  1. I had a real soft spot for Lukey Power. Very underated but was an absolute gun who could run all day and gave brisbane great service over the years. Before the game changed into a real arobic running style we forget how physically big and powerful these guys were also. They ragdoll any opposition teams that tried to get under their skin. I enjoyed watching the brisbane era.
  2. Agree, Aker on his day was one of the most explosive players in the game. Its a pity he is more rememberd for his off field antics Rather than what he did on field because i really enjoyed watching him play.
  3. Wouldnt be against him at all if Curnow or Weideman aren't available. He is a great prospect as he can play as a 2nd ruckman to give Gawn a rest up forward. Bit of Tom Lynch from GC about him.
  4. Not really actually.. i am one of Watts biggest critics but Petracca is coming from a long way back from injury. He will be eased into pre season footy very slowly. Lets not forget Petracca has not played senior footy at any level in his career so the intensity and speed of the game will come as a real shock to him. It will take him a couple of weeks to adjust to senior footy just like Brayshaw at the start of the year. With the sub gone and interchange rotations down to 90 Watts will hopefully become very important for us as he has the ability to gut run and create space. Infact Watts hard running doesn't get the reward he deserves from his teamates. Now one of Petraccas biggest weakness is his not a hard running midfielder or half forward at all. Does alot of his work in close. In fact his endurance needs a bit of work.. a fair bit now considering he has had a year off. He is going to blow up big time in the first couple of games. So to put Petracca ahead of Watts in round 1 is laughable. I am just as excited to see Trac next year no question at all but Watts is ahead of him atm.
  5. Actually more of a half forward/midfielder.. i have no doubt if he didn't do hos knee he would have stayed up forward all year.
  6. Dont know about the very good mark bit..
  7. That Andre Parella is a man nountain. Would definitely be my first preference. I like Greg Clark aswell. Hard running player who is expected to fall that way. Closest i have seen to the next Andrew Embley.
  8. These two picks id use on a big bodied developing ruckman and a tall outside wingman with some speed and creativity.
  9. This exact same time last year Sam Landsberger started an article stating that Christian Petracca was set to land at the Saints as they had huge wraps on the kid.Take him with a grain of salt.
  10. Id be very very surprised if we chose him at 7. Jason Taylor is not stupid though like BP who would waste 1st rounders on speculative players.
  11. After my drunken love messege i posted on here last night i am officially back to earth. Your all [censored]
  12. So in other words hes another Sam Blease.Pass
  13. I am chuffed you have compared me to the great man.
  14. We had a planning day for staff and coaching for the under 16s bushies before we start up again and one of the coaching staff from the 18s who is also a great mate of mine from local footy gave me a nudge to say that the recruiting staff were up to meet with a couple of bushies and NSW boys and Oliver was one of them.
  15. What a load of rubbish. Every single draftee and player in the AFL have some sort of weakness that coaches and recruiting staff will point out. The reason why Parish isn't number 1 is because Carlton are in dire need of KPP and Weitering is a once in a generation CHB, bit like Hogan up forward. Those types are just dime in dozen and too good to ignore and he fits their needs. Parish is just as deserving as a number 1 pick though. He is the exact type of player we are desperately lacking as he has that outside class and run.
  16. I dont have a problem with Jones being on the list next year. At worse he will just be an outside midfielder depth which will come handy when the likes of Stretch and Parish get tired towards the end of the year. Jones can come in and chop out for a game or two while our young boys rest up.
  17. Melbourne recruiting staff are up in the regional area this weekend meeting up with Clayton Oliver and family.
  18. Id like to see Olisik take on this now considering he judges a player based 'highlights'
  19. How can you put Ben Kennedy in the list cliggar category when he hasn't even played a game for us? Pretty silly to be honest, at least give the kid a chance to prove himself.
  20. I haven't read all the pages but why isn't there a Pink Ladys match anymore? Absolute disgraceful they have scrapped a charity match that raises alot of cash for Cancer. Once again the AFL has failed again. Wake up to yourself Gill.
  21. Hasn't that LARS surgery been pretty much a flop the last couple of years?
  22. Something to consider is that Roos knew if he had picked up Perris at the time he would have atleast spent 3 year with him. Now that Roosy has 1 year left i wonder if its really worth it now? 3 knee recos is definitely a huge risk and consider he did his knee in August he will most likely miss all of 2016.
  23. And this is why i have been pumping up Parish.. he is a footballer first before athlete. We would be very sill to overlook him at pick 3 for Curnow as Brett Anderson is suggesting.
