Now let’s go and comment on how much we need to keep Dogga and Clarry on their respective contract renewal threads. At yesterdays indigenous jumper presentation, Ky-ya explained the emu footprints were a symbol of moving forward as a club as emus can’t move backwards. I wonder if this is Shiels nickname

Welcome back Kev, I always enjoyed your track watching reports. Thanks for sharing this too....

After listening to Sam Mitchell's press conference post game on the weekend, I'm not surprised his and Yze's votes are aligned. He was gracious and articulate.

Nice argument. I'm in the camp that we need all three of TMac, Weid and BBB to be at the top of their game come finals, so giving them all a solid run of games only improves us as a team should any of the three have an injury/COVID. The arguments around TMac vs Weid and dropping one of them permanently don't really help us manage future contingencies/risk mitigation in my view. Best wishes to TMac on his 200th if selected, he was a shining light in defence for many of our dark years and his kicking for goal is eons ahead of his kicking out of defence. I hope he's picked and plays a blinder.

I agree with all that think the Narrm Dees footy club rebranding is a great idea. Gees I couldn't be prouder of our club. Hopefully the Kangaroos take on North Narrm for the round, also has a nice ring to it.

When was the last time you watched Melbourne lose?

Tom Sparrow's debut was the only highlight of that day. And it was sunny. -

That's really holding a grudge. -

Same. Just a cold, crappy day and the boys just looked flat throughout. -
I breathed a sigh of relief when I saw Bowser included.

Any thoughts on Yze taking on a captain coach role this weekend and coaching from the guts rather than the box?

So was I.

Fingers crossed we don't have a more widespread issue with COVID this week or next given Goody could well be a close contact for the whole playing group. I like that Yze has been the eyes of the operation from the coaching box - not much will need to change I wouldn't have thought, we'd just be missing Goody's clear messaging from the sideline.

Nice summary @joeboy I don't always 100% agree, but this was a good wrap.

RedLegs23 Game Day Scribble: Rnd 6 v Richmond
In Harmes Way replied to RedLegs23's topic in Melbourne Demons
And not only that, he took the decision up to the ARC so we could enjoy watching him get hit continually in the knackers for a further good couple of minutes. Backwards and forwards...... -
Where’s Tom Morris when you need him?

I wonder if he wants to be the CEO of the new Tasmanian franchise and is positioning to counteract Peter Gutwein's resignation as Tasmanian premier.

That’s easy for you to say

Welcome back WCW! Lovely to see you back and getting over the lurgy (and trolls). This snippet made me smile, because the game was depressing to watch - even with company.

Garry and Bucks on SEN this morning jokingly suggested the fourth most likely challenger to ourselves are the Casey Demons.

I don't know if you've looked at our fixture for the end of the year, but our last 8 games include trips to Adelaide, Geelong, Alice Springs, Optus Stadium in Perth and the Gabba. It will be a fair test.

Have I missed something? Next week's game is at the G right? We've only travelled twice to date.

I take any predictions from Gary Pert with a grain of salt. He was the CEO when our banged up 2018 team had a crappy pre-season and subsequent crappy 2019 season - any mention of concern from him or the board at the time? Nuh. All to suck in new members on the positive 2018 finals campaign.

On a side note, I'm hoping the umpiring department can provide clarity on whether it's a free kick when a player walks the ball over the boundary line with no opposition pressure. Langdon was pinged last week for insufficient intent, a port player in the last qtr last night wasn't. Sure it's a hard game to umpire for consistency, but these were two identical examples where the umpire could easily reach a consistent ruling. Highly frustrating.
