  1. And he was caught having a smoke in the car on the way to training. Sometimes it takes longer for the penny to drop for some more than others.
  2. Max Gawn debuted in 2011 and it wasn't until Corey Enright's 300th down at Geelong in 2015 that he monstered a game (it was his 3rd game for the year) and he took off from there. So it's not to say that progression/development is necessarily linear.
  3. Maybe, but they did name the goal kicking award after him.
  4. Weed has done himself no favours by taking John Coleman's number 10.
  5. IMO both Buddy and Kossie have a duty of care. Kossie shouldn't have elected to leave the ground in applying a bump. Buddy is 30 kg heavier than Kossie and needs to recognise he's among the taller, heavier units in the league and will potentially have significant momentum behind him when he goes past the ball and bumps an opponent and is likely to cause more damage as a result. Agree wholeheartedly with analysing potential, but I think this should be in both cases. Whilst Sam Collins had apparently sustained more damage than Bailey Smith, what's to say that Sam Collins' concussion isn't even more significant than first thought and he misses multiple weeks. On this basis, and per other's views above, I'd be happy if the "potential" analysis had visibility and assessed elements such as speed of impact, whether the action was targetted, whether the player left the ground to bump, was the action off the ball or in play, was the player > 100kg etc. If Kossie had Low upgraded to High based on this criteria, I'd be quite happy. But Buddy's bump on Collins has additional potential as well as the actual injury observed at the time of the MRO assessment.
  6. For one bounce in the 3rd qtr, we had Chandler, Nibbler, Spargs and Laurie starting in the forward line with Max and (I think) BBB. The ball came in quickly and we actually looked quite dangerous smaller. Loved the different looks we had across all lines tonight. and loved catching up with the old man for a beer or two.
  7. Clearly he should have taken an intercepting mark
  8. I’ll stay upwind thanks
  9. Perfect. Just in time to sing the song and start the trek back home in time for work on Monday.
  10. Our bottom 6 players are equivalent to their bottom 6 players, but our top 16 players [censored] all over theirs. We’ve got this.
  11. And that doesn’t take their PTSD into account
  12. I don’t rate the doggies at all. Maybe it’s because I’ve watched the 21 granny about 3000 times, but I can’t remember Maysie being the difference in that game and I wouldn’t be surprised if we kick 100 points to 7 again. and I’m with daz on the new selections/ debutants - I reckon Goody was at his best early on as a coach when he made some bold selection moves and didn’t just play it safe. It sends a great message to the whole list that they’ll get a chance
  13. The best: sitting with my old man and my boy. Three generations of varying levels of angst
  14. Doing your own version of holding the ball?
  15. Presumably Charlie Curnow must have scored 10 if they took any notice of Robbo’s top 50
  16. Whilst I loved watching Robbie Flower as a young teenager, I had a man crush on Stinga like no other (Travis Johnstone did however come close for some of his sublime passes).
  17. What a great thread, brings back some lovely memories of great players tearing (some) games apart in the afternoon sun at the G.
  18. You might think there's no plural, but I've got 6 versions of the same kick that says otherwise.
  19. I didn't bother with stats - they looked old and slow, and we carved them up. They looked ok in the 3rd qtr, but the damage was done. Gawn and Grundy both looked good inside forward 50, but the delivery was quick and flat, which certainly helped.
  20. Just watch the last half of 3rd qtr of the 2021 GF again. That helps
  21. I'm surprised that this year he hasn't followed past practice and had players from Essendon, Collingwood, Carlton and Richmond feature prominently. Only 2 from the "big" 4 clubs represented....he's slipping.
  22. Loved the unpredictable and quick forward movement of the ball. It was poetry also loved the flat, quick i50 entry kicks that Gawn/BBB could take out in front of them and left little time for the defence to setup. Feel sorry for those making way for Fritta, Viney and Salem.
  23. I’d like to see Judd McVee back up his good game against the Saints
  24. OK, but how about the 39 years before that?
