Saw something in the last week where tom was doing some odd big-toe-focused stretches in the gym. Surely it has been an issue and they are just managing it. Wouldn’t say the sky is falling.

He’s tougher, harder, more selfless, has more impact on contests, etc. Of course this appraisal is all based on both of them at this precise point in time, irrespective of mid-term past performance. However Pedersen made a career out of getting cheap touches and goals, Smith has done the opposite.

Mate, Smith is a better forward than Pedersen, and the coaching dept had informed Pedersen his future on the list depended on his ability to perform as a defender, so they obviously agreed. Both probably not up to it, but Smith a better forward. Not much else to it.

Well, that is because “Because I do” is not actually evidence, and was never intended as such. Mate, if you can’t see with your own eyes, and are trying to rely on stats to form an opinion, your opinion is of little interest to me. Feel free to carry on.

Because I do, and so it seems does the footy dept. Pedersen was a poor option as forward and didn’t perform. His only value lied in his ability to be a mobile back-up ruckman, and we no longer had the need for that with Preuss coming on board.

It’s the right option if you value Tim Smith as a forward higher than Pedersen, and in my opinion we should, and do.

I reckon that’s a bit unfair on the current generation. Previous generations would have been just as bad if the technology was available to them.

Preuss to play approx 20 games. The matchup against the Goose Duo to strike absolute fear into opposing ruckmen weeks out. Gawn was hard enough on his own. 4. Frost to seek opportunities elsewhere at season’s end, after playing < 3 AFL games. 5. Sparrow to play >5 games, earning comparisons to Luke Parker. Healthy competition for spots means he doesn’t play as many AFL games as he probably deserves to. 6. Joel Smith to entrench his place in the first 22 as a tweener utility that can play anywhere. 7. Jeffy Garlett to retire after not earning a single game for the season. 8. Fritsch takes it to another level.

As handy as Pedo was at times, he was still soft. Happy to move on but thank him for his efforts.

Kolo will have you quickly forgetting that Gaff was even a possibility.

Taylor feels like another Ben Lennon. Don’t think we need an under-sized marking forward that can only be a part-time mid at junior level. I’d roll the dice with Bytel’s injuries at this point, but I don’t really have a clue. The important thing is the right cultural fit.

Sydney are masters of this. They’ll take O’Halloran, I know it.

Bugger. With Swans trading back into the 2nd round, I can just imagine them pinching the player we want.

I don’t for a second believe that O’Halloran will fall into our laps... however there is a lot of quality left around our pick and I feel like we’ve got a good chance of unearthing a Luke Parker type pick. Hell, O’Halloran will probably be available and we’ll go for someone else. I just feel he’s a can’t miss prospect & should go much earlier.

I went to that game and [censored] a lot of people off in the crowd because I was barracking so hard for Freo, but that was only because they were playing against Geelong. I wish them every failure.

Ely Smith doesn’t have half the polish of Clarry. Zac Foot is a really interesting one. Looks great in highlights, although I understand consistency is his issue. Hearing his backstory, he just feels like a Jason Taylor pick. Not sure why most of these “draft experts” don’t rate O’Halloran higher. I think he could easily be taken around the top ten.

Barring a trade, I’d probably give up hope of us getting this kid.
