  1. So if we win all our remaining games we should finish top 4...
  2. I agree and I personally think they can work together and did a lot better on the weekend. Let's hope they can carry on that form and take it to the Dogs, who I think struggle when the hit is applied. The Crows put on almost no pressure yesterday, so Dogs had it easy.
  3. I'm not saying we do it, just giving examples. Personally I'd 100% trade Brayshaw for Florent if that was an option. He's absolute class on the outsideand has good leg speed. The other options I probably wouldn't do.
  4. With both Sparrow and Jordon waiting in the wings as potential quality inside mids, I think we should definitely consider trading Brayshaw, but only if it's a genuine win-win and not for a draft pick. We need an instant best 22 outside runner. So looking through teams that need quality on-ballers these are the options I'd consider: Sydney - Oliver Florent straight swap. Would absolutely do this and they need a replacement for Kennedy inside. Essendon - Darcy Parish springs to mind as an outside runner. Prefer Florent but not out of the question. Carlton - Zac Fisher could be an option here, thought I'd want something additional back. Fremantle - Adam Cerra. Hasn't really got going yet at Freo but maybe a move back home will help ignite his career. Saints - in the hunt for another midfielder so may come knocking. Can't see what they can offer as a direct swap other than someone like Hunter Clark but that isn't happening. May need to be a first round pick plus someone like Sinclair. My preference would be in the following order: 1. Florent 2. Parish 3. Cerra 4. Fisher 5. Whatever Saints offer
  5. Exactly. A lot of teams with a heap more injuries than us. He's an 18 year old rucking in a compressed season. Unfortunately this type of thing happens. Just have to make sure he gets his rehab right and give himself a shot at playing finals should we make it.
  6. Oscar McDonald? I'll be pretty disappointed if we delist him with no mature key tall coming in to replace him.
  7. I'd say that likely to go will be: Corey Wagner Aaron Nietschke Josh Wagner Kade Kolo Nathan Jones Kyle Dunkley So depending on list sizes we may need to find 6 new players or potentially 3-4
  8. So playing in the VFL to work on your craft is not development? Back in the day kids would have to earn their stripes in the reserves before playing seniors.
  9. No doubt there will be 2-3 players who need a rest given the condensed fixture. Hard to say who goes out at this stage, but if Gawn and Viney are fit they are automatic sections. Lockhart as well probably based on his form this year as a stopper.
  10. Agree. Is he a free agent? If not it would like take a first round pick to get him.
  11. I think it's the Hawks 2nd round pick
  12. Add Rivers and Spargo. That's 5 guys 20 or under.
  13. Love what Langdon brings, but butler probably best recruit so far. I've heard Tom Phillips may be gettable. Imagine him on the other wing....
  14. We need to make our wealth of midfielders a strength not a weakness. This is up to the coaching team to work out the best structure for this and it seemed it worked better against the Crows. If the midfield coaches can't get it right then they need to be moved on for someone better.
  15. Zac Williams. Let's go get him please.
  16. I was chatting with a good mate of mine and we both believe that in every centre bounce we need 2 more inside players and 1 more outside player. Our thoughts on rotations would be: Inside mids - Viney, Oliver, Petracca & Harmes More outside - Brayshaw, Salem, Pickett, Melksham & Bennell We are too predictable so I would like to see more variety in our centre bounces
  17. I'd rather us play Rivers or Jordon than Jones at this point. Offers us absolutely nothing. I will always admire and be grateful to him for his role at the club in the darkest days, but he is no longer up to it.

Jacko will be fine. He will beef up after 1 or 2 more pre-seasons.

The problem is we don't have enough strings to our bow, other than a strong inside mid group. If the inside mid group is down then we struggle, last night being a prime example. What we are missing: 1. Leg speed - The tigers would probably have 3 or 4 players that are quicker than our quickest. 2. Pressure forwards - Fritsch, Hannan and Melksham are too similar. We should only be playing 2 of these three. 3. Precision kicking - I'd say the only players that are above average kicks are Pickett, Salem and Bennell. You could potentially throw in Fritsch and Rivers but they are borderline. We need to trade out one of our mids and get a quality outside runner. We also need to look at drafting another high pressure forwardto compliment Pickett. Too many holes to fix this season, but one good off season and another pre-season into Pickett, Rivers and Jacko will go a long way to getting this list up to scratch. We've shown we can do it when we belted the Hawks. But once top sides pressure us we go to water.
  20. A lot of sexual innuendo there... they seem like a more scarred bunch than Demonland!
  21. Gawn and Brayshaw on the podcast both getting stuck into the Hun saying it is accurate either.
  22. Only change I can see is potentially Bennell who looked like he may need a week off. Obviously there may be other players who pull up sore and assume Tomlinson, TMac, Sparrow, ANB and Rivers to be in the frame if this happens.
  23. The most frustrating thing is it happened to us all game and then I believe late in the 4th we did a similar thing and the umps decided to pay a free kick. There's no consistency at the moment and the AFL know it but have no idea what to do. The game is a complete schamozzle at the moment and is an eye sore and all the rule changes they brought in the last few years have made it worse. Both Gil and Hocking should go.
  24. Fritsch did well in the first bit to hold up the play a little but he let it go on way too long. I was yelling at the screen telling him to give the ball back and he just kept milking it. It was the right call and very undisciplined play.
  25. It will go nowhere because it is Hawthorn and the AFL wouldn't want to investigate one of their biggest clubs. Happy to pick on the minnows but too soft to go after the whales.
