  1. Part of the problem is that the AFL looks at the 2022 fixture (somewhat) based on 2021 finish. Some teams get the benefit of coming up against teams in 2022 that didn't perform the same as 2021, which compounds the problem. Melbourne's double up games were worse than envisaged at the start of 2022 due to improvement by Collingwood and Freo who didn't make the 8 in 2021. The AFL might have hoped Geelong got better opposition from West Coast (or it was just rigged). Sydney got even luckier than having to face 2 opponents who made the 8 in 2021. This judgement in hindsight is why I like the idea of a fixture where we all play each other once and then work out the last 5 games based on ladder position at the time. It also gives the lower clubs a better chance of a win before wrapping up for the year.
  2. I hope he does, and whilst I don't condone violence, I hope he punches the living suitcase out of him.
  3. Nibbler has given his blood, sweat and vomit for the dees. No way he gets dropped.
  4. I feel for Petts and hope heโ€™s ok. im [censored] off with Zorko - Iโ€™d much rather be posting on a thread called โ€œLeverโ€™s first goal since 1935โ€
  5. If we play Sydney in the Qualifying final, I hope we perform like we did in the 1987 finals series. Played out of our skins against more highly fancied opponents and absolutely belted them. I was so happy for Robbie.
  6. Regulation 10 goal belting Im off to the veil of negativity thread
  7. I think he was taking the proverbial
  8. For who?
  9. I loved the footage on AFL360 last night showing Goody pumping up the guys in the briefing room after the game
  10. After watching our game vs Richmond on Anzac Eve, I'm convinced Max King would fit right in.
  11. Yes I'm going off the train tracks here, but why don't they schedule everyone to play everyone else once, and then have the last 5 games scheduled with top 6 sides playing each other, middle 6 sides playing each other and bottom 6 sides playing each other.
  12. Lots of good analysis on this thread. I thought the answer to the thread question was that they all won the flag.
  13. Stewart Dew - Myers Santa Jake Bowey - Christmas elf
  14. with a 10% probability according to some
  15. This thread reminds me of olisik last year where he consistently had us losing and dropping out of the 4 with everyone else winning every game. Brisbane didn't look polished last week against the Saints and would have lost if King had kicked straight. Our results over the last 8 weeks haven't been awful - R15 Beat Lions by 64, R16 Beat Crows by 29, R17 Lost to Geelong by 28, R18 Beat Port by 14, R19 Lost to Bulldogs by 10, R20 Beat Freo by 46, R21 Lost to Pies by 7 and R22 Beat Carlton by 5. If you judge us by results alone - we dropped two close ones we should have won to Bulldogs and Pies, we've won 5/8 games convincingly with really the game in the dark at the cattery the only real blemish (IMHO). With the talent we have, and our ability to win contested ball (finals style footy), we have every chance of hitting a sweet spot in the finals and I wouldn't write us off just yet (starting this Friday night).
  16. I donโ€™t know how many down field free kicks we gave away last night for a bump on the kicker after the kick, but they blew the whistle on it all night and we just kept giving them away. Clarry got pinged more than once, we should have learned and backed off.
  17. Ed Langdon would have to be a deliveroo bike rider wouldnโ€™t he?
  18. Whilst I didn't know that, it hasn't stopped me from calling them a bunch of cox
  19. Like all good lawyers, heโ€™s paid by the sentence
  20. Was it Lachie Hunter that took out half a street of parked cars?
  21. Agree with all of this. My only inclusion (forgive me if already stated) is that the player moving forward to take his set shot needs to be walking straight towards his intended target (whether it be the goal post or centre of goals). The amount of shots I've seen this year where the player is walking straight towards the middle of the point posts - and that's where it invariably goes - is both totally predicable and absolutely infuriating.
