  1. Seriously? Wilshere for one was injured his entire career and out on loan then left permanently during Burgess’ time at Arsenal. I think you should also understand what caused the injuries to Wellback, Ramsey & others before making such an ill-informed comment. Just embarrassing.
  2. What about those that intermittently do both (like myself), or does your lifelong principle only allow for absolutes? So you presumably then hold little regard for the bloke you’ve listed at number three, who a few years ago had blown out & had to be given a strict fitness program himself to turn it around? His brother has never been accused of being skinny either.
  3. You’d be thinking of Tim Harrington mate.
  4. It’s something Collingwood exploited last week with obvious inside knowledge of his strengths and weaknesses.
  5. Can’t see how Hore replaces Neville. He might take intercept marks but he hasn’t locked anyone down yet, and is suspect one-on-one. Hore has good points, but don’t let that distract from the reality that he has deficiencies.
  6. The cats went hard at Lily to pinch her from us, they thought they’d get her in the end, but she stayed with us, in part because of the culture we’ve developed with our AFLW team. It doesn’t make a great photo, but does any seriously give a F?
  7. We have to use a first round pick this year. That’s not to say we can’t trade our early 1st round pick for a need plus a much later one, although I doubt we’d get a good enough return to justify it. We could revisit the Oliver-Weideman strategy however. Which teams have an upcoming academy/FS selection prospect this year?
  8. Geelong think they’ll get him.
  9. Hirst would be my choice with pick 3. Dunkley if Hirst is gone.
  10. You’re right, they’re not.
  11. Definitely won’t be filling gaps for a tilt at the flag, that’s for sure
  12. Crossing my fingers that Hirst is available at our selection. Not so much for the romance of a supporter playing for our club, but much moreso for the fact his agility is his strength and I see him as a similar type to Hannan, whose absence has been heavily understated in regards to its impact on our performance. Sadly i think he’ll be gone by the time our pick comes around.
  13. It’s a little naive to think the club haven’t had the same ideas and haven’t tried to implement what you’re talking about. As someone once said, there’s never a shortage of good ideas inside a footy club, but you have to pick and choose carefully which ones to spend your limited resources on trying to achieve.
  14. Not at all. To say “he is just doing his job” is a cop out. He’s not living in abject poverty and forced into this life. It is his chosen profession and he embraces it with vigour. He has made a lifestyle choice to be a parasite for his own glory, financial gain, or satisfaction. He’s allowed to, but he’s a [censored] bloke for doing it.
  15. Not confirmed, but I think he may have split up with his missus. What is a reasonable response in that scenario?
  16. Seriously? Unless he had to be carried home, this is so overblown.
  17. It's not nice to hear it, but who could fault the sentiment based on our last 10 years? Don't sweat the small stuff; this is small stuff.
  18. Opposition supporters may not know, but think other clubs definitely do.
  19. I beg to differ, and I wouldn’t trade him for anything less than a top 10.
  20. It’s correct - we’ve been astute with our payment structuring and have the room. Hence why Weideman’s manager thinks he can ask for $700k.
  21. Petracca needs to do what Billings did last preseason, and many more have done before him. Walk the walk, put in the effort, and take control of his own destiny when it comes to getting the best out of yourself. If he isn’t prepared to do that by the time this upcoming offseason rolls around, then move him on. It’s time to be a man who stands on his own 2 feet.
  22. Not sure, haven’t read the article, just going off what I know.
  23. I think you’ll find it was originally pushed by the clubs dietician/nutriotionist for the whole playing group, and then Viney decided he had noticed the benefits to the point that he continued doing it off his own bat, with their consultation. Any concerns would be coming from a position of ignorance.
