  1. What a miserable effort after the last 3 weeks playing good tough footy, they outrun us, out marked us, worked harder and played smarter?? a number of their faster types can run flat out and still deliver the ball accurately? We lacked speed and footy smarts!!
  2. I agree with previous posters we cannot afford to take anyone into this game that is not super fit, the Saints ran us off our feet in our last encounter at the G, they showed us up with their run and spread but confidant that our coaches will be on top of that this time around. Gus apart from his opening stanza is playing without rhythm and may need a couple of weeks back at Casey to blow out the cobwebs but who to bring in?
  3. Dunny stiffens up the back line and his long penetrating kicks get the ball the hell out of the enemy's forward 50 with ease, we have played so much better with him in the team and hopefully at 28 we can get another 2-3 years from him. He has battled through the dark times, let him enjoy a bit of sunshine like the rest of us!!!
  4. Yes I watched it again today (I am on night shift), it was a strange look as he ran back towards the centre. I watched his interview as well and he has his confidence back and his Mojo. Go Dom
  5. Thanks for those stat's KC greatly appreciated, looks like JT had a pearler 140 dream team points, I spotted him in the Ryder Room Sunday night surrounded by Dee supporters and he looks in top shape. However it won't be Tyson that will be replaced as I thought Dom played his best game so far for MFC against the Tiges on Sunday night but there will always be an opening for a tough, smart player like JT in the Dee's line up. Go Casey Go Dee's
  6. 6 - Viney 5 - Gawn 4 - Tyson 3 - Vince 2 - Kent 1 - TMac Apologies to - N.Jones, Garlett, Watts, Lumumba, Jetta & Pedo
  7. Unless we have injuries it would be hard to justify dropping anyone from Sunday nights game, they all did their bit and played like a TEAM, WINNING TEAM!!! I am struggling with the fact that we have recruited and developed such great depth in such a short time frame, we could be on the cusp of something great. What an amazing turn around from our previous 3-4 years pre- Roo's
  8. Well what a night it was, fabulous start with the four horseman with the flame, lighting the cauldron, the Last Post hauntingly beautiful, both teams running through the banner together. A tough hard contest by both sides but with Our Boys dominating every stat except tackles (broke even), we kicked away with brilliant play they dragged us back with some help from the umps, however, when ever we were challenged we were able to rally through great team work and individual efforts. I found it exhilarating and to be up in the stands surrounded by all those happy excited faces that I have become so familiar with over the years and to hear them all celebrating every effort and every goal right up until the end and then the joy of singing our 'Song" over and over again until the team finally went down the race. Getting out of the car park was a nightmare but good opportunity to listen to the commentators praising our team for a change. When we finally got home we watched the last quarter then went off to bed with a great inner glow. Go you mighty Demons!!!!
  9. If only we would keep running it down the middle we could have had a far greater lead. Go dee's
  10. We all loved Howe'y when he was soaring above the packs and taking those great spekkies even if he usually hand balled it off to no avail. We loved him because he made us feel good when we had little to smile about because he was our's. Now he is Their's and the love is gone. But not the memories!!!!
  11. I agree with jackaub and the rest of the crew that had a closer look at Frost, he got better as the game wore on and as the pies tired, he was in everything. I have watched the game twice now and the 1st quarter 3 times I have a nice inner glow that I have not had for about 10 years. Go Dee's
  12. No one likes to be proven wrong - But you are WRONG Dwayne!!!!!
  13. In's - Vince & Garlett Out's - I agree give Oliver a weeks rest and if Gus comes up, it's either Matt Jones or Hunt both very unlucky. I would not drop Bugg, Lumumba or Frost.
  14. 6 - Viney 5 - watts 4 - Gawn 3 - McDonald 2 - Tyson 1 - N. Jones Apologies - Lumumba, Wagner, Pedo & Frosty
  15. 6 - Gawn 5 - Viney 4 - Vince 3 - Hogan 2 - Jetta 1 - Oliver
  16. Deecisive - I agree that the umpiring did not cost us the game but I found it hard not to comment on the superior umpiring displayed during the GWS vs Cats game yesterday.
  17. What a total disappointment , 10 minutes into the 1st quarter you could see that we were not on and it was only their poor kicking that kept us in the game and when the "porn star" out marked Hogan, T Mack & Col you just wondered what the hell is going on and where is Dunne. He could have cleared the congestion with his long kicking and hardness at the ball. It was just a lamentable effort. Surely our boys are not tired already???
  18. Another great article by Flanagan, he gets to the core of a player, great read. Thanks for sharing it with us LH, Max is one of those players that all supporters cherish and hope and hope that they will get the very best out of themselves and did he come good with a rush down at the Cattery last year.
  19. I went along for a look on Sunday with my Daughter and her boyfriend and despite the errors from both sides thought that it was a fast and entertaining game with lots of pressure and we did not cave in at any time, we looked faster, harder and more dangerous than we have for a very long time. when ever they got a sniff the boys were able to shut them down and kick a couple of quick goals to keep them at bay. I had the Saints on a level par with the Dee's but not any more our up side with CP5, Vanders, Gus & JT to name but a few now puts us well ahead. Our team is kind of reminiscent of our 1998 side with Whitey, Powell and a very young Travis Johnstone coming in at No1 in the draft to join a young group of budding stars. I don't want to Mozz them but I am getting very excited about our prospects going forward, as I was in 1998.
  20. I like the comparison with "Chappie" if he can reach those heady heights we have an AA player on our hands which improves our chances of playing finals sooner rather than later.
  21. Thanks All for the great reports on Training activities, they are greatly appreciated, great insights, photo's, etc. However, I am having difficulty locating the thread that relates to the 3Km Time Trial conducted last week on MFC Website and here on Demonland site, there was some reference to Herald Sun report but that was it. Can you please point me in the right direction?
  22. How good is it being represented by Glen Bartlett and Peter Jackson at the GM you can now start to sense the strength that is steadily growing at the MFC. After our last two faulty starts we are about to become a meaningful Club again. Wahoooo!!!
  23. That was awesome 666 almost like being there, the "Boys" are looking fit and strong. Thanks for your great efforts, looking forward to post Xmas.
  24. I have been reading Demonland posts for the past couple of years and really enjoy the way that all contributors "go at it". Being a die hard Dee supporter (18 year member) I cant get enough info on what I think is happening and what is really happening inside the MFC Zone. I am now a fully paid up member and now look forward to a reading all and sundry posts without those pangs of guilt at not being a paid up member.
