Ours haven’t come out yet so will keep an eye on it. It is due today.

Thanks Roy11 , those stats are surprising, indicates that he is super fit so another big preseason should put him in contention for a bigger role next year.
-
Pretty sure Adam that he resisted surgery earlier in the year wanting a natural rehab / recovery, but gave in in the end when it failed to improve.
-
Don’t disagree with any of the above, however Tom Sparrow May have been stifled in the role that he played, I want to see him play with some freedom ala 2021 where he played with confidence freedom and link player. Come on Spaz let’s see your best football in 2025 and beyond.

Thought the same myself Dante, it would have been a small acknowledgement to the club and team, another missed opportunity.
-
I would also like to see Harrison Petty down back but his foot injury hampered him early this year and TMac was in excellent form at CHB. Petty got better as the year went on but never really looked dangerous up forward however he did draw the No.1 defender each week. We may have to blood Jeffo off the bench next year rotating with Rooey, Disco, Fritta and Petts. !!

Nathan Jones joins MFC as an Assistant Coach

That’s a good question daisycutter considering that the club have not confirmed or denied the appointment or it’s degree of involvement. -

I imagine that Jonesy would have spent a lot of time with Richo, Simon and Max discussing our issues, expectations and where he can help improve us prior to Nathan making the decision to come on board. I am expecting that Nathan Bassett will also be coming on board so pretty sure that Jonesy will have plenty of involvement and support with our evolving game plan and forward connection. -
Ha ha that was my thought as well.

Mine to.!!

Thanks for that clarification Luci makes more sense of what has happened, Pert bought forward his retirement by six months but has agreed to stay on in a consultancy role to oversee the Caulfield project. Interesting times ahead Lucifers Hero. No doubt still a lot to play out.
-
Smug and snide Cranky, he may have had a better offer for all you know. He has resided over a flag at Pies and a Flag at Dee’s built up membership at both clubs and strong financials, so for all his faults he has made both clubs more successful.
-
I am curious and annoyed that neither the Pert resignation nor the Jones selection haven’t been announced on the MFC website, do they have paralysis, surely that is where we should have heard this information.
-
Agree Taj needs to find his niche where he is most beneficial to the team, should be fitter and stronger next year, really like the look of him and want him to succeed.

Dazzle after announcing that Nathan was a lock for the Assistant role he then threw in - “It’s taken some work to repair the wounds from 2021”. -

Tom Morris reconfirming that he is a total tool, backhanded slap in the face for Melbourne, the club need to call him out. -

Also he has been watching a hell of a lot of footy and Commenting on games and interviewing players and coaching staff, pretty sure that he would have a better idea than most of us regarding game plans, offence vs defence, etc, etc. not happy how this has been announced though. -

Welcome back Nathan - wasn’t that 302 games for MFC third in the Rising Star, 3 Keith Bluey Truscott Medals, played in the midfield for greater majority of his career and could have played in a Granny in 2021. I think that Nathan could complete a Cert 4 in coaching in his spare time. Let’s wait and see what structures we set up before Sh..T canning our former champion.- 121 replies

True BBP we will never know if they never play him, he played 19 games with Lions and starred in their Reserves so can only hope that he shows us that he can play.
-
I see Blake as a player that has three strings to his bow, fwd, back, wing plus height and athleticism.
-
Poor Gus, it’s all just to sad, what could and should have been for Gus and all of us.💕💕

That’s a good question Diamond _Jim, he never looked settled in any of his games after returning from injury. He was recruited for his footy IQ and elite disposal so he has an advantage over a lot of players, it’s up to the FD to position him to our advantage and for Jake to recapture his fitness and mojo.

Interesting player, I feel that he really needs to dominate at Casey in the same way that Sparrow and Jordon did to force their way into the seniors. Problem is there will be another 6-7 players doing the same thing, still we need our depth to continue improving for ours and Casey’s sake.

Blake Howes has the height, skills and athleticism to play half forward, half back and wing, I would like to see him swap with Trent Rivers as Riv moves into the midfield, Howes has the ability to step up into the current Riv role but does he have Riv’s determination and toughness. Show me the “Money” Blake.

Agree with a number of items you raise jnrmac, but I will go one step further - it’s going to be a Big Year for All Of Us. I am expecting to see some new and refreshed coaches Plus Gawn, Viney, May, Lever, Salem, Oliver, Petracca, Kozzie,McDonald, Melksham, Fritsch, Langdon and Petty return fit and raring to go. Plus a further improvement from Rivers, Sparrow, Bowey, McVee, Chandler, Spargo, van Rooyen, Turner, Howes, Windsor, Tholstrup, Pick 5 & Pick 9. Plus AMW, Pup Brown, Seston, Laurie, Verrall, McAdam, Adams, Woewodin, Sharp, Campbell, Fullarton and the other newbies coming our way. Potentially we have a lot of room for improvement and barring serious injuries we have a lot to look forward to.
