MFC Mature Age Players, Best of 2018 and beyond.
1. Vandenberg: He came into the club as a big body when we really needed to be more competitive. Now that we are more competitive, he us a real ace up our sleeve. Provides us with an enforcer type with good decision making and solid all round skills. 2. Fritta: He didn't really suprise anyone on here given we knew his game after an impressive year at Casey the year before. That being said, his first AFL season was terrific. He is a ripper, and has the highest ceiling of the players listed. He is a beautiful kick and is a great mark. He makes good decisions and already displays a good defensive side of his game.

AFL lookalikes
- Andrew Brayshaw
I hope we bend Freo over for any Victorians in the upcoming years. Especially if it means uniting the Brayshaw brothers. Hated them since the Jeff White and Jeff Farmer sagas. There is some historic hatred there.- Daniel Menzel
I've seen witches hats stick more tackles than Menzel.....- Let the Yawn Fest Begin
I think you are over thinking it Nasher. Just watch it and fall in love with the game. Eventually you will find a team you resonate with. Just keep watching and enjoy until you click with a team. It's helped me over the past 20 years, I actually got to see a few teams of mine actually win championships, which has been rewarding as a fan.- Knightmare's 2014 Pre-draft player Analysis
It's nice to look at a draft year knowing the Dee's nailed it. 2014 was as good as we have had in a long while. Just don't comb over too many drafts before 2014, there is some bad memories there.- 2019 Jumper Numbers
Or KK62. A machine gun packs a punch!- Let the Yawn Fest Begin
The NBA is back, The NFL is pumping and the world series is about to start. If that doesn't get you excited I can't help you!- Delisting, Trade and FA discussion 2018
Some interesting delisted players out there. I don't mind the idea of having Weller on a one year deal as depth. Hugh Goddard interests me. Doesn't really fill a direct need but was had a hard run with injuries. A one year deal to see if he can get his body right would be worth it. He is an endurance player that could still develop.- PICKS # 26 & 31 (formerly # 23 & 28)
I think there would be a bit of skank in those ankles somewhere. Anyone who whores out for the dollars is a skank in my book!- PICKS # 26 & 31 (formerly # 23 & 28)
He would need Scully ankles to fall that far in the draft!!- PICKS # 26 & 31 (formerly # 23 & 28)
I get the feeling Taylor has someone very specific in mind. If you look at the points value we drop by making this deal for pick 28. I'm very interested to see who gets selected with this pick.- 2018 Player Reviews: #3 Christian Salem
Yeah I'm with you. I think moving him up into the middle for will make us more dangerous. He is a tough sort, and his kicking is sublime. Still a great option at half back, but I think he has the goods to spend some time in the middle.- Jack Scrimshaw
I get the feeling Hawthorn just found themselves another Jonathan O'Rourke........ I think this kid is likely a bust.- Recruiting a 3rd tall forward to find another 50 goals?
Didn't Fritta kick 30 or 40 goals in the VFL for Casey in 2017? Could be an option.- Delisting, Trade and FA discussion 2018
Honestly Hogan was going to command big dollars next year. We would have probably ended up with less next year if he left then. They sold for as much as they could get for him.- WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - HARLEY BENNELL
If taking his one year deal gets the Hogan deal done for 2 first rounders I'm in. Peter Bell isn't a fan and wants him gone, if Bennell is the steak knives to get the Hogan deal done then I'm willing to see if he can turn it around at the Demons next season. Personally, I hope he finds a home and makes it back. He is a super talented player, and players like him firing make the game better to watch.- Mason Shaw
- 2018 Player Reviews: # 12 Dom Tyson
He was the right player for us at the time. Gave us some hope and helped us reshape the midfield. Both the team and game have evolved, Dom unfortunately hasn't. I wish him well. He will go alright at North.- 2018 Player Reviews: # 6 Jordan Lewis
Father time has Lewis in his sights. I hope Lewey gets through next year without any injuries or form issues and can bow out of league footy with his legacy intact. Has been very handy, and am thankful his experience has rubbed off on our next generation of players.- 2018 Player Reviews: # 4 James Harmes
Next to Brayshaw he was our most improved player. Went from fringe player to a must in the best 22.- Farewell Dean Kent
Good luck to him in the Saints midfield. Personally I would have stayed at the dees and played finals.....- 2018 Player Reviews: # 24 Jay Kennedy Harris
A good example of a player who does exactly what the coaches ask of him. Has some limitations, but will be a handy depth player that the coaches trust to do a job. I had him pencilled in as a delisting at the start of the season, good on him for extending his career.- 2018 Player Reviews: # 38 Tim Smith
Smith is Handy for depth. He buys us some time with Weeds if his form does indeed dip. Bull plays hard and has good hands. He won't beat top defenders but does offer similar value to Pedo when firing.- 2018 Player Reviews: # 34 Mitch King
We had a pair of Kings in recent years and had to fold on both. Hoping our next ruck project is an ace. - Andrew Brayshaw
