CASEY: RD 11 vs Collingwood VFL
Fuullarton has definitely shown better intent today. Think they would have given him a wack for his desire

CASEY: RD 11 vs Collingwood VFL
Does anyone know if a player is named on the field for Casey does that mean they are a definite to not play afl? If so, I’m pretty disappointed Kolt won’t be playing Monday. It would also mean the likey changes are Billings in for Hunter and JVR in for Turner. Would mean they aren’t making any other changes after a 90 point loss 🤯

Ned Moyle
Showed some good signs tonight! Was beaten well early but fought back. Still think he needs another year developing in 2025, but will be fully ready to go in 2026. if he plays with Gawny he will learn about the level of fitness required to be the best.

Can we throw the sink at LDU?

That's exactly right. Collingwood have shown they don't value ruckman, if I'm Tim Lamb I'd be mentioning how much value we do put in ruckman.

I think we will be very active in this off-season and we will have to be! We've already heard of a number of targets such as Ryan Angwin, Ned Moyle & Josh Battle. I also really hope we are going hard for Davies-Uniacke if he is considering leaving, given we lost Brayshaw from our midfield. Given the likely departures of Brown, Tomlinson & Joel Smith, plus the potential retirement of McDonald (not a guarantee), we should have a decent amount of salary cap space to chase multiple players. If we were to get all of the above and keep our first round pick that would be a great way to replenish our list on the run. This would essentially be a mini-rebuild and would lower the overall age of our list given LDU is 24, Moyle 22, Battle is 25 and Angwin is 21. I know this is probably a fanciful scenario, but I really hope Lamb and the team go hard.

I think both Mcadam and Petty need to go back to Casey. Petty should go play down back there and get some form. JVR hopefully will come in and I think it's time to give Fullarton a run as the ruck/forward. Hunter will also be out and I'd like to see the Kolt come in as the pressure forward role and Langdon back to the wing. Hard to see many more than 3 changes though.

POSTGAME: Rd 12 vs Fremantle
Not trying to make excuses, just posing the thought out there. I think the biggest issue is we have Petty, Oliver & McAdam all who have had a limited preseason and struggling to have an impact on the game. Our best forward pressure player is now required to play through the midfield due to our lack of footspeed. I think the other thing is our list isn't built for the high speed turnover game that teams like Collingwood and Sydney are playing with their elite foot skills and speed. We just have to get back to what we are good at, focusing on a forward half game until we have the right balance of players.

CASEY: Rd 10 vs Coburg
9 tackles for the Kolt.... surely he gets another call up to try and add some pressure in the forward half this week? I know everyone is getting stuck into Fullarton and I didn't watch the whole game, but would we be better if he played second ruck to allow JVR to only play at full forward?

POSTGAME: Rd 12 vs Fremantle
Multiple years of finals and late starts to preseasons catching up to us? It is almost better to have a year out of finals, have a full break over the offseason and get a 2-3 week head start on the other finalists. Plus you also get an easier draw in theory. Not saying I want the club to miss finals, just a thought.

AMW!
The media do the same thing. It isn't fun talking about Melbourne making another finals series, but if we talk about how an up and coming team can make it let's do that.
