  1. Are you serious? You are comparing a midfielder to a key forward this year mate which is absolutely ridiculous
  2. He was touted last year along with Parish to go high in this years draft. The reason why he has dropped is because he didn't have a good champions like he did last year according to the draft experts. But Tucker definitely was talked about a top pick last year.
  3. And i hope he does but unfortunately it not going to be with us. Pick 4 for 27 games isn't really much of a success. This why Parish will be a good pick up for ys because he is not your not soft outside type. The kid actually goes in hard and likes to win the footy inside and out. And he is a footballer first before athlete which is something we haven't heard much with our draftees in the past.
  4. I would like to keep Michie as i thought he was starting to show something towards the end. But i have a feeling he actually might get delisted.. You do have to shake your head though that they gave Dean Terlich a 2 year deal off the back of an ordinary year last year and then to play 0 games makes it even worse. I wonder whether they will pay him out Michael Evans style because there honestly no hope of him getting a game next year at all especially with Bugg and Melksham brought in to play off a half back.
  5. Tac cup level? You talking about Francis or Clayton Oliver?
  6. Nothing would excite me more then Trengove mak8ng it back to footy the same way Robbie Gray did. He deserves the success thats brewing within the next couple of years.
  7. Atleast Richmond got 108 games out of tambling and made a contribution every now and then..We got absolutely SFA back..
  8. Ollie Wines to Melbourne was just made to happen though. Family friends with the Viney and hrew up with Jack from his Moama days.. Wines and Viney would have set our midfield up for 10 ywars..Sigh..
  9. Nah.. the selection of Toumpas over Ollie Wines is officially a massive debacle..
  10. Thought i read somewhere that in an under 16s grand final Joel kicked something like 9 goals?
  11. Last year he was touted as a potential number 1 draft pick. Fell away a bit this year but if the talls are taken before pick 7 id happily jump at the opportunity on this kid. Hard as nails Half back / midfielder who had a 15.3 beep test and provides run and carry off a half back with his neat disposal. Id probably compare him to Christian Salem. Will eventually turn into a midfielder and i know Roos has a big emphasis on players who can be versitile and play in multiple positions. Captained North Ballarat rebels in the under 18s game and also Australia in the VFL game so he has huge leadership credentials. Also something i found very interesting was i just read the AFL going places that Callum Twomey does and it stated that in the article it talks about him coming out of the meeting getting a fair wack from his with alot of recruiters for his performance as a captain in the VFL game was ordinary. So feeling down and dejected Jason Taylor could see he was upset and pulled him aside and gave him some words of encouragement and to keep his head up and focus on next week. Thought it was very good of Taylor and shows the qaulity in the bloke we have.
  12. The 'Meet Charlie Curnow' profile and video is up on the AFL website and they show little snippets of him playing. Personally just watching the small footage he has a bit of Jesse Hogan about him.. now not saying he will turn out like him but just his body on body work and seem to get up the field a bit. There is definitely some potential locked away there.
  13. Trained at the Dees as part of his AIS scholarship along with Josh Schache and Harley Balic. A lot of Darren Glass in the way he plays but I don't think we need any more backline players considering we have Frost who is a monster and Oscar McDonald who is developing fine and showed real promise down back.
  14. Curnow getting a 14.5 beep test for someone as big as he is 191cm and 95kg will definitely hold him on good stead. Nothing worse as a defender then your opponent running you absolutely ragged up and down the ground and this is what Jonathan Brown use to do. Him and Hogan pushing up and back from each contest will certainly wear you down.
  15. Exactly he kills us everytime we go forward. And the one thing i noticed and i thought it was a telling point was against Collingwood round 18 there were numerous times Dawes got out by himself heading towards goal and yet they refused to kick it to him and he was starting to get frustrated. This clearly pointed out that his own teamates have completely no faith in him going forward .
  16. Fine. Jonathan Brown is one of the best CHF of the modern era. Im sure if you went up to him and said not all key forwards are there to kick goals he would tell you to stick it where the sun don't shine.
  17. Not all forwards are there to kicks goals..FMD now i have heard it all!! Imagine trying to explain this to Tony Lockett or Garry Ablett. They would simply tell you are absolutely out of your depth, which you are really. Key Forwards are there to provide a target and and an Avenue to kick to. While some forwards will draw opponents away to open up space, they will then try to wheel back around and become another option closer to goal. The smart forwards CHF still kick goals.. Dawes simply does NOT kick enough goals for some who is a premiership player like you harp on about. Answer me this? When was the last time he kicked 4 in a game?
  18. Ahh the old he is a premiership player so must means he is a gun.. little fact for you, Shannon Motlop Mitch Morton Trent West Steven Armstrong and Jonathon Simpkin who are all spuds that get carried through superstars in their team.Dawed is a laughing stock because he is a dumb [censored] and makes the simplest of errors. Didn't he win some embarrassing award from that fox footy show for spudding it up somehow? Lol.. Collingwood fans were and still laughing at us for how much and the money we gave up for this dinosaur. Doesn't really matter anymore anyways it will be his last year in 2016.
  19. Completely disagree on Pedersen. No one is saying Pedersen is a star at all. But he is alot better then Dawes simply because he can actually mark the ball and alot more versitile as he can also play down back. Pedersen is a one grab mark and well Dawes is..?? No coincidence that melbourne supporters call him concrete hands. Personally i think Dawes is one of the worst key forwards in the game.. he is a laughing stock because how big he is yet he can't do the most basic skill trait that a key forward needs and thats marking the ball. Pedersens career stats actully outweighs Dawes even though he has about 50 games less experience and i have already posted the evidence a while ago.And spare me mate your calling him a ducker that based on an incident 3 years ago.. every AFL player has done it even Luke Hodge has mentioned that he did early in his career that copped an all mighty spray from Clarkson
  20. Watched the Melbourne v Hawthorn game today on FOX where Pedersen kicked 3 and Dawes did absolutely bugger all except run his mouth couple days before the game. I think this draft period its a no brainer that we must recruit a key Forward. If Pedersen had not gotten injured i have no doubt Dawes would have been dropped to Casey. Personally i think Oscar Mcdonald is a smokey to become a key forward. 197cm tall who is agile and can take a strong mark also. Lets not forget he played all his Juniors at th3 Rebels as a key forward and impressed straight away. While he still has a long way to go and a body to build up i hope they trial him up forward over the summer.
  21. To me he just doesn't fit the type of player we are after. I agree with WJ that i am not a big wrap for Francis either. While he can play back he got towled up by Josh Schache in the championships. If the talls are all taken before pick 7 then we will obviously have no chance but to go after another midfielder/utility.Personally i think Darcy Tucker wouldn't be a bad option. He is a running half back who is tough and gives good drive off a half back with his neat disposal. He oozes leadership and fits that 'competitive' bracket we are after. Think of him as another Christian Salem who will start his career down back and then push into a midfield.
  22. I agree with some of your points WJ but i hope we steer clear away from Mathieson to be honest.. First of all his decision making and disposal is on par with Jordie Mckenzie, its really that bad. He rushes his kicks to often to the point where he will just blaze away without looking whats ahead. His skinny frame while loves to burrow in gets pushed off the ball way to easily and gets brushed off with ease and also he is not clean with the ball, he just fumbles way too much at crucial stages of the game. The only positive i have with him is his ball winning ability, other then that there is not much at all. In fact i will be very very surprised if he is picked top 10. I expect him to slide out because atm personally he hasn't got the required tools to be an AFL elite mid.
  23. Only bloke worth looking at is Steele Sidebottom and maybe even Daniel Rich who i think needs a fresh start. Forgot about Goldstien. While he is a star im backing Max Gawn to carve out an even better career.
  24. Agreed, I wonder whether they will actually stock up in mids considering the serious talks that Prestia and O'Meara will leave for Victoria next year. I think Darcy Tucker could also come under consideration for them also.
