WELCOME TO DEMONLAND: DANIEL TURNER
He looks like he has the body and aerial capabilities to at least give a forward role a go, like Petty. If Turner and Petty have great games, Mitch Brown has a stinker, May returns, and Weid doesn't get picked then; We could move one of Disco or Petty into the forward line and have the ability to swing them back if needed.

Why the nickname Disco?

Edit: I guess it suggests Petty will go down to the line re fitness.

Tasmanian AFL Team
The team with the bye each week can live stream a dinner party with 5 selected players (1 leader and 4 fringe) - with pre-selectrd topics to discuss/confront each other over. At the end of the dinner, one player will be voted off the seniors list.

I wonder how long until the story involves a dwarf being set on fire.

If Pig Hibberd and Harmes were there too, it must've been some dinner 'party'

CHANGES: Rd 13 vs Collingwood
The development of JVRs game in the seniors for a few weeks/months might outweigh the marginally better output we get by adding in players without a future. We can carry an underperforming Forward like Ben Brown because he has the highest ceiling, but there's no use carrying two. We may as well develop somebody instead.

In Season - Loading/Periodisation: Put your conjecture here.
Loading as in we're building up our stores, until we shoot our load in the latter half of the year?

CHANGES: Rd 13 vs Collingwood
This could be the go. We only need a contest. Jackson has been marking well at half forward, but the next stage of his evolution, could be doing it against their 2nd tall closer to goal. Then we can have Bedford and Pickett together zipping around menacingly at their feet, and providing intense defensive pressure on the rebound.

CHANGES: Rd 13 vs Collingwood
Blind Freddy can see that we need a pack busting KPF with TMAC out of the team. If not Daw, then we perhaps need to re-visit Gawn/Jackson being the 2nd tall KPF/ruck relief, resting in the forward line while the other one rucks, and bringing in another small forward like Bedford or Chandler that can give us more defensive pressure and also come up into the midfield to help out.. So it's the 4/2 system. Although really its 3/3 as Fritsch plays that 3rd tall marking forward.

CHANGES: Rd 13 vs Collingwood
Sam Reid surely gets the gong for the Kent Kingsley Award for Spuds who perform well against us. Might've been one of the all time great KKA performances. A performance worthy of a starting gig in our forward line. If only we had the mid season trade period...

Here's a left-field idea and I await the facepalms, but can Gawn alternate his rucking with two other players who split the forward/ruck duties? Jackson/Daw up forward alongside Brown? If TMAC is out then we need a physically imposing big body forward who can clunk a mark. Or you stick to the permanent forward, whether its Gawn, Daw or Jackson.- NOT Taylor Walker
My opinion is that I don't have one. AKA Option C) The Footy Department can do whatever they see fit to improve the list and I'll trust their wisdom.- Farewell Sam Weideman
I don't have a problem trading Weid to Port (for Karl Amon) 😜 Edit: actually he's an unrestricted agent, so no trade needed- Farewell Sam Weideman
Yeah, but: https://www.afl.com.au/news/201267/top-draft-prospect-charlie-curnow-arrested-after-refusing-breath-test- Farewell Sam Weideman
Weidy is not the right guy?- TEAMS: Rd 11 vs Fremantle
The mid season trade period begun last night in secret. Out: McDonald In: Tex Walker- Farewell Sam Weideman
Technically 24, but 25 in just a month, and 26 end of season next year when he's OOC and the club has to make a call on him. I don't think he has time on his side for comingg through with the next group of players if next year isn't the one where he steps up and solidifies a spot in the best 22. Our list manager next year is going to be weighing up whether a 26 year old key forward that hasn't broken into the side, is worth the cap space, given there are alternative options like targeting a free agent or trading for a full forward in the 2023 trade period. Re-signing Weid and hoping he will be good enough to be in the team is the kind of leap of faith that could see us (in 2024) with a broken forward line connection, unable to capitalise on all of the inside 50's again like in 2019-2020, that would have us back in the middle tier pack. We'll see what happens anyway, I could be wrong and of course, hope he proves me wrong.- POSTGAME: Rd 09 vs West Coast
I decided midway through the first quarter to do something productive instead, so I did our household cooking with the game on in the background. Maybe next week for the Roos game, I can pay the bills and file some paperwork. Can't wait for the games after that!- TEAMS: Rd 09 vs West Coast
We had a taste of what that was like in the Port game - It was fantastic. It's a special kind of ruthlessness, more demeaning and deflating, than the ruthlessness of the shock n awe goal barrages we've also seen. Just completely cutting off their ability to score anything, and pip a few goals here or there on the rebound each quarter - neutrals will be bored to tears, but for us it's like watching a game of chess unfold. Sip a glass of wine and enjoy. Of course, I wouldn't mind a 100+ point thumping too. A scoreline of zero goals and whatever behinds to 154 would be a grand old payback for that prelim. - POSTGAME: Rd 12 vs Sydney
