I do not watch enough Brissie games to give an accurate assessment of Sherman, but from what I have seen he has failed to impress. Do we really need to tinker to the point where we are taking on players that may not be a part of our best 22?

Bartram had a ripper season. Still can butcher it by foot, the other stuff tends to make up for it. If he can sort his kicking out, he will really make it hard for other to take his spot. He was a big reason why the demons could apply pressure around the ground. Has to have one of the biggest engines in the AFL.

Jones adds hardness to this team. Until our kids develop physically he is far too valuable to part with. Jones isn't exactly in his late 30's, he is young and has some development left in him. An injury free pre-season and season will do his career wonders. He has been a tad unlucky with injuries so far.

The draft is rumored to be shallow. With Judd in his prime the blues are in "win now" mode. Would not be surprised to see them throw their first selection for Warnock along with our 3rd or 4th selection. I would prefer to keep Matty, but if his playing career will be more fruitful elsewhere then I wish him all the best.

RBK were sick IMO. They were a step up from ASIC and FILA which where average at best. New Balance are not known for top flight sporting apparel. The MFC club is going to be a desirable destination from this draft forward. We are touted as the next "dynasty" of the AFL. Jack Viney knows the red (& blue) carpet has been rolled out here for him. He will have known about the father son since he was about 10 yeats old. Playing for the Demons would have crossed him mind before playing for any other club. If he plays in Adelaide, then I wish Todd's boy luck. If we wants to a part of the MFC legacy, one his father started, then he will indeed become a Demon. No point stressing, we have to go to the draft table this season and get it right before we start worrying about future drafts.

Every spot is up for grabs. Competition is open! We don't have anywhere near a set 22, even those selected in the core are still shaky if form doesn't hold up. We need to groom a forwardline, and if that means leaving Jurrah and Watts up forward then that is what is required. Jurrah can be dangerous, and having him play forward could really cause headaches for other teams. Both players could play in the middle, but I think the dees are covered for on ballers at the minute.

Hate to say it, but best available wins out. Even if it is a player we dont "need", a class player will be useful in a few years time. You never know who might decide to walk out on us during our window. Having a groomed kid to step in would be a blessing.

Nice name drops in the article, but the reality is that is only the tip of the iceberg. We have a stack of kids that are going to be solid AFL players, and even potential stars. Gysberts work against Geelong was a season highlight for me. There is something about him the reeks of James Hird. Of all the kids on our list Gysberts is the one that could be anything.

A premiership contender needs more than a "best 22". A contender needs something like a "best 30". It is called quality depth, and Beamer might fall of the pace from the 22, but an injury or form slip will see a quality player like beamer slide right into the side nicely. He will be on the list and would be still in the best 22 barring any setbacks. Might not play every game, but will make an impact when he gets selected because that is the sort of player he is.

Nope. Macca only had one year left in him anyway. Why uproot your family for a non contender for 1 season? Macca will find work quickly, he is a pretty intelligent guy.

Bate has the tools to be a good footballer at this level. Could be fitness, confidence or a combination of the two that has seen him fall out of Baileys good graces and out of favor with many fans. I will put my hand up as a guy who now has a question mark over Bater. I still think he will fight back and be a good player for the club, but it wont happen without hard work and a little bit of luck.

If he were to come back as an assistant it could be a grand gesture to mend a bridge that was once considered "burnt". What happened is in the past. Woey did win a Brownlow here, so he knows a thing or two about football. Good luck to him finding a coaching gig at the top level. There are a few assistant spots opening, I am sure his work at east freo will help him find a spot somewhere.
