  1. The sad thing for Mac Andrew is we would be the perfect club for him to come and develop under. He would learn off Maxy and Jacko and be ready to step up in 3-4 years.
  2. If you go back to 2016 he said almost identical things about the Tigers and I'd recommend you all try find this and have a read. It is actually now a good thing for Buckenara to not rate you, as you will likely win the flag the next year. He is honestly a complete joke of a list analyst and has no clue.
  3. My view on this off-season is there is no position we are in need of, however depth is going to be very important over the next 2-3 years. I am not really sold on trading for Cerra, as I think our midfield group of Oliver, Petracca, Viney, Brayshaw, Langdon, Sparrow & Jordon is as good as any going around. It will also potentially make it harder to keep Jackson, Pickett and Rivers if our cap is taken up and they are just as important to our side as bringing in Cerra would be. I think we need to go and find a few 28-30 year olds who are willing to take a pay cut to come chase a flag. Will allow us to manage our salary cap, while also building strong depth in the event of an injury to key players. The draft we should be taking best available at all picks and I'd like to see us find a solid back up ruck option.
  4. I'm finally on! I kept struggling to login over the last month, but have now finally rememerbed my password! What an amazing feeling it was to witness the greatest 50 minutes of football, not only of Demons history but potentially the greatest 50 minutes ever played by a side. It still feels a little surreal, but I am just so happy to have witnessed a premiership, even though I was stuck in my house! Ordered my first bit of memorabilia today..... my bank account will be in strife over the next month or two.
  5. Thought Viney's attitude looked poor all day tbh. Gave Harmes a spray when he went for the torp on the half time siren, but in the first quarter he completely burnt Trac.
  6. Good thing we used a heap of picks the last few years..... I don't think draft picks are that important to us at the moment. We need to continue to bolster our list with ready made players and add to the depth to have multiple cracks at the flag.
  7. That area has been booming though, so probably won't be a massive difference soon. I'm pretty sure Barwon Heads area went up 20-30% in the last 12 months.
  8. There are measures in place now though. The team must then take the player nominated with their next pick based on the points system, less a discount I believe of 25%. It is much fairer than the old system that saw Geelong pick up blokes like Hawkins, Scarlett and Ablett with picks in the 40's and 50's. Every team has benefited at different times with the F/S rule, remember getting Viney with a pick in the 20's? I love the F/S rule and want it to continue as it is what makes our game unique. Not a huge fan of the acadmies though, however I do see the purpose in not football states like Queensland and NSW.
  9. After Goody's presser and comments about Pickett's pressure numbers I recall my earlier statement. Still believe we need Brown in ASAP if he is now fit, as we need to sort this forward line out before finals and even before the last few weeks when we play Dogs and Cats. Brown in and Sparrow out
  10. Given we will likely lose a bit of experience this year, I'd like to see the club seek out a few older players happy to take a pay cut for a crack at a flag. Likely outs: Jones, Jetta, Baker, vandenBerg, Nietschke, Bradtke & Smith. Potential options: Seedsman, Sidebottom, Breust, Billings, Gunston plus I'm sure there are more. Also look to add Maynard and a few draftees and we are set for another crack in 2022.
  11. Definitely don't think Jordon will be better than Jackson long term, but I do think he is having a more consistent season for 2021.
  12. I'm thinking we give Pickett another week off and then bring him back fresh for the Port game. He looked really tired against the Bombers and we want him cherry ripe come September. In: Ben Brown & Bedford Out: Sparrow (stiff) & Pickett
  13. I don't mean this disrepectfully, but hopefully never. He is there for depth only and will play if Gawn or another back goes down....
  14. I think we should give Quinton Narkle a crack. Hopefully take advantage of Geelong's desire to top up with 30+ year olds and nab a guy who otherwise would be in their best 22. Has shown good signs at times and maybe a change of scenery would help.
  15. I'd be happy with Weed out and Viney in. I think we will spank the Bombers on Saturday, and I'm usually a pessimistic supporter....
  16. If it gets weeks for this I'll be very disappointed. We can't be suspending players for playing the ball, even if there is an accidental injury. I heard Gerard and Robbo suggesting that he may have attacked the ball with too much speed..... are they f'ing serious? Imagine if the AFL bring in a ruling that you can't run too fast at the ball.... how ridiculous. Even in less contact sport like basketball people get injured, it is just a part of any sport unforutnately.
  17. I remember watching him v the Kangas VFL side and I'm fairly sure I posted about the way he was playing from behind, rather than leading at the ball. Now he is playing at a much higher level and that type of play just doesn't work. He needs to work on his running and leading patterns and work hard to get space on his opponent.
  18. Gawn should play mainly behind the ball and only be used up forward as an impact player every now and then. he is much better at reading and positioning himself in the backline than the forward line.
  19. Not really team change related, but does anyone know what the outcome of Bowey’s injury was? hopefully it isn’t too serious.
  20. Brayshaw's role to the team is being the defensive wingman, which means getting back to help the defence. I think the switch up on the weekend actually hurt him, as he was playing well in his wing role. I don't think highlighting one instant where he made a bad decision is really constructive. We could do that to every player and find certain things they did wrong. It only matters what they are doing on a regular basis.
  21. My team for Saturday. B: Hunt May Lever HB: Salem Petty Hibberd C: Langdon Oliver Brayshaw HF: Pickett McDonald Melksham F: Spargo Brown Fritsch R: Gawn Petracca Jordon Int: Rivers Jackson Sparrow Neal-Bullen Medical sub: Jones Ins: Petty & Sparrow Out: Tomlinson & Baker I think we have to keep rewarding the side that has got us to 7-0, assuming they are all good to go and no one needs to be managed. Baker should only be played if replacing Brayshaw or Langdon as he is a natural winger. Sparrow is the obvious replacement for Viney's role until he is back and same for Petty with Tommo.

For me it is just knowing there is a looooooooong way to go. The Tigers are still the team to beat and by a fair way in my mind and they showed why last weekend. We just have to keep performing consistently to hopefully get a top 4 and then give ourselves a crack at the flag.
  23. Thank god.... one of my favourite podcasts
  24. Some of the potting of the clubs media is a bit ridiculous. They bring out the 'back from hell' video and people complain that they shouldn't have. Go back to normal media and people complain it isn't enough.... I think the stuff they are doing is great.... although I'm concerned there hasn't been a Gus & Gawny podcast this week
  25. It is really hard to get a read on form given how poor the North team were, with their extensive injury list obviously playing a part. The one thing I think that is holding Weideman back at he moment is he tries to play from behind too much. If he does this at AFL level I can see the high quality defenders covering him easily if he does this. I think this is the biggest area that Tmac currently has him covered in. Tmac really launches at the ball and takes it at its highest point, while Weid often tries to push his opponent under the ball rather than jumping at it. I want Weid to be our long-term key forward, just worried that if Tmac keeps him out that he will walk.
