Sorry KC I was totally invested in the team and coaching group throughout that period and didn’t involve myself in the minor theatric’s of normal clubland.😁👍

The good news is that Choco will see out his contract and finish up when the VFL finish the year and hopefully a good finals series.
  3. Huge thanks to Ghostwriter, Harvey Wallbanger, Kev Martin and all posters, I always look forward to the training reports thread, all the snippets of info on our playing group and their families, plus the more detailed reports from Harvey and Kev. Hopefully see you all back on the Pre-season training threads.👍😁

I think that what Maldonboy38 was referring to was the “calm time” 2017-2023, 7 years of relatively positive media bliss.👍

Don’t have to, plenty on the TV every night.😁👍

I’m starting to see a trend, since we pulled the Kalani White story until the AFL made the announcement , probably everything has to go via the AFL who possibly pass to their favoured media. Sceptic maybe, maybe not.
  7. Well that two premiership coaches out the door, I think that Mark Williams helped rev the club up with the DNA, set up at Casey. But understand the new coach will want his own development team around him and we need a new direction as well. Thanks Mark Choco Williams it has been a very fruitful exercise for the MFC. Flags for our AFL and VFL teams since he joined the crew. Good luck on all future endeavours Mark and thanks for your help and guidance since you joined the mighty Dees. What a great story teller and all true stories.👍😁❤️💙
  8. Such great news for the club and relief for Jeff, fancy having to barrack for Gold Coast. Thanks Kalani and Tim Lamb for bringing this about, we have all been tracking Kalani since he was a baby. His dad took three years to mature and hit his straps and what a great footballer he turned out to be. Feeling really chuffed about Kalani’s choice provides a bit of a lift for the whole club.👍❤️💙
  9. Good luck Marty Hore, so sad that you didn’t get the opportunity to play more games due to injuries. I met him at the family day at the G in 2019, he was such a friendly bloke and easy to talk with. I was happy when we picked him up the second time around but Marty has had a diabolical time with season ending injuries. Hope you have better luck with the next phase of your life Marty.👍😁
  10. And White, two short.😁👍
  11. Thanks DD jeez we only had 13 players out there having a go, instead of a bottom 6 we had a bottom 12. Very disappointing effort indeed.
  12. Thanks Ghostwriter, Harvey Wallbanger and all posters, great to hear that Seston and Henderson will be available for Finals, and I bet Chol doesn’t get cited for the hit on Maysie. I wonder what it is with the big shorts, in the early 70’s our shorts were pretty short and tight. lol.!!!
  13. Has anyone told Cam Bruce about his move back to the Dees I would have thought he would be 100% focussed on getting the Lions through a tough finals campaign and his Coach recently admitted that Cam was the one calling the shots from the Box on game days. He would be a great get but where is this coming from, Media…??
  14. He is listed at 180cm (5’11”) in old terms, fast smart and piercing left foot kick.😁
  15. TJF, Petty has copped a lot of stick on this site over the last couple of years, was nice to read something positive for a change, I just hope he says fit and healthy and continues his rise back to his better self.
  16. I feel that the reason we went so hard for Derkson last year was so we could keep Petty forward, it will be interesting whether we follow that path in the trade period. Petty was our tallest back and is now our tallest forward and I think that he, Rooey and Milkshake are gelling better since the bye. Throw in Kentfield and Jeffo to the mix next year and we may end up with a half decent fwd line with Kozzie, Tracc and Langford rotating through mid fwd as well. Certainly gives the new coach something to look forward to, wish we had picked up one of the Whitlocks up last year as well.😁
  17. Max’s effort is ginormous have we ever had such a huge gap between 1st and 2nd place??
  18. It’s been a pretty exciting five weeks (+ bye)for Casey, forcing their way into the eight and then ending 5th, they have found their mojo led by Billings, Bonner, Laurie, TC and a re-invigorated playing group, plus get a couple back from the 1’s for finals.👍😁
  19. 6 - Max Gawn 5 - Christian Salem 4 - Trent Rivers 3 - Jake Bowey 2 - Christian Petracca 1 - Jacob van Rooyen Then JV 13 tackles, Claz and Spaz. Very poor in the first half backs were up against it and most failed, Gunstan master class (7.4) phew…!!! That 1st quarter was a killer, Mayzie had a stinker 250th
  20. Bravo Fork ‘em, Robbie, Ronnie and Robbo. Three of the best.
  21. Steven May’s 250th Game against the Hawks, big crowd at the G, MFC replacement game. He’s had to sit out the last three games 1 due to concussion the other 2 MRO misfire. He is a big in and Sharp has pace that we lack, Sharp will help with our transition game now and going forward. The selection panel are smarter than most on here and are hoping to push the Hollywood hawkes all the way.
  22. Green, Smith and Guera are a given as is Richardson as FD Manager, Parnissi is a great get ( Storm 17 final series), Jobe Watson 220 game former Captain, I have no issue with and the HR Leader will make sure it is conducted fairly. Should deliver a high quality candidate for our club. Doesn’t matter who is on the panel there will always be critics, personally I am happy that the Panel has been selected so quickly and now - Let the Process Begin, time and tide wait for no person.
  23. Agree Deanox, when the clubs fielded U18, Reserves and Seniors all the best kids had an avenue if they were good enough. A lot now fall by the wayside if don’t make the U16-U18’s Coates League. Once you got into the Club environment you had access to better coaching, facilities, etc.
  24. Very very impressed with Simon tonight, he bought us all so much joy and happiness in 2021, he is so professional, speaks so well, no humming or Harring, non critical and clearly believes that we as a football team are on the way back. As previously mentioned I liked that he referred to Peter Jackson again and thanked him for the six years of clean air (alignment) that he provided to the club during our rebuild and that he is looking forward to working with an AFL club that is building for success.
  25. Thanks DD some really good signs starting to emerge up from 2024 numbers, Max is still improving, Claz and Salo having better years, Tracc still below his best but better than I expected. Bowey Pickett, Chandler, Rivers, Disco, Langford, Lindsay all on the rise and what about Culley’s first two games.!!!
