  1. It is not Kerr's age at 27 that bothers me. When fit he is hands down elite in this competition. What bothers me about Kerr is his off field antics and attitude. Jamar is a cheaper, younger and soon to be better option than Dean Cox.
  2. Chip will go to Riewoldt. Garland could be good on him, but like many posts mentioned Chip will get the best forward each week, and Riewoldt is having a monster season.
  3. The more finals games we get into this list the better. We are not ready to contest for a flag, but getting a few big finals games under our belt will help when that time comes.
  4. I always WANT the dees to play finals, I just don't THINK it is likely. Every game we play is experience, and getting into the finals this year would be fantastic for the boys after be starved of success for so long. The dees would have to win 3 of their last 4 to make it happen. You can forget us beating Hawthorn who will come out blazing to keep their finals spot. Port is a wildcard over in SA. Richmond are not the easy beats they once were, and North proved to us once already this season that although we have a better list, they can beat us at our own game. Much is up in the air, but we are betting with house money here, so why not dare to dream big. Exciting times ahead.
  5. While you are over there, can you punch a Lakers fan for me? Good effort following a team from abroad. I know how frustrating it can be to watch replays because you cannot watch it live due to the time difference. You try and avoid the score, then some anus sends you a sms or facebook message about the game that you have so carefully avoided. I have been to all games in Victoria this year, and have found the resurgence to be a thing of beauty. You will certainly enjoy next season, there is much to look forward to.
  6. Screw Hawthorn!! If they want to have Matty they can cough up a first round pick for him. Give Matty a 3 year deal, and move on. He is a required player at the club, and will challenge for a spot even if rivers/garland/frawley are fit.
  7. Bartram has had one memorable act of bravery each game he has played this year. Every time I watch the dees, it is Bartram doing the scrapping to help the dees rebound. His kicking is well documented, perhaps with some further training he may be able to tune it to be a little better. He will never be an Ablett with his kicking, but a small improvement would go a long way for Bartram. Glad to see he has cemented his spot in the side. It is now up to the next crop of players to try and go one better to get his spot in the side. No easy feat!
  8. who has the worst moe Austin or Lynden? The answer is: it is not possible to have a bad moe. All moes are ripping good fashion, regardless of how porno they look!
  9. Macca is still a top midfielder. If his heart and body want another year, then another year it shall be. Would Macca retain the captaincy? I would think so.
  10. Colin has always had the talent. He has matured into a leader. When Colins leads, players follow and we tend to win. His brilliance is becoming more of a week in week out thing now opposed to the every now and then we saw earlier on in his career. I will be there cheering for #12. 100 games - 100 more to come.
  11. Didn't Warnock give Brown or Fev a bath last time we played them? Would have thought that he would be thrown in to take on one of those big lads. Chip will get Brown I think, leaving Garland to handle Fev. Maric was solid, but Macca is too good to leave out when fit.
  12. Holy Diver- Ronnie James Dio. Make it happen trumpet man! And to honor the great one, finish of with "Wrathchild"- Iron Maiden.
  13. Chip has hands down become my Fav demon of the new breed. Finding a good backman is hard enough. Finding a great backman can take decades of drafting. I can say we may have found that great backman. Time will tell, but so far so good. If a premiership dynasty is on the cards, Chip will be our Scarlett and be that defender that makes all the difference.
  14. Maric- great second efforts Maric really impressed with his second efforts. He did not give up winning the contested ball.
  15. Nice to see other teams fans recognizing the forward momentum the club has been building.
  16. I can't believe they are sticking with that awful jumper! I would rather fork out for a burlap sack then hand over $100 for that b-grade monstrosity they call a jumper!
  17. Macca has been sorely missed. With any luck he will get through unscathed an push for a spot next week.
  18. Everyone is to blame for falling 44 points behind. You rarely win football games from 44 points behind. Melbourne can be sublime at times, but every week there seems to be one quarter where the intensity drops off and we get rolled. This was the first quarter against Freo, and they built on that lead in the second to go 44 ahead and seal the game. Good effort to make it a contest, but the first quarter more or less sealed the game for Freo. Playing without Beamer and James McDonald does really hurt our leadership in the trenches. We will see how the pups go without these two against the swans.
  19. Big ask to get up and play if he is in WA until Tuesday. He will miss one week.
  20. Um, Deanox the 49ers makes NO sense for an Australian team due to its historical relevance! San Fran are named the 49ers due to the gold rush in San Fran during 1849. Naming the gold coast 49ers is just plain stupid, and goes against the entire argument. The "Suns" is just as kitschy add on to a city, with no historical reference to anyone who uses it. It is up for grabs for anyone who wants to use it, and anyone who has a problem with this need to get of the "anti usa" soap box and accept that it works fantastically for a gold coast team. 'Suns' is not American FFS!!!
  21. One of my pet peeves is when the word "americanised" is used. The last time I checked, the Sun did not belong to the United States. The Atlanta hawks of the NBA (previously Millwakee/St Louis)were named in 1951. The Hawthorn Hawks of the VFL/AFL were called changed to the Hawks in 1942. Did the NBA aim to "Australianise" the NBA? Do we own the right to the name "hawks"? Any team can call themselves whatever they want. It is just sport, and a team name is just something to build an identity. It has nothing to do with any other teams that may share the same team name.
  22. Looking forward to seeing Morton and Bail play. GO DEES!
  23. The Seagulls are all paid up members! That is how we cracked the 33,000 this year. We signed up 500 Seagulls........
  24. They will bounce back from the Tigers loss, and make an example of us. We still have some serious fades during a game that can last for almost a quarter. Until we can iron out these creases, we will be the underdog travelling anywhere outside the MCG. If we could play 4 quarters of good footy, we would beat Freo at home. At the moment we can't.
  25. The reason we have so many Sunday games is because I like to hit the [censored] on Saturday night. The club wants me to be there, so they moved most games to Sunday to accommodate my binge drinking. On a serious note, it would be nice to have some Friday night games in there somewhere.
