Well I was responding to the poster that said trading only a future pick for Houston, would be a disaster. But my thoughts on this years pick: I'd rather we kept pick 5/6 and only offered a future pick, if Houston doesn't get done then so be it. A month ago I was open trading both first round picks if it was 9-10, But also if we somehow got Ports 1st round 14-18 pick back. Now that it's 5/6, and people have said the first 5 kids are all as good as each other, then we have to keep it and only offer a future 1st rounder and back ourselves to be contending next year.

And if next years pick is a 15-18 after we swapped it for Houston and drafted a gun mid with pick 5/6 this year, would it be such a big disaster?

Not to harp on but Lever 29, Tomlinson and TMAC 32 and May 33 next year. Is that not a major cause for concern? We've always had a great defence, but it can't keep on going forever. Will reach a breaking point.

McDonald has been fine, I just think why not look to the future in the KEY DEFENCE part of the ground as well, so we don't get to the middle of next year and again be swinging a defender like Petty or Turner back into defence, because 1 or 2 of our 3 X 32/33 YEAR OLD KPD's are injured. Then we're on the backfoot again reshuffling our forward line and defence. Look to the future NOW

RIP. Very sad and surreal to hear about his passing at such a young age. I also started watching the midweek tackle recently and thought it was a pretty good show, dont always agree with their opinions, but appreciated the way the show was hyper focussed in going through every single story and player and team discussion of the day without the negativity or looseness of other shows. Engaging to watch a footy discussion and he was definitely a good voice to have on there when he discussed his thoughts. Damn, life is precious folks. Hug your loved ones :(
