Which is why I’m a fan of him punching it to CHF every now and then to mix it up.

I love that the girls sing the song out on the ground.

18 inside 50’s to 3 that quarter. just dominant. I eagerly await the men playing the same way.

Holding Adelaide to 1 goal in a half is a great effort, more of the same thanks girls.

It would seem to me that if you subbed off a player due to the concussion rule, they would be excluded from next weeks game. So you’d only be using it if necessary rather than tactical or to address a specific players poor performance. I agree though with the points made above and don’t think it’s a great idea.

Mark Maclure "Soft Culture" Comments
In Harmes Way replied to Half forward flank's topic in Melbourne Demons
McClure is saying exactly what Jake Niall did in his article on the weekend - our club is less than the sum of our parts (= soft, whatever). If we had 22 champions on the field who all came off the field after a 10 goal belting and they all said "but I did my part", we've still failed because these skilled players have played more for themselves than each other. Our guys need to hold each other accountable, win their contests rather than getting sucked into others' and stick to the plan. I like the siege mentality (it's us against the world). And hopefully we have some continuity with players, because all the above is very difficult to achieve with a high turnover of players due to injury (form should be challenged rather than dropped). Even Barassi has said that our vaulted teams of the 50's weren't a team of champions but a champion team. And Norm clearly held the line with adhering to standards. -

WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - MAJAK DAW
In Harmes Way replied to Lord Nev's topic in Melbourne Demons
Don’t think so. Goody was clear in the post game presss conference that they’d be taking it slow with Majak. Had to pull himself up halfway through to include “if we take him” I was a bit surprised as I’d heard Richardson on SEN say we’d gone for Daw over Paddy McCartin because Daw was good to go for Rd 1 and this was a key selection criteria. Maybe Daw over stated his unobserved pre season? -
Yesterday wasn’t the best day to judge the emerging draftees when we got an all round smacking and the senior players we fielded didn’t shine. I don’t expect a break in player to be best on ground under those circumstances. Didn’t see this level of negativity when we beat Richmond last week. I’d find a worst three on ground thread after a good win a much more balanced set of view points.

Glad it’s sorted when I initially opened this thread, I thought Demonland had arranged a fundraiser at Spearmint Rhino -

Melbourne midfielders have to park egos

"Overall, Melbourne’s issue has been that they are a team that is less than the sum of their parts, less than the accumulated output of individuals." Beautifully put Jake. -
TEAM SELECTION: Practice Match vs Bulldogs

Just drinking straight out of the bottle. That's what this club reduces us to..... -

But 58, average should be measured with respect to the rest of the competition. We've finished 9th, 5th, 17th and 9th. The average of those is 10th, which is in the lower half of the table and therefore less than average. With respect to other coaches, Goodwin has a 33-36 win loss record (47.8%). For comparison, Beveridge is 55.2%, Chris Scott 68%, Brad Scott 50.2%, Brett Ratten 51.4%, Hardwick 58.2%, Ross Lyon 56.4%. On this metric, he is also below average. Whilst I'm glass half full and think we'll have a good year (7-10), two journos have written off Goody before years end so it's not a totally outlandish opinion that we will continue to struggle under Goody at the helm.

I can't see anybody is playing at the MCG on Sunday. Why don't they just move the Essendon game from Marvel on Saturday to the MCG on Sunday? (I'm sure there's some broadcaster issue......)
-
A bit like the ignore button on Demonland
-
I expect only members would be able to attend the Essendon game wherever it is played, so moving it only allows more spectators rather than raising additional revenue for the club.
