  1. Another Sth African blockathon - but Sri lankans had no Ryan Harris to finish them off. Back to number 1 - fair enough - up to the Aussies to do something about that - won't be easy. Interesting Sth Africa a very good sporting nation but rather irrelevant at the Comm Games - clearly not a high prority.
  2. Mitch was terrific - but doubt we will see him again - thanks and best wishes to him.
  3. Doesn't matter if both the Crows and the Pies make the finals - neither would get past week 2 at best. If the Crows go O K we can always say the Demons beat them over there anyway.
  4. Now time to sign up P Jackson - Frawley looks a lost cause.
  5. As above - End of Story - leave it to the Rusted On Labor people on welfare or who are school teachers. Great - I am now a Demon - didn't like the rookie tag.
  6. Should be more pressure on James now that Roos has committed to the third year - tho looks like James will go anyway.
  7. Would have been poor if he hadn't but great that he has.
  8. Would have been poor if he hadn't but great that he has.
  9. Re the Barassi suspension - they had a photo of the incident that conflicted sharply with the evidence - but MFC were not allowed to present it at the tribunal. So RDB was rubbed out and the picture was on the front page of The Sun the next morning - made the ump and the then VFL look stupid (some might say some things never change). As for Roger Dean - reasonable player - should have won umpteen Oscars at the Academy Awards.
  10. Tough on Nathan Jones - where would the club be WITHOUT him? I am not so concerned re A graders (tho want to have them) as I am about those who will never make it - Byrnes (history obviously), Nicho, Evans, Strauss, Blease ( a one trick pony), sadly looks like Tapscott, probably Spencer. Michie, Toumpas (Ollie Wines, if only) and Barry would want to improve big time and in a hurry. Cannot carry deadwood but I know the list is/was so bad it cannot be totally fixed in 5 minutes. Just heard Roos signed for the 3rd year - some good news.
  11. And see Cook got 95 - albeit after being dropped on 15.
  12. I don't hate Labor. I just dislike gross incompetence that we, our kids and our grandkids will pay for. I don't like and agree with all Abbott and Hockey say and do. But they have a million miles to go to be as bad as Rudd, Gillard and Swan. Labor lost the election and Govt. for one reason - their gross incompetence - get over it. Only time will tell if the Libs can do better - hopefully they can. In the meantime to slate Abbott as an International Embarrasment is ridiculous - he is doing very well on the international scene - responding to the shooting down of the Malaysian plane. (and he is not taking selfies and abusing flight stewards - and there are no videos of him ranting like a lunatic) I can only presume some of the responses to this are coming from those on welfare or school teachers. End of story.
  13. Great effort by Jess - a true Demon spirit effort - let's hope it inspires the footy club AND the supporters to finish off the season in a spirited fashion.
  14. Good to see more passion entering the debate. Losing is for losers - seriously aren't we sick of being losers. I know the list is still far from up to scratch - but the club has to start somewhere and every win and every rung higher up the ladder is a step in the right direction - the alternative isn't an alternative.

  16. Is Billy Stretch big enough - we need taller and more robust midfielders ( no offence to Jonesy who is super, Tyson and the likes) - but we have a few who are simply not big enough nor strong enough clogging the list. As for taking Jimmy Toumpas instead of Ollie Wines - words fail me - a clssic example of what I am trying to say.
  17. Yep - right about today Jumping Jack. As soon as we got more umpire than one - 1976 - they have tried to clone them - the decision against Watts fantastic spoil last week was a shocker - maybe technically correct per the laws of the Game - but COMMON SENSE which ideally always should be applied went out the window - the Pt Adel crowd were very edgy given the Dees had kicked the last 6 goals so Watts and the Dees paid a price. However I believe if you are good enough you will win - sadly the Dees made some mistakes near the finish - Dawesy's kick back into the corridor, Grimesy missing Tyson and kicking out on the full - and early in the game - what were the Dees defenders thinking when Wingard had a set shot from the boundary and they allowed Westhoff to saunter into the goal square unattended for the simple handball over the top and gift goal?
  18. Free Agency a shocker for lowly clubs like the Dees. Frawley has a lot more footy left in him than Malceski - cannot load the list up with too many blokes near the end of their careers. After watching the SagPies today, if they were interested in Frawley before today - they will be all over him now. Very hard to see him staying - so Roos and Co have to be very smart about who they chase - history says Roos is very good at this - even tho he is only a short term coach just hope he is thinking long term for the Dees.
  19. Good to see those not happy about finishing last have nearly caught the "I don't cares" in the poll. Agree the list still needs to be improved immensely. In the meantime have to grab every win that is possible. It is good to have realistic hope and good to CARE!!

  21. I cannot believe how many deluded Labor supporters follow the Demons. How much debt do you think constitutes a problem. History shows that Labor gets us into debt and the Libs dig us out of it - time and time again. Except Rudd, Swan and Gillard went way too far and a return to a surplus (which doesn't seem a bad thing) is nigh on impossible now. Contrary to what you blokes think - I couldn't care less if Labor is in power PROVIDED they don't butcher the economy and govern well for all Australians. Hawke and Keating weren't too bad - but that latest lot..........................................................words are inadequate.
  22. Indians slightly easier to stomach now that Harbhajan Singh and Ganguly gone. Cook an easy target at the moment BUT - he is not yet 30 and only 700 odd runs short of being England's all time leading Test cricket run scorer.
  23. Great effort by Jess - two very talented siblings.
  24. You are selling Hughes and Smith way short beelzebub. Anyway every rung up the ladder matters, every win matters - it is called progress, it provides HOPE, it sells memberships, it keeps young kids interested IT MATTERS!! You are right that I am emotional about the Demons - I would call it passionate - it is a lifetime love affair.
  25. Spot on dees 189227 - we should all be hoping for a win each week - even though we know that is unrealistic with the current list - acceptance of failure is pathetic. (this is good - it is getting my posts up - at my age I don't want to remain a Rookie Demon)
