PREGAME: Rd 01 vs Western Bulldogs
I don’t rate the doggies at all. Maybe it’s because I’ve watched the 21 granny about 3000 times, but I can’t remember Maysie being the difference in that game and I wouldn’t be surprised if we kick 100 points to 7 again. and I’m with daz on the new selections/ debutants - I reckon Goody was at his best early on as a coach when he made some bold selection moves and didn’t just play it safe. It sends a great message to the whole list that they’ll get a chance

The best: sitting with my old man and my boy. Three generations of varying levels of angst

Every AFL Player Ranked
Presumably Charlie Curnow must have scored 10 if they took any notice of Robbo’s top 50

Your Top 5 Demons Players of All Time
Whilst I loved watching Robbie Flower as a young teenager, I had a man crush on Stinga like no other (Travis Johnstone did however come close for some of his sublime passes).

Your Top 5 Demons Players of All Time
What a great thread, brings back some lovely memories of great players tearing (some) games apart in the afternoon sun at the G.

Robbo's Top 50 - 2023 Pre Season
I'm surprised that this year he hasn't followed past practice and had players from Essendon, Collingwood, Carlton and Richmond feature prominently. Only 2 from the "big" 4 clubs represented....he's slipping.

OK, but how about the 39 years before that?

Farewell Luke Jackson
If that's the case binman, then I wonder how it would have played out should Jackson have sustained a significant injury. Does the club believe he won't then be traded (a la Trengove nearly going to Richmond) and see that as a beneficial outcome and continue to play him (and scupper the Grundy trade if he stays injured). Or did they just play best available 22/23 in any given week irrespective, as we're in the premiership window so any "development" of players like JVR needs to come of the back of legitimate spots available (eg TMac injury). I find the question fascinating, as Trengove post his foot injury was never the same player for us. Risk management wise, if you know with certainty that Jackson is going, do you have an obligation to the club to nurse him and maximise your trade value.

I don't know why they'd freak out. Haven't Carlton lost Round 1 for the last 40+ years?

Farewell Luke Jackson
Don't bother with a PM my way. If you'd said to me in 2013 that we'd have a No. 3 draft pick come our way, he'd play a big part (no rose coloured glasses here) in winning us a grand final and then he'd be gone, I'd have taken it in a heart beat. I'll always be thankful to him for that, but I have no interest in what he does now or the macchinations as to why he wanted to go.

MFC Family Day: Saturday 25th February 2023
I miss the family days they used to have at Luna Park, but I’m delighted we can’t go back because we’re now a decent footy team and fans want to come along.
