The boys put in another very good team effort today Billings being the standout I enjoyed watching the game day stats and DLand thread, could have been an annihilation but for a bit of wayward kicking after quarter time, Harry Sharp finished well as a sml fwd should. Love these no pressure games.👍😁

They have played this song so many times over the past 18 months SONS, they want to see us wallow in the depths like Wet Toast, Roo’s and Saints. The majority of the press are like Hyenas they attack when they see any sign of weakness.

We currently have 28 players on the list who are 25 and under, we will hopefully bring in another 4 during the draft including Oscar Berry. To strengthen our list we need to bring in another 4-5, 26+yo players, that would mean trading / delisting at least 8 players to continue the refreshment of the team.

Thanks DD when you view these team stats you can see more clearly what is happening within the team, Max is now No.1, Claz has dragged himself back up the rankings to 2nd, and Tracc 3rd where you would expect them but the most gratifying numbers are with our younger brigade and kids. Bowsa 4th, Kozzie 7th, Langford 12th (first year), Chin, Turner, McVee, Lindsay, Howes and Windsor all within the top 20. Let’s all hope that sparrow, van Rooyen, Petty, Kolt, Sharp and Jefferson can improve their rankings over the next five weeks.

Happy birthday Schwarta what a champion, burst on the scene David had it all before him, thrilled us with his ability and talent, so sad how the three ACL’s took their toll on him.

That really is the burning question jr we need to find a suitable applicant asap, we do not have a player on our list capable of holding down No.1 Ruck role and Maximus has such big shoes to fill.

Looking at Luker in a more dispassionate way he has similar traits to Daniel Turner, he has courage, strong hands, excellent kicking action, some ability and both are quite humble and likeable individuals and we picked them both up in the mid season draft which only cost us a spot on the list.

Maybe it is difficult to publicly anoint your replacement, probably will be decided by who is still standing when Max bows out. Rick is the obvious one but will depend on his ability to regain full confidence in his body. The players will have a big say in who leads them forward, we don’t know what level of leadership training the players are receiving but in a group of 40 players there will be 6-8 that see themselves as future leaders of the club. Unfortunately Angus Brayshaw was wiped out and no one has stepped into his void just yet.

Kalani White may take 2-3 years to fully mature but he has footy IQ and natural ability on his side, he will develop quickly once in the DNA and standing 200cm with a great spring could play fwd/ back or ruck.

As disappointed as this decision is and how it defies logic, I / we expected no less from the AFL joke of a system. They asked for 3 weeks and no matter what the argument and acknowledging that it wasn’t a bump Steven May still got his 3 weeks. Where is the Justice……..!!!

Thanks DD very noticeable that all our youngsters were well down- Windsor, Langford, Turner, Rooey, Sharp, Lindsay, Kolt and Jeffo whilst Milkshake was at half his recent output, and Tracc as well. Can’t win with these poor numbers.

Maybe Clayton needs to do a month with McVee’s grandfather or a professional running coach and focus on the 100/200/400m sprints, he’s young enough to adapt and could help him get his mojo back.

The thing is TC there is still a chance that Casey could play finals footy and our youngsters should play an important role in getting us there. To my mind making something of Casey’s chances is more important than playing a AFL game. Finals experience appeared out of our reach 3-4 weeks ago but now it is a distinct possibility.

Thanks KC 1998-2006 was a very successful time for the MFC without getting the chocolates, four grannies for our affiliate club in Sandy gave us something to smile about. We thought we may have a chance for a double up in 2000 but Bummers ruined those thoughts in brutal fashion.

Thanks poita - they are all probably due for their growth spurt over the next 12 months or so, a lot of boys end up taller than their fathers ,( not always but as a rule of thumb). Let’s hope that we can garner a steady flow of F/S’s similar to the Cats, Blues and Lions.👍😁
