they did in the grand final. I did sense though, that some lions players thought it was 'in the bag' not just celebrating but so relaxed it was like 'show time'. So glad we continued the pressure and gave it back to them. interesting they were so clean all day but once we got in front good players started fumbling under pressure.
  8. everyone buy something from her company !!
  9. what rough patch ?
  10. will have to watch it again but he maintained pressure on them with his pace and i cant remember any 'run in' goals out the back. his last 3 games were over 20 possessions so looks like an aberration. and hes learning a new position.
  11. Thing is Disco is playing extremely good footy as the third tall down back. He was critical to this win. Tmac and May look like they have full faith in him impacting and spoiling the contest over the top. He was sensational today.
  12. some stats for those interested re the Hawks. Hawthorn again won the free kick count last night but have not lost the free kick in EVERY game this year only tieing with us last week ironically. They are now +60 free kicks for the year. you read correctly +60. how is noone writing about this ? that is more than an anomaly. Mitchell says they will do things differently under his coaching. Nope that is exactly the same as under Clarko, build from the outside in, get good kickers and make up for lack of inside beasts using 'other ways' to win the contest.
  13. you are in the wrong place for that.
  14. if you typed that on draft night it would be relevant. hindsight is always with 20/20 vision.
  15. We had to play JVR and wasnt disgraced. you could defs put and argument for selecting Jefferson who was poor today.
  16. glad you are our high performance coach and know where his body is at. do tell ?
  17. I'm glad people on here aren't our coaches. First time tagging ? and by the coaches comments did an outstanding job. Bit like everyone saying Windsor is not a half back ( based on 1 or 2 games) and was outstanding down back today. Chandler is not a half forward, one of our best this year. Goodwin said he 'blinked' last year when we got injuries and went back to the defensive approach but will stay the course this time. Around the ground i thought we beat them for 3 quarters we just did not finish. simple as that. and now people just pluck any silly reason out of their hat.
  18. Yes id like the many regulars who were scathing of Chandler also in the first few rounds to formally apologise now. thank you
  19. yep hawks are again becoming elite on the outside. we need to spread to stop their run. if we give them space we will pay. We have the cattle to beat them. the one thing i see in difference is CONFIDENCE. if we get our mojo we will roll them. But thats the big 'IF'
  20. And Blakeys dad worked for the Swans. He was born with a footy in his cot so it was utterly ridiculous he got to play for the swans. Same goes for Kalani.
  21. this makes me sick. its the Clarko years all again. remember #Freekickhawthorn. Basically build an outside game and beat other talented star midfielders in contested footy by playing for free kicks. same pattern rinse and repeat.
  22. wouldnt call Kolt's 14 disposals , 4 tackles and 3 shots on goals from 76% time on ground a 'nightmare game'.
  23. whats the one things that surprised you the most, that you did not expect in an AFL environment ?
  24. turned back the clock...to last year you mean probs his best for the club.
