  1. So true KDF the Great Depression left the population fairly lean and mean, add 6 years of WW2 with food rationing and no such thing as fast food outlets, just basic necessities and yet they got through it. I have watched a lot of history including WW1 & 2 footage all the troops and populace on both sides were lean fit and resilient.
  2. I am really looking forward to seeing how our new forward line coach can change up our forward 50, we have the talent but lack the technique to adequately block for each other, false leads, making space, physically hurting our opponents, getting the ball in over the defensive screen quicker will see a fit and healthy Bailey Fritsch back to his best. Troy Chaplin I want a forward 50 Circa 2018.
  3. He is a very good man is our Brad Green he puts our club before anything else, what more could you ask.
  4. A minor part in the first a major part in the second.
  5. I just contacted Membership and advised them that payment hadn’t come out of my accounts on 01/11/24, cheerful young fella says oh yes they have, your membership’s are linked with your daughters and she has been debited. I said she won’t be happy about that, then said that has now been fixed Mr H and your memberships will now be charged to your accounts. I said thank you I will sort it out with my daughter. It all took about 2 minutes.😁😁😁
  6. Jake Melksham brings a lot to the club toughness, leadership, experience and footy smarts. Hope he stays on the bench when not playing to provide that forward leadership.
  7. Yes I saw that on the news, will be interesting to see the make up of our Leadership Group next year.
  8. Ha ha what’s the issue?
  9. Sorry to hear that you haven’t been well LITD, hope you are on the mend. As it stands we have JVR, Petty, Disco and an improving Jefferson as tall forwards Will Verrall, Tom Fullarton as ruck/ forwards and Luker Kentfield as a 19 yo developing tall. Throw in Fritsch, Kozzie, Chandler, Sharp, Sparrow, Tholstrup and Petracca plus Picks 5 & 9 I believe that we have potentially all the cogs that we need to make a very capable forward machine in 2025.
  10. To me Disco is a bit of a wild card plays back and seemingly forward equally well loved his game against Gold Coast, showed some flair and accuracy he certainly surprised Petty and The Suns backs. Hope he keeps on improving he has a strongish body that could take him far.
  11. I have very high hopes for Koltyn Tholstrup he still has a way to go and is more a fwd/mid but I expect that he will roll into the midfield more as he builds his body and engine.
  12. One of my favourites Jake Lever certainly was hampered by injury this year, still played some excellent games for us, he will be hurting at the way we finished our year. I am expecting a big year from Jake in ‘25 and our whole team.
  13. Having watched our super hero play indomitable footy year after year it was very hard to watch Clayton this year, unfit injured constant headlines and derision from the media pack. So looking forward to seeing Clayton Clarry Oliver back to his peak fitness and enjoying his footy surrounded by a group of energetic enthusiastic youngsters following in his footsteps. Comeon down Champ.
  14. Was that the night Modra nailed us in the second half?
  15. No Bin but his brother Scott woof woof did.
  16. What’s not to like about Jacob van Rooyen, looks great, can take a strong mark, kicks straight and is good below his knees and brings the crowd to their feet. He’s made of the right stuff and hopefully becomes a 50 goal a year forward for us.
  17. Agree DemonWheels, he is so important to our club, our hopes and us supporters, having fallen out of love with us we have to hope like mad it’s not terminal. I am hoping that when Christian gets back to the club and is surrounded by his team mates and coaching team that we can rekindle the love affair with the MFC.
  18. Their rebuild is almost complete, they will win a lot more games going forward, they made the same mistake Dees made delisting and retiring all their older heads over a short time span and their earlier recruiting was slip shod. They now have a lot of elite talent and a good well supported coach, win games and it all turns quickly.
  19. I checked him out on Demonwiki Adam, he played a lot of footy with Parkdale and Sandy and has been coaching at St Bedes since 2011, also coached Parkdale to a flag, was also coaching VFL & VFLW at Casey, took over the senior role when Jade Rawlings moved to AFL but became redundant due to Covid when VFL closed down in 2020. Must have very good footy development skills to have stayed the course probably works in close with the DNA under Choco as well. Interesting man and school teacher as well, augurs well for our younger brigade. That was also an area that the FD review honed in on, year 1-3 player development and leadership.
  20. It has been mentioned a number of times already But I want to reiterate how great it is to receive regular email updates from our President that are pleasant, firm, concise informative and timely that actually address our concerns and ease our anxiety. Hard to believe this man was that pimply faced 18 year old kid that kicked 4 goals for us in that win over Carlton in the elimination final in 2000. He has stepped up again when we needed him most.
  21. Agree BBP I have a lot of faith in Troy Chaplin, he has been excellent with our backline group and team defence hopefully he is just as successful in the forward line.
  22. Received my email from the club it is a big read, interesting that midfield has Sam Radford and Nathan Jones sharing midfield coaching duties with Jonesy taking on the stoppage role, so pretty exciting.
  23. I agree with the 2nd part of your response Ted but it’s not the Pies or Media that are paying for his services, hopefully we as a club can resolve our differences.
