Tim Membrey has kicked as many goals/game as Bailey Fritsch. I'm suprised nobody wants him. One of the best pair of hands in the league, great contested mark and forward craft. JVR and MJ could do well to learn from him. With Tomlinson gone, one injury to our KPD stocks and Petty gets thrown back. Then we need a decent marking forward again. Or 9 goal/year Petty might just end up in the VFL for a year before TMAC retires, if Membrey is playing better as a key forward. Also he's apparently a pretty good clubman with good professional standards. Still has a few years left to give. We chased a 34 year old Tom Hawkins, why not a 30 year old TM for 3 years. It's fraught with danger of course, but sometimes these risks pay off.

Richmond supporter Jon Ralph wrote that article on the value of those trades. GCS would be nuts to give pick 6, let alone 6 AND 20 for Rioli and Freo would be nuts to give two firsts for Bolton. Baker is worth a pick in the teens and even many Eagles fans don't want him at a higher cost than that and would prefer to keep rebuilding from the draft! I don't think the Tigers are going to have more than 3 picks in the first round, and their supporters will be desperate to get a draft haul this year imo.

They could make this saga into a tv series like Utopia or Succession, because that's how it feels. You've got the Newspaper/Media room, the MFC room and the Petracca PR room with various characters devising various pr strategies, leaking stories, reacting to headlines/news, getting on the phone and shouting, secret meetings in wine bars, with journo's, posing for instagram stories, all with the intention of shifting narratives etc.

The media get absolutely triggered like a pack of rabid dogs when somebody has a go at them.
