How much for a Craig Turley? -
This is the year to do it I reckon. If the wishful thinking of neutrals is anything to go by: our window is shut, the culture is in crisis and we'll be back on the bottom sooner than later. So let's get some club to throw us their first rounder in the hopes that our 2025 is a high pick. A team with a glut of young kids, academy players and no need to add another, might be the way to go. With all due respect, are you having a larf? Max is a pick 4 who is going to be reaching his peak between now and the next 5 or 6 years. His ceiling is Curnow levels of potential. Would you trade Clarry for a second rounder if he was having a down year in 2020? He's worth our first this year and possibly next year, although we'd try and get that down to a 1st and future 2nd and 3rd. Or maybe you'd like to throw in Rivers instead of that 2nd? Or Maybe just a straight swap for Clarry? That is absolutely what it would take.
The entire football world thinks our window is closed, and they're been willing us to fail all season. Maybe we can leverage all that doom and negativity about our future, into trading out that future 1st for a top 10 pick this year and going to the draft with two first rounders. No matter what happens this year, we can bounce back next year and that will be aided with the addition of two really good youngsters.
You might want to let the club know that. The rest of us are just following suite that he was/is potentially on the table.
My deelusional positivity on that last quarter is that: We won and we didn't expend any unnecessary energy to maintain a 30 point win or increase it to 60. Look around the comp: Every team is building a lead and then defending it. Noticing a hell of a lot of "come backs" this year. How rare were they 5 years ago? This tells you just how much energy you expend to get a 5+ goal lead with the 2024 running game. You've got nothing left and the opposition can then chip away it it. Seems like every game bar the odd blow out. We play Brisbane on Friday and maybe that 4th quarter against North will hold us in good stead to put in a more energetic performance and have something left in the tank come the last if we're still in the game. Thoughts?

He was a very important player as their best small forward in that premiership WHILE on the minimum afl wage. How dare he cash in to provide for his family, while his short lived career is at its peak. I'm not saying he's worth the price tag, but "selling his soul" is a bit much.
