An AA FB holds everyone, hardly a measuring stick. Either way, Weid is left to kick 4 on Tomlinson/OMac.

If you've watched Classified all year, Caro has been extremely quick to shoot down any idea of Goodwin's job being under pressure, on financial grounds, whenever it's brought up. Whether her AFL sources are in her ear or not, and with the MCG out of action in Victoria, it doesn't serve broadcasters/AFL to see the Dees improve and make finals next year.
-
Leaving aside the possibility that Goodwin will coach next year barring 2 poor losses... It would be nice to have a crack at Richmond in a final, as it was a lingering question from 2018, given our style syncs better with Richmond chaos ball; How would we have gone if Hawthorn didn't take 4th? How would we have gone in a prelim v Richmond instead of Collingwood.. TMac/Cox ? or WCE at Metricon... Yes, we probably lose by 5+ goals (or 10,), but who knows.

If he bled red and blue he'd be working towards being next in line for the captaincy, be it after Gawn retires or if a new coach shakes things up, not sooking it up like an unprofessional and wanting to leave. Talk about a bunch of apologists on this forum. (If any of these captaincy rumours are true)

Kyle Hartigan a UFA from Adelaide. 28yo and not in teams future. Works well with Lever as 2nd & 3rd talls. Free, cheap and we can focus our cap space and trades on more important needs. Put Tomlinson back on wing, he can work on his kicking over summer. Now let's get another outside mid, kpf and small forward.
-
Wing: Josh Daicos (Unsigned) - was brought up on 1st crack that the Pies won't have much to offer. Could swoop in. Elite wingman this year. Elsewhile Polec brought up elsewhere. Reportedly on the move from Crows: Kyle Hartigan (UFA) - this is a very interesting one given Levers best form was with Hartigan as a 2nd tall Narkle or Cockatoo as an outside mid to throw into the mix. Preuss to trade. Could a matched Viney RFA bid or Brayshaw trade be involved in getting Adam Saad ? Could Viney get to the Blues to help their midfield and we could prize away Curnow or McKay? Could Brayshaw get us Taberner or their first round pick? Forward line has to be chasing one of Finlayson, Ben Brown, Peter Wright or unlikely Daniher.

We could rename ourselves to the 2020 Draftmons and target 2028 as our year.

His pre game dackings really get the boys up n about.

Bang on. Hopefully they spare us (or just tone down) their critiques of other posters opinions on a new coach, list management and future direction too, given how wrong they've been on Goodwin.

ANOTHER WASTED SEASON WHAT DO WE HAVE TO LOOK FORWARD TO?
John Demonic replied to WERRIDEE's topic in Melbourne Demons
NBA playoffs are heating up. Rockets v Lakers had far more entertaining ball movement than the Cairns dross that was served up. And then AFL finals with decent quality footy being played. Feel relieved that our season is over, no more let downs. -
Is that a metaphor for the next few years? I wouldn't mind seeing Fyfe and Hogan in the finals challenging for a premiership. Beats every other club.
-
Sounds like our r22 clash in 2018.. nicnat, gaff, darling, Kennedy. ? The denialists still don't realise we've never been capable of beating a full strength premiership contender in the last few years.
-
And anyway, it was actually Adelaide that tanked that game and the points necessary to get WCE into the 8, and to get a higher pick for the eventual Lever trade
-
A neutral would prefer a WCE v WB 5v8. It will be close to embarrassing to knock off Freo & Ess and claim a final against the Eagles.

That is the most garbage fOoTy FrEnZy I've ever seen.

Tyson was worth a pick 25-35, Preuss a 30-40. I think Preuss reputation has grown and he's now a 25-30. Geelong are in a premiership window and will need to plug an immediate hole while they've got Hawkins, Danger and Selwood. They will be looking to use at least 1 first round for immediate impact. Now take into account the compromised draft and that's maybe 20 and 22 for Preuss and 26. That's a little overs, but not by much. Looking back, how much was Ottens worth and what did they actually pay for him? He was their missing piece, and one of the most valuable players on their premiership team. You'd do first round picks any day of the week to complete your list. Geelong will be desperate after richmond or WCE expose their ruck/Bliclavs circus.
-
Preuss and #21 for Geelongs two first rounders (WCE 1st from T Kelly trade) would be sweet. That's approx #15 and #17 imo They'll be desperate after Richmond's talls stretch them in the GF.

Tonight's main event is listening to Footyology and hearing Finey review his beloved Saints losing to a club he's potted all year. Hope he enjoyed Langdons performance who he has venomously derided our recruiting of.
-
You should've tipped them by 66. It's their only lucky number.

What we can get from Geelong for Preuss, has been a bit of a thought bubble this week and Nakia crossed my mind half way through the game last night while pondering the need for one more small forward/outside mid. We'd have to back ourselves to get him right of course. The Cats hopeful downfall this year at the expense of Richmond or WCE in the ruck, should give us the upper hand in having our needs met and getting overs through their desperation. We should wrangle one of their WCE T Kelly picks eg We'd give Preuss and Hawks 2nd approx #22, they'd give Cockatoo and pick 15 or 16. I don't like the idea of a straight player swap given the injury history. we should just do a straight swap for one of their 1st round picks. They should be looking to use 1 or 2 of their picks to fill immediate needs while they have Hawkins in the premiership window
-
I put us in the "Kept in it by poor Brisbane goalkicking and nearly snatched a win" category alongside the Saints.
-
Tbf many commenters were discussing Daniher after our WCE loss when Jackson did not look anywhere near ready and Tmac was in the side and not Weid for the first 5 or so matches. Our forward line looks much better now with Weid kicking 2 goals a game and Jackson settling into his role. Still would be nice to add another capable forward. If not Daniher, then someone like a Matt Taberner, who's having a great year with Freo.
