  1. Hi all. I posted in the fantasy section, but thought I'd post to the main forum in case people don't check that section. I will run a supercoach league for DLand members this year. If you are keen to join private message me with your email and I'll add you to the league. Given it is a max of 18 players it will be first in best dressed!
  2. That's solid! Where do you play Jumping Jack? I'm at Spring Valley.
  3. DeeSpencer I'd suggest looking at other sides lists to get an idea of how good our depth is. There is no other side with as much depth as we have and in every position on the ground covered. Really the only spot we don't have multiple ready to go options is the ruck...... but then no other team has the number 1 ruck and an upcoming ruck who will probably be top 10 by the end of 2022....
  4. Hi Deevoted. I was in the annual comp each year but don't think there was one last year? Happy to run some comps if people are keen.
  5. Hi all. Keen to get a league together for the 2022 season. If anyone here does SuperCoach let me know if you would like to start a DLand league.
  6. Assuming no injuries I think the team will be: B: Bowey May Lever HB: Salem Petty Rivers C: Brayshaw Viney Langdon HF: Neal-Bullen McDonald Harmes F: Pickett Brown Fritsch R: Gawn Oliver Petracca Int: Spargo Sparrow Jackson Hunt Emg: Hibberd Tomlinson Jordon Dunstan
  7. Look at Trac giving it to Petty afterwards haha
  8. I also saw something recently that said he is now 194cm and pretty sure when drafted he was 192, so still growing. Will start to fill out over the next year or two and can learn under May and Tomlinson.
  9. I'm tipping the following for top 5: 1. Clayton Oliver 2. Jake Lever 3. Christian Petracca 4. Max Gawn 5. Steven May
  10. Ahhhh I see.... I misread that. Well then I agree with what you sad, we have strong depth all over the ground. On a recent AFL site list review they mentioned potentially being light on for key talls, but thinking about it the options we have are pretty decent. B Brown - our number 1 KPF McDonald - very hand 2nd KPF Weideman - could overtake TMac if he gets some confidence and plays to his potential Jackson - could play as a permanent key forward if we needed him to Van Rooyen - looks to be very solid for an 18 year old and could play games next year M Brown - handy back up to the back ups I don't think there would be many sides out there with much better KPF depth to be honest.
  11. Realistically, the wing options we have are: Langdon Brayshaw Baker Rosman Howes None of the others on that list have ever proven themselves to play on the wing, or would have the running capacity to do the role. Of that list, I don't think Baker's disposal is good enough and for him to become a realistic option he needs to get a lot better in that area. Howes is very light on at the moment, so I would be surprised to see him play much this season, especially early in the year. Rosman looks like the most likely to get a crack on the wing next should we need to shuffle things around. Edit - I think we could also add ANB to that list, as he absolutely has the running ability to play the role.
  12. I love when supporters say stuff like, oh if the Dees lost Petracca, Oliver and Gawn they would miss the finals. Wow thanks for that amazing insight. If we take the best 3 sides out of any side they are going to struggle big time, there aren't many players of their calibre going around. I still actually think if Gawn went down we would be ok with Jacko rucking and then another as the back up anyway.
  13. I like that we have a hard draw. We actually had a fairly tough draw last year and beat every team in the top 8. If we finish top 4 we have earnt it and it gets us ready for the real thing. Having an easy draw can be a negative, as you think you are better than you actually are and then get found out against the best sides.
  14. Will we ever play the Eagles in Melbourne again? Or have we just been pigeon holed as playing them in WA every year?
  15. I see Dogga's personal trainer will be working with Woewodin, Van Rooyen and McVee in Perth. I'd say given the timing they will all be coming over to Melbourne after Chrissy due to border restrictions. Different world we live in, but it is amazing how much young players are being trusted to do the work. Wouldn't imagine this would be the case 20 years ago.
  16. Removing skinfold tests is really making it tough to see who is and isn't in shape......
  17. He did the same last off-season. He is an absolute unit now as well. Put on quite a bit more size.
  18. I think this is the scary thing for other sides. For the first 15-16 rounds of the season we were still working out our forward line and struggled to kick big scores, but our defence was so good it didn't matter as we would win by 20-30 points by keeping sides to 60 and under. But once Ben Brown got fit and worked his way into our system our forward dynamic really improved, to the point where we kicked 93, 125 and 140 in the finals. With our forward line now pretty much worked out we should expect to be kicking bigger scores for most of the season.
  19. In my view the 3 locks for top 4 are Dees, Port and Lions. History shows that sides who are beaten easily in a GF often drop off the year after, so I'm holding out on calling them Dogs a lock for top 4. I think the Cats will drop out of the top 4, and while they should still sneak into the 8 there is a huge fall coming soon - could it be this season? Tigers will get back into the 8, but I don't think they have the depth and talent to go all the way anymore. Over the last 2 seasons they have lost Brandon Ellis, Bachar Houli, David Astbury, Mabior Chol, Jack Higgins & Oleg Markov. Plus guys like Reiwoldt, Cotchin and Edwards are well into their 30's. Both Essendon and Sydney will have to back up their form from 2021 and that isn't always easy for up and coming sides. I think at least one of them will drop out of the 8. Final 8 prediction (pre finals): 1. Port Adelaide 2. Melbourne 3. Brisbane 4. Western Bulldogs 5. Geelong 6. GWS 7. Richmond 8. Essendon
  20. This is why the system can be dangerous for clubs. Both the dogs and Pies burnt so many picks for one player and then have not a whole lot else. Personally I prefer having Van Rooyen and Howes as opposed to Mac Andrew and then Woewodin.
  21. 100% agree. Langdon was just shrewd recruiting. Paying top dollar is what the Saints gave for Brad Hill to run around having 10 touches a game.
  22. Would love a break down of the clubs age demographic heading into next season is that is easily done?
