Welcome to Demonland: Jacob Van Rooyen

Well I'd put Hibbo on Dusty. I'd make sure Petracca only takes set shots and I'd give Willie a bottle of gatorade prior to the game. Problem solved. -
Welcome to Demonland: Jacob Van Rooyen

This list is a bit misleading as you've decided to not include guys like: Tom McDonald - 194cm Charlie Curnow - 192cm Dan McStay - 196cm Jack Darling - 191cm Taylor Walker - 194cm Jack Reiwoldt - 195cm Brody Mihocek - 192cm They all have had great impacts on games of football -
Pretty pi$$ poor in my mind. Deserved to be challenged on the ground the tackle was not unreasonable given the circumstances.

I'm pretty sure there was another run down tackle that happened last year resulting in concussion that was overturned. Pretty sure it was Mitch Duncan who was tackled, but can't remember who the tackler was. Hope we go to the tribunal.

Gawny has brought it up a few times lately.... looks like he is enjoying making Gus squirm. -
Angus Brayshaw Re-Signs Until 2028
DistrACTION Jackson replied to Demonland's topic in Melbourne Demons
Just read that Carlton are now into Amon & Brayshaw.... Given the amount they have spent on blokes like Jack Martin, Adam Saad and Zac Williams it would amaze me if they have much salary cap.... Must be going back to the old brown paper bag days. -
I actually love the 4:35pm timeslot. Can have lunch in Richmond, have a few beers and then head to the G. Then game is finished by 7pm so still get another few hours out or can get home by 8pm rather than 11pm. It makes sense to hold a Grand Final at this timeslot as you will get more viewers on TV and the overall spectacle will be better with light shows etc. I understand the traditional views, but this is where the AFL is headed and the more money to grow the game the better.

Yeah 100% agree. Hopefully we go out and find a development ruckman, either from another club or through the draft. I know we signed Chandler last year, but wouldn't be surprised if he seeks a trade at the end of the year and we may be fine to do it to free up cap. Oskar Baker will likely be delisted. Assume we will keep Deakyn Smith, AMW, McVee all on the list. Wonder if they will also look at a new deal for Steve May to spread out is salary and add extra cap space.
-
Well I'd say Hibbo and Melksham will retire at years end. Not sure what they are both on salary terms but will free up a little bit cap. Majak Daw may also retire, but he wouldn't be on much and we would have to find a back up ruckman somewhere.

MFC Rebranding for Indigenous Round

How good was that! Love what this club is doing and the way we conduct ourselves. So proud to be a Dees fan and will be for life. -
Membership Tally 2022
DistrACTION Jackson replied to george_on_the_outer's topic in Melbourne Demons
In a recent interview Pert mentioned there is 12,000 MCC members who identify as supporting the Dees but don't have the reciprocal membership. If we can get all of those setup as members we suddenly have 70,000.... -
Surprised Trent Rivers isn't in your best 22. I think he is very important to our structure and has the ability to play on both smalls and mediums. In my opinion he is in the side and one of Jordon or Sparrow is the medi-sub.

I've got that guy tattooed now, except he is holding the premiership cup instead of a ball!

Have liked what I've seen of him for Casey this year. Hopefully the club are keeping an eye on him and may potentially draft him, either as a mid to late pick or even rookie draft. Can't find much about him online, keen to know his height etc.
-
I disagree with people potting Tom McDonald for taking that mark. If you watch the replay he never took his eyes off the ball, so wouldn't have known exactly where he was. If he let it go and it wasn't long enough there is every chance it bounces short of the line and goes left or right and hits the post. He then went and apologised to Harmesy and explained it straight after.

I think you will actually find Maginess is even worse....

I don't get why people are up in arms about the medical sub? I think it has been a decent initiative to try not disadvantage a side as best as possible on game day, especially if you lose someone in the early parts of the game. The media seem to be obsessed with it and think teams are manipulating the rule, when the evidence suggests that isn't the case. I remember listening back to commentary from the grand final of Healy and Cornes talking about how Melbourne should use the sub to bring on a runner and that's why the rule is stupid. Well the outcome was neither team used the sub as it isn't in the spirit of the game, proving that media people are actually out of touch on this issue. I think one tweak they could make to help clear up any thought of manipulation is making someone who is subbed out ineligible to play the following week. Pretty easy fix in my mind.

Have heard most of the rain will be over night and early morning.
-
Yeah so that's what I was explaining. If a team gets a free for for out of bounds that are +1, however the player that kicked it out doesn't get a free against, so they are 0.
-
I've got a feeling out on the full is a free kick for but not against...
-
Don't stress. He will sign for at least 2 years.

Membership Tally 2022

100% agree. Plus there is also isolation required for close contacts, even if they are testing negative on RATs. My GF had Covid during the Bombers game and I had already had it 2 months prior, plus was testing negative to RATs. But due to the rules I couldn't go to the game.... -
After listening to Gus and Gawny I think Petty is a genuine chance to return this week. Also 100% in the camp of resting Trac if his knee is worse this week than it has been and would like to see Bedford get a full game. Ins: Petty & Bedford Out: Trac & Tommo
