  1. Ingerson was A Grade from what I remember. What a cracker of a player he was!
  2. We are paying the price for our deals at the trade table over the past few years. I'm not putting this on all on the trades (form of senior players, injuries and coaching panel have played a part), it's just more that with us giving away so many top end picks it has denied us the opportunity to have a young a-grade talent push through and move the list forward. We have done ok drafting in the middle parts of the draft, picking up some good solid talent who don't have star quality. Having one A grade kid push through the team right now would be really helpful. Instead we paid a heavy proce for the likes of Lever and May who are good footballers but haven't made the side better* *Injuries have stopped the potential of these players making the team better, however when you pay a high price this is the cost to the list if that prize player gets hurt.
  3. Any idea if anyone is live streaming the game?
  4. Agree with you Pman. He has a list that is not yet capable of consist 4 quarter performances yet his side has pinched a few wins and got close to a few more wins. They will have a Brisbane Lions like rise in the coming season or two.
  5. My 2 cents on this: - One more year for Jones. We won't have trouble freeing up lists spots. Jones is ahead of some of the others due to exit the club. - Won't be Captain. I can see Gawn/Viney captaincy time share next season - Transition to forwardline. He is a decent set shot, tackles well and can still find the football when it's in the deck. Can be rotated through middle for small parts of the game if need be.
  6. I think we need to tinker with the list to see what is going to work going forward. That means both winning and losing games as a result of tinkering. I'm not interested in the lowest draft pick, but I'm interested in getting games into players like Baker and Lockhart to see if they can be permanent fixtures next season. I want to play finals, but I would like to play finals next season as a result of tinkering and getting games into players now.
  7. Given he is contracted and out fitness team seem to manage injuries like Dr Nick Riviera from the Simpsons, I would suggest we will see big OMac a few more times before his contract expires at the end of next season.
  8. Did KK play on the wing or half forward/back? Keen to see what his run has been like, he has good size and pace.
  9. If they are going to extend his tenure then they need to play him and try him somewhere different. I don't think he hits the scoreboard enough as a forward. His endurance is elite, perhaps he can be developed as a run with type player.
  10. Parish wont be leaving essendon. Their fans would scream bloody murder if he left. He will get paid and stay.
  11. He did play some time up forward as a junior. No harm in seeing what he can do forward at Casey. Our back stocks seem settled so it's worth a try.
  12. Casey 2 games back from the bottom half of the top 8 and Coburg are struggling with 1 win from 10 outings. A must win game for Casey if they are to give themselves a chance and staying in arms length of the top 8. New coach will be interesting.
  13. White collar version of musical chairs? Rooke and Macca look like they are close to being chairless
  14. Rules are rules, and he broke them. If there is any truth to the fact he bet in a game he was playing in he is in serious trouble.
  15. Don't despair, the Demonland drafting and trading threads are only 3 months away.... It is always worth waiting for, especially after a garbage season.
  16. Lockhart needs a few weeks in the AFL team to see if he can build on his game at the top level. I'm not huge on gifting games but he is a player I would like tested out more at the top level. He has a look of someone who takes the game on and change the momentum of a game. Hore is a find. Essentially a ready made replacement for any of our back six who are no longer up to it. Pick 56 well spent, should be a 150 game player for us. Sparrow looked promising from what I had seen before he hurt his knee. He is 2 months away from playing footy again so we will need to wait until next year to see what we have with Sparrow. Baker has a look of a player who could be damaging. Bit of Issac Smith about him. He is the player we desperately need and could take another stride or two before the season ends. Keilty is a guy I can't figure out. His good vfl games are eye catching, but when he is bad he is bad. The next 10-12 weeks are vital for him. He will get his opportunity to play if his form is there. If he doesn't force his way back into the side it could be curtains for him at the Dees.
  17. I thought he was good also dazzle. We need to put some time into the back half of tracs season and see what he can produce around other parts of the ground.
  18. Give me Jay Lockhart forward over Garlett. Jeffy looks done.
  19. Chuck him forward.Jones at least is willing to go back and have a set shot. We don't have any answers for our forwards until Melky is back, so chuck Jonesy forward to see what happens.
  20. I've honestly not watched much of May over his career, only read about him post game when he was at the Suns. I'm really interested in seeing what his best footy looks like with my own eyes.
  21. I don't want anyone on here getting sick, so before you drink and I will sample a few first to make sure they are ok to consume. Just being a good Samaritan....
  22. I can't really comment given I was born in early 80s. One guy who had a great career but was cut short due to a knee injury was Anthony Ingerson. One of the better half backs I can recall. Was rarely beaten and had great endurance. Not sure if he makes the cut for many, but I have fond memories of him playing. Just thought he could be foot noted as an honorable mention.
  23. Eddie wanted him at Collingwood. Never questioned anything to do with Weideman or his ability.
  24. Karma for bending us over for Lever. I hope he rots in the sanfl while he eats into their salary cap for the next two seasons.
