  1. A true demon. Bucked the trend when other clubs senior players wouldn't come and play for us. Bernie got his marching orders from radelaide and became a very important player for us. He will he missed! Now send him out to stud and sign his kids up in 18 years.

His tackling was a feature today, a vast improvement from when he last played at the tolp level. His aerial work is good, just need the hands to hold the marks. I'm keen to see how he goes against the Giants.

Maybe, just maybe Weeds put it together enough this week for him to retain his spot going into next season. He has also been working on his ruck craft which gives an extra dimension to his game that he didn't really have last season. My expectations are low, but I wouldn't be surprised if played well enough to retain his spot moving forward.
  4. Could just have a commemorative jersey celebrating what a disappointment of a club we have been in recent years. I'm thinking a red and blue white strip with a white flag in the middle of the jumper.... Seriously our finals hopes are on the line and we roll out some nonsense jumper.
  5. If he keeps this B.S up he will just become a miniature version of Caroline Wilson.
  6. Lewis is pretty safe with the ball. I'm under no illusions that he could out run a tortoise, but he is not the problem. His job is to lead and steer the troops off the ball which he is doing a good job of. Our defensive spread is pretty good, and Lewis has been huge helping that happen. Last night wasn't his best game, but he wasn't near our bottom 6 or 8 last night.

Damn, I was hoping to get the CEO role.... Good luck to Pert, I think I would have been a more entertaining appointment...

Would rather the filth overpay home and then watch him fizzle
  9. I really like this signing. Coming from a professional sporting background is a huge advantage in terms of commitment and preparation. Should be able to take to the AFL system like a duck to water. If he has the goods he could be big max's replacement.
  10. Gus is a smart footballer. I hope he can stay injury free and play some more footy like today. Great game today, reminded everyone why he was a top 3 pick!!
  11. Great debut! He smacks of Macaulay Culkin though. I thought the game against Essendon was another home alone movie...
  12. Suprise selection for me, but I like it. We need to uncover some more players, so worth a shot. Balic is a bit stiff not to be given a crack but he won't be too far off.
  13. He played alright against the tigers. Keep playing him.
  14. Would love trac to signs on long term for two reasons. 1. He is a gun and will be an elite talent. 2. We get to rub it into saints supporters his whole career because they passed on him!!
  15. If port implodes and misses finals, and we get in and at least win week one, we could be a preferred landing spot for wines. I think if it's money he wants he will go to norf..

This goes off topic a bit, but I wouldn't mind seeing retro heroes being put on tee-shirt lines. The gawn and Jones nerd tees were a hot commodity last season. Would love a flower, stynes, barassi and Lyon tee to be created.
  17. Would rather trade two first rounders for lever than draft another jimmy Toumpas or Lucas Cook. we paid overs, but we got the player we needed. lets move on from this and call it a win-win.
  18. It's no wonder Diamond Joe vanished.....
  19. Not convinced by the Kelly rumours. I think we are heavily invested in Lever and we don't have the money for both. Kelly is a gun, but his price tag will be a bridge too far.
  20. He is staying at the saints. I wonder if they will still have the rumoured 1.2m for Kelly after inking Billings.
  21. I am happy for him. He was always the whipping boy with Essendon fans. I'm glad he hasn't carried same tag here at Melbourne. His contributions this season have been valuable.
  22. Gun gun gun. My only question is: Where is that 800k worth of cap space coming from??
  23. He was good last night. A bit of a silent pest. Reads the play well and has good skills in close. His kicking still needs some work but he is playing well and deserves some love.
  24. The AFL experts stroke themselves over Joel Selwood. No doubt Selwood is tough and a strong leader, but Viney is next level tough. I have never seen anything like his performance last night. It is the best midfield performance I have ever seen.
  25. Interesting. From memory one of his sons is about 14 and is a prospect (Kobe?), certainly helps father son nominations if he is down here with dad. Loved the Wiz, wish he had never left.
