I didn’t have the privilege of seeing him play but I have read so much about that extraordinary golden era for MFC and Laurie Mithen, RDB big Bob Johnson, etc. under Norm Smith bought us so much glory it was really hard to fathom until 2021. RIP Laurie Mithen Champion and Legend of the MFC.❤️💙💕

I agree DD this group have the potential to continue to achieve at the highest level for a number of years and 3 - 5 years to my mind both rewards Simon for his achievements and provides the incentive to keep building the team into the future for further success.

Thanks Deespicable that has been a thoroughly enjoyable series and a great trip down memory lane. We have had so many great players at MFC, all deserve to be there and I can’t fault your final 20. I hope that I am still around to see the re- ranking of the list when this current crop of players hang up their boots. It is a very intriguing topic.!!

A fit JV is one of our three top bulls, the three of them work so hard for each other, what great role models they are for our younger brigade and they all acknowledge that Harmsey, ANB, Langdon, Gus, Sparrow & JJ make it possible for them to shine. JV has become a great leader and selfless team player. Todd would be mighty proud of his boy.!!!

We shouldn’t fear any team, however every team will be looking at us, trying to blunt our game plan and copying parts of our game that they think they can do better but it is the total package that they have to beat. We now have 30 odd players that know what it takes to maintain the culture and desire to be the best. We will have flat spots and lose games we should win but I think that we should be looking at 18 wins and top two finish. I also agree that we can get better, our forward line was our weakest line early last year but not anymore. Feeling pretty Bullish actually.!!!!!

I just watched the Training Gallery from todays session and you can’t help but love this group of ours whenever you see them working their butts off it takes you back to the 25/09/2021. They make me feel so proud and happy.!!

Thanks CHF that is a great summation of our current list, I agree that a young backup ruckman has to be a priority for us and as mentioned we have Howes, Rosman, JVR and Turner who have a mix of height, pace, skills and footy IQ to develop as needed. Have we ever had a better list.!!!!!!

All that I can say WJ / all the better for MFC he fills a need and will be much better than his Ranking. Probably closer to 10 than where we snagged him. Good old glandular fever.!!👍😂🤘

I remember seeing Clarry pick the ball up one handed in a pack very early in his career and I was pleasantly surprised how easy he made it look. I think that JVR is showing that he is a level above the rest a bit more special.!!
