  1. What is up with Jetta? Surely He has to make room in the side.......for anyone. At the start of the season it was "How are we going to fit Jetta, Wona and Bennell in the same team?" Now I am wondering how any one of them will fit in our team. I hope all 3 bounce back to some form so we are posed with the same question once again. Jared Rivers has to be dropped. I know he has his supporters, but each week he just does enough to keep him name out of the bottom 3 players, subsequently missing the axe each week. The problem is he is consistently in the bottom 5 players every game. Maybe he does need some time/confidence building at Casey. He is not a poor player, and I am not using him as a scape goat, I just think he could use some time to build his confidence in at Casey and return a more rounded player. Sylvia and Junior being out are hurting more than I thought they would.
  2. Meh. The dees will be a force again one day. As for right now, meh- could be worse. No use worrying about the future with so many untried kids (including high draft picks) on the list. This list is promising. Don't throw water on it now, we have to wait and see how it all pans out.

    Kreuzer ACL

Kruez is a monster loss for them. They will make finals, and be booted out first week of the finals. He is huge for them.
  5. Guy is a tool!
  6. Pencil him in as part of the future going forward. He has worked his backside off for the jumper this season, and deserves this spot!
  7. Maybe they could interview the special commentary "experts" instead of the players. They seem to be a dime a dozen.
  8. This is good news! He is the spark this team needs to pick up a few more wins in the second half of the season. He is going to take a bit longer than we all hope. All I know is that we will be watching him soon.
  9. Forget debating pick 12 VS pick 13. Think about the clubs that passed up BOTH players with earlier picks. Hats of to the dees and tigers for making the picks. We both got lucky! Everitt, Armitage and Reid were selected ahead of these guys. I still don't rate Gumbleton either!
  10. Pass. Even with PJ and Meesen gone, we still have to find playing time behind Jamar for Gawn and Co. Hampson just adds to the log jam of ruckman who are still too raw. That, and I do not want to pay the price of a top 20 pick for Hampson!
  11. The RUSSIAN is a big reason why our midfield is starting to be more competitive. He is giving them a good chance at a centre clearance. His signature is important. 12 months ago he was in trouble, now hw would command a top 20 pick in a trade!- Of course, we will keep him instead of trading. If he does decide to go elsewhere, we will get great value for him. Most improved player at the MFC and top 5 MIP in the AFL.
  12. I was down at Casey on Saturday. Looked like Hughes did an ankle injury early in the 4th quarter. Not sure the severity, but he didn't look good.
  13. Watts- down on confidence Thats all it is with Jack. He has SUBLIME foot skills, and has more courage than his thin frame can carry. He just needs a big Milleresque goal haul to jump start his season. I like the Kid, and want him to play on this season! I really wanted Jetta to bust open the game. Did some nice things, but much like Bennell this season went missing. Jamie and Nev are such handy players when on. I still harbor the feeling that they are going to get much better, and become similar players to Flash who find plenty of the footy and can be damaging on the run. I hope there can be a time where both can hold down spots in our 22 instead of one simply replacing the other. Dunn- will play on? Dunn did some OK things. Liked his contributions. He did have some good backmen on him in presti and O'brien. Deserves to keep his forward role for the foreseeable future.
  14. Morton is an interesting case. Much like Bruce earlier in his career, I cannot find the exact position he would be best suited for. Seems to flow in and out of different positions seamlessly during the game. He has not reached anywhere near his full potential yet, but the Collingwood game was a huge sign of faith for a player that could be dominant at this level. Garland I plain like. Much maligned at times (unfairly, and sometimes warranted), Garland is the type of player that can really hold his spot on the ground and go unnoticed for much of the game. Looks a forward threat, but is just super handy at reading the play down back. Mr Invisible is better than we think. If he can remain fit and get a full pre-season without any problems we might see him develop out of his skin.
  15. Three-peat! God I hope we do not finish last. I cannot handle the dees being the laughing stock of the AFL. Time to start winning again dees!!
  16. Nice to see he is still enjoying his footy! One of those players that felt like he was on the list forever, but only managed to scrap the odd game here or there.
  17. Keep the pick, and keep going with the trend of building via the draft. I am however interested in farming some 2nd 3rd and 4th round picks off in exchange for a decent player(s). I think the rookie draft becomes very important, so securing some solid players using a combination of later picks might be a good idea. We would then be able promote some of our more talented rookies (because we are not using all of your picks), then load up with youth again via the rookie draft. This is going to be the murkiest draft in AFL history. By the 2nd and 3rd rounds you are really going to have to be lucky to pluck out a gem. Let clubs in need of a rebuild take these picks. When the dust settles we will pick from the best available youth in the rookie draft. And if the rookies fail, no loss, because we will have topped up via a trade with players that complement our list, as well as a few selections (1st round plus whatever else we keep) and rookies to develop.
  18. Sean Wight was one of the most underated players to ever put an AFL jumper on. Watched him hold Ablett goalless (he may have kicked one when Wight came off for a spell) in his run away coleman medal winning year. Super smart player, with the ability to wear his players down on every forward entry. If you kick goals on Sean, you bloody well earned them! Big Nic at Fullback? This must have been when beamer was too busy with the ladies to watch the full 4 quarters of footy. Love big Nic, but doesn't rank as the best FB over the past few decades.
  19. Rohan Bail to GC17??????? I like Bail, but lets be honest. He would be about 80th on their list of players they want when looking at the AFL as a whole. Given they will only poach around 10-15 players, you would think Bail is pretty safe. Ricky will be higher on that list, but they will be head hunting players ahead of Ricky so even Ricky might still be lacing them up for us next year. depends on the success of their primary targets.
  20. These 17 year olds are prone to the same pressures of all drafted footballers. They could get hurt, fall in with the wrong crowd, or just simply won't cut the pace/skill of the AFL. There are no guarantees even with top picks. Sure, it takes some of the guess work out of it, but the truth is there is no such thing as a dead certainty from the draft board to your list. It will be hard to develop the list when you only have 22 senior spots to do so. Doing it over years sees you guys develop in stages. Trying to develop a bunch of 17/18yos at the same time would be a mammoth task. Don't be surprised if some of these draftees move to another club for more opportunities! Both sides will be competitive, and will play finals footy. But suggesting the next 10 flags?? Not going to happen.
  21. Personally, I still believe Cale Morton is one of the top talents at the club. He is building form, and is a long way off being dropped considering some of the performances of some of his teammates. I think we should see some very good signs from Cale in the upcoming month. He is slowly building in many areas of his game, and could start to really cause his opponents some concern. Happy with his comeback thus far.
  22. We don't need to try and get blease a game this year. He is going to need some more time. Forget him lacing the boots up for the dees. Next year will be his year. There are still a number of promising youths still trying to get a game after solid performances at Casey. Blease is a long way behind those players. Write him off for 2010, and let him recover. He will be right next year, and will give us something to look forward to. Getting a few games in the Casey Seniors team will be his goal I would think.
  23. Dunn has to be given 4 quarters in the goal square. Kicking 8 in the VFL might be on par with winning a boxing match against a donkey, but it is still a sign that he is a capable forward. Select him, and leave him at FF!
  24. They will embalm Junior before they give it to someone who doesn't deserve it! Beamer could be it, so could green. Junior plays on one more year in my book, then we will have a clearer idea of who will emerge as the top candidates.
  25. Dunn needs a run! To be fair to Dunn, there are "those" players on our list that are allowed to have the off game, and are given the chance to build form at the top level. The second Dunn has an off game he is swept into the Scorps team. He has not been given a solid 20 matches to learn at the top level. Not only that, but he hasn't played more than 3 matches in the same position. Hard to build form when you have to keep readjusting your style of play. He may be on the cusp of this team going forward. My suggestion is that he is given a solid 10 games to show that he either does or doesn't belong. At least then we will have done the right thing by him, and our supporters. It is not like we have forwards banging the door down to get in the team. Get him in for a run.
