  1. Better start feeling that way now.
  2. Just to put things in perspective on people saying that he is a bit of a reach. Hawthorn, Port, and Western Bulldogs are clubs all ready to pounce on Pickett in those early selections in the teens hence why we are set to use pick 10 on him. Hawthorn at 11 and Bulldogs at 13 are the ones who have put in a lot of work into him and ones that also invited him to draft night tonight. I dont think we'll split 10 purely on the basis that he will be gone by mid teens. So yes, we aren't the only ones willing to use an early pick on Kozzy.
  3. Word is we won't be bidding on Green because we are set on Jackson.
  4. Trent Rivers is my tip.
  5. That'll take him to Xmas. Hopefully he is full training by end of January.
  6. When I watched him towards the back end of the year playing for Dandenong, he was playing around the wing. His kicking really is a delight to watch, but certainly his body work on being a midfielder needed work. He is a talented player and will be a gun half back in years to come. But these days you can pluck half back flanker from anywhere and they can come in a make a sudden impact. The likes of Marty Hore, Luke Ryan, Tom Stewart and Michael Hibbered are just example of HBF who are late picks who can come in and play the role straight away. So really using pick 3 on a HBF probably isn't really that necessary. This is why the Luke Jackson recruit makes sense. Rarely do you get blokes in the Brody Grundy and Nic Naitanui class that come right at your door step. Jackson is one of those rare breeds who'll be a very very good AFL player when he hits his prime.
  7. When there's smoke there's fire.
  8. yep, pretty much the case.
  9. Brilliant as usual @DeeSpencer and @kev martin
  10. The way he moves yes! So smith and ridiculously clean.
  11. Jesus even at senior level he likes to hit them hard. There is seriously so much Byron in him! And I [censored] love it!!
  12. I can't recall Cyril's under 18s year all that well. I do remember I think in one of the under 18s championships games he kicked 7 goals playing as a midfielder/ half forward. I think that game really skyrocketed his credentials in a big way.
  13. No. Because he is a completely different player to Weightman. When I spent time with Spargo at the bushies, he played his best footballer as a midfielder. He was voted best player in the under 16s championships when he was playing as a full time mid then resting up forward.
  14. I burst out laughing at the Spargo comparison from Norm. Honestly you couldn't find two completely different players in Spargo and Weightman. Spargo is your forward/midfield who is more of a link up accumulator type who will eventually push into the midfield. Weightman is more of your jack in the box type forward. The Jamie Elliot comparisons are real. Weightman actually likes to fly for his marks and has that genuine x factor that can turn a game within minutes. So yes @old dee if you want Weightman then you will love when you start watching him play. Talented kid indeed.
  15. It's a hard one, and i am a bit torn. I like Pickett, i really do, and he's exactly what we need. He fits the Goodwin style of play with his hard and aggressive approach to the contest. His not a Jeff Garlett type but definitely more your Byron Pickett/Cyril Rioli type. I am torn because at pick 10, you have the likes of Ash, Kemp, Robertson and even Young who are probably more talented and still be available around that mark. In saying that if the club decides with Pickett at 10 then i can see why they would go with this approach. He fits a significant need for us and i can see him playing senior footy early in his career. Having the likes of May, Jetta and Bennell to a degree play a leadership role for Pickett will only do him wonders.
  16. Can someone inbox me the article please.
  17. Stark different to the Neeld years when all we ever did at training right up until xmas was 400m runs around the oval..
  18. You could definitely put a strong case that Hodge and Judd were top 3 prospects of that draft. Luke Ball not so much.
  19. Reiwoldt wasn't in the Judd/Ball draft.
  20. Speaking of loons, where the heck is @DV8?? Aka @dee-luded?
  21. For someone that claims to watch a few games here and there you seem to get some easy facts wrong. WA won the game.. There were also bigger significant factors that had bigger influence on the game then just that 'one kick' yourself and the same joe blow's that continueto harp on about it on here. I look at Luke Jackson critical hitouts to Robertson and his WA mids deep into the last qtr that really got them going and eventually over the line to take home the championships title.
