  1. The club earmarked him as playing forward and ruck relief, while Gawny holds down no1 ruck. I'd say that gives him another 3+ years to grow into the role and potentially become a star forward. Maybe the kid cements his position and we pick up a cheap mature ruck after Gawn retires, who knows? You're judging a 200cm first year player recruited for his athleticism, on just 6 games? "lol" Yes, we might need a key star forward, but that remains to be seen with how Brown, Weid, Tmac, Petty & Jackson all go this year. Reassess in October.
  2. You said a "star key forward" Maybe change your username to: Pickett2______
  3. What is the purpose of your username if you think we need a star forward?
  4. Maybe finally using his hammy to chase a defender, was what caused the injury?
  5. I have it on good authority that Clarry will be a demon in 2022... .... As he doesn't want to play for a fanbase with this bloke in it:
  6. I remember Goody's mastercoach move to win the r23 Collingwood match by moving Gawny forward in the last quarter. I also remember us missing finals that year.
  7. I just hope he doesn't play Frittas paddock again
  8. A few of us also had the same thought last year, namely that he would be cheap versatile depth in all areas of the ground. ?
  9. It's the natural progression from Preuss as a forward
  10. If I recall they had finals coming up, so whaddyaknow, we'll just leave that up to the law outside of footy, no internal suspension.
  11. "6 goals in the first quarter" ... of his 4 year contract? ??
  12. Well If the MFC was a movie, it would certainly be a prison drama. We've been crawling through football fields of raw sewerage for 55 years in search of premiership freedom
  13. 18? Was it Simon Goodwin?
  14. Well I'm not saying we knowingly take on a player that will never get on the park. But you have to make some kind of radical change and take a risk, if you've persisted for two years with the same personel. BB battling to get on the park, even on that money, still fills the supporters with far more confidence and hope for the future, if he gets it right, than having Preuss lining up at CHF and the club languishing down at 11th on the ladder again.
  15. For the meagre picks we gave, it would still be worth taking him on as a project player that spends the rest of his career battling to get on the park.
  16. I popped on sports day to enjoy some schadenfreude, but all I heard was Gerard Healy questioning how there could be systemic racism because Eddie and Buckley n others there have such gentle giving hearts. Gross to hear one of The boys club that works with him spouting that rubbish, so conflicted and ignorant. Not many in the AFL media prepared to actually go hard because they walk the same aisles.
  17. I'm curious, will this alter who the club rookie lists in the pre season draft thingie? Having Petty in rehab and now Hore out, doesn't bode well for our stocks. If there were 2 spots for Deakyn and Kobe Farmer, would they now have their sights on inviting another defender to train in the next month or two and taking 1 of the other 2? Or is it too late ?
  18. It's still pretty surreal seeing him in Demon colours, like im in some weird alternate reality.
  19. What i haven't seen mentioned in this thread is the improvement and additions in coaching of other clubs in the period since 16-18. We can add Fagan, Ratten & Hinkley to the list of coaches that have been excelling latelythat weren't in 16-18. Hardwick, Scott at the top of the tree currently. Simpson, Buckley & Beveridge have stagnated, but reached a far higher level than Goodwin. Then you've got a few clubs outside the 8 that seem to be on the right track with coaching and managerial appointments. We await this year's results, but it really could be something as a simple as the field moving ahead of a coach that was excelling 2-4 years ago. ?‍♂️
  20. Did someone say Big Pharma??
  21. If he finds a passionfruit stout, then you can lock in a draw
  22. Modra to kick 10
  23. Just to nitpick, but I'd rather we play Sydney at the SCG than the MCG . They really get up for their away games against us. Bad memories. Of recent years they've been as bad at the SCG, as we've been on the MCG.
