I don't think the issue is extending their contracts, it is more the offering of extra years to reduce it in the years currently held. The idea would be they have to pay the same amount as the current contract and then can re-negotiate the additional years.

I'd be very happy with one of Hollands, Phillipou or George at 13/14.

I'd much prefer to go Keeler ahead of Jefferson if we wanted a key position player. Looks to have more weapons and as he fills out and hones his craft could be anything. Just not sure if he would be a reach at 13/14 though? Wonder if we have a number in mind and may have a team open to swapping out of this year and into next year's draft. Could be a move we make on the night.

I like the sound of Oliver Hollands at 13 (probably 14) if he's available. Could also entice his brother back in the future as well.

Multiple picks also will give us a good opportunity to move higher up the board dealing with any academy/fs picks. Pretty sure the suns have a few academy players next year, so they may need points rather than draft position.

I was thinking we will probably look to fill one rookie spot with either a developing ruckman or a mature one as break glass back up.

God I would love to head to the G and watch us smash them by 100 points and just look smugly at their supporters

Yeah seems a bit weird that one. Personally I think he would improve our best 22 as another link up player with good kicking skills and outside run, which we lack.

I wonder why the Hunter deal is only a 'hail mary'. Is it because of the Dogs or us? Seems like it may be a win win for both clubs, unless the dogs really don't want to let him go.

The Gold Coast deals are a blight on the AFL. If I was Gil I'd be pretty annoyed that they have basically had to throw away picks and players after they were given pick packages not long ago. That 'club' is an embarrassment to the game.

If we trade Weid it's worth a crack. There's no other half decent key position players available and we've already said we are only using 2 draft picks plus I assume upgrading Chandler to the primary list. I'm also all for getting Hunter if it means we can delist Baker, he is horrid.

Maybe hinges on if we trade for someone like Hunter.

No chance they would do that.

We must have another trade in the works for a key position player or ruck. If not, I will be extremely disappointed in the club if we go into next season with only Gawn and Grundy as genuine ruck options and no back up.

So at this stage our key forward ruck options will be Gawn, Grundy, McDonald, Brown and JVR. Not great depth. A couple of injuries and we will be back to playing Melksham as the 2nd tall....

I think he will personally. Needs to go away and get himself super fit though. He looks like he carries a bit extra, so think if he slims down slightly his speed and running will improve.

True, but we may be able to use that to get further up the board to pick up a Sheezel or Cadman. Given we would expect to have a pick around 15-18 as our first next year it may be worth it.
