Forward line questions
I know this is a Fwd Line thread but Iβll tell you what I believe is a huge improvement on last year, our Midfield setup is looking far superior now that Jones and Radford have taken control. Some of our setups last year allowed the opposition to continually waltz the ball out of the middle with little or no opposition, cost us the last game against GWS. We really missed Adem Yze last year.

Forward line questions
Yet!! Bluey, give them time to gel we have to work out who our best fwdβs are, ie, Rooey, Disco, Jefferson, AJ, Langford, Kolt, Tracc, Culley plus what mix of smalls in Kozzie, Chin, Sharpe, Henderson, Pup. We have a lot of options but need to quickly identify the best group going forward.

PRESEASON TRAINING: Thursday 6th March 2025
We really need to get a Demonlander on the FD payroll in an assistant Media Officer role, that would assist our Training reports immensely. What do you think DannyZ and Redleg. πππ

PRESEASON TRAINING: Friday 7th March 2025
Big thanks Ghostwriter, Demons1858, Demon Jack, Harvey Wallbanger & Kev if you are there, plus all posters and special comments. Pretty light run today, great to hear that Rooey, Petty and Spargs are all in full training and Kolt is back training lightly in boots and hopeful that Jai isnβt seriously injured.ππ

He was training in the gallery shots on the Dees website, looked fine, also the Kolt looked good running and kicking.

Ben Brown appointed Head of Development for Essendon AFLW
Huge thanks to BBB and his family for what they bought to the MFC, so important for us in our drought breaking year. Although I would prefer that Ben stayed at Melbourne there are clubs out there that need him more than us. Goodbye BBB letβs hope that you can reunite with us at a later stage in your career.β€οΈππͺ

Casey Demons - offseason 2024/5
Thanks SONS that is further great news, Casey are getting back in the Groove and are treating our VFL side in a more professional manner. Hopefully as a result of our EOS Reviews. Success breeds success and vice versa.ππ

Luke Jackson back to Victoria?
It has to be a joke surely, homesick kid leaves his Premiership mates to go home, heβs not coming back.βπ

POSTGAME: Practice Match vs Fremantle
We were out all afternoon and had visitors last night so I was just sneaking a look at the player stats during the game, I thought that Chandler and Disco must have been injured as their stats werenβt moving like everyone elseβs. I watched the game when everyone left. Surprised that no one is mentioning Steven May, he was brilliant as was Salem, Tracc, Clayton, Mr Ed, Max and Spaz. Boweyβs turnovers really stood out as they cost us dearly, as did Billings lack of finishing skills, what was Fritta thinking. His job is finishing. Windsor, Lindsay, Langford, Sharpe and AJ will all be better for the run. We sorely missed Rooey, Petty, TMac and Judd McVee. Letβs hope that Jack Henderson can step up to the plate. The big takeaway for me is our fitness, we ran the game out in 32+ degree heat on the other side of the country and had 14 shots for goal in the last quarter but only managed 5.9. We won all the contested KPIβs and had 63 inside 50βs, we are on the way back. ππ

Kudos Brad Green
You really have to love Brad Green, not only a champion player (who could forget his brilliance against Carlton in that qualifying final in 2000) a great captain, a committed Melbourne person and now an inspirational, generous and thoughtful President. Bravo Brad Green.β€οΈπ

Stop it youβre killing me β. Letβs fret when or if it happens. Freo and Weagles arenβt the Godfathers of AFL.

Information for Rd 01 vs GWS
I was there as well didnβt we set a new record for poor attendance at Telstra Dome, exceptionally poor turnout even for then.!!

Welcome to Demonland: Jai Culley
I think it will come down to how Jai continues to perform in the Casey midfield, but if he regains his former touch he provides coverage for our three big mids in Tracc, Clayton and Riv plus Langford. Virtually an Ace in the hole.!!

Welcome to Demonland: Jai Culley
No I donβt think he is fighting for Spazβs spot Roost it far, Tommy is smaller and faster and is now battle hardened and I am expecting him to get a bigger role going forward. Jai is a much bigger unit at 194cm inside mid forward, he is basically the same height as Rooey, Disco, Jefferson and Luker Kentfield, plus he is well developed after being on an AFL list for a number of years. If he can recapture his earlier form he and Langford could really boost our midfield group.

Welcome to Demonland: Jai Culley
Recruited No.1 in 2022 mid season Draft, won a Rising Star Nomination in R6 2023 then ruptured his ACL in Round 8. Eagles delisted him at the end of 2024, played 12 games and kicked 7 goals for them. He may have taken a bit longer to get over his injury?

Welcome to Demonland: Jai Culley
And what a great 22nd Birthday it is for Jai and his family I would imagine. Did the boys train today Ghostwriter or are they still recovering from Saturdayβs heat? pS( that was great that you caught up with Ricky Menthaβs family including his Nan at Arden St, sound like a really lovely close family.ππ
