  1. Back six - built a wall
  2. Did we job one of the umps sisters and not call them the next day? Screw it. It tastes sweeter beating 26
  3. Computer. It's always been fine. I can't get footy on the radio here. Just bum sniffers
  4. WTF? AFL match centre is down. FFS I live in country NSW and get maybe 2 weekends out of 8 off to actually listen / watch the footy and I pick a day that there is no TV and the internet radio is down. FML
  5. Geelong has the best last q differential in the league by a mile. Didn't help them much last night (although two straighter kicks right at the start of the q might have changed things)
  6. Doc "Jack, have you been playing sore and not telling us?" Viney "Nah, mate. Why do you ask?" Doc "Because your leg fell off 20 mins into the 1st q" Viney "Aww, it's alright. It will grow back" Doc "No it won't" Viney "It's OK. I ripped Ollies leg off in the 2nd and have it in my kit just in case. He seems to kick all right, so I can run out the game OK"
  7. To church, my sinful child
  8. The Donald Trump school of senior management... The one that porked the rugby union fellas misses will probably be hearing footsteps for a few years. Those union boys can throw a punch, and don't seem to notice the ones coming back.
  9. Not like I'm gonna get that chance (damn you GC for dafting me!) but I'd like to think I wouldn't lower my head to let him put it on me. I'd put out my hand and put it on myself.
  10. He's not innocent, but one against 30 is boring, especially when it's easier to let him bounce in his bubble. In a slightly offbeat way he reminds me a little of my dear deceased nana. My dear old church going, cake baking, garden loving nana, who loved the MFC more than anything else in her life. When I was about ten years old I saw her round on a bunch of twenty something year old Collingwood blokes on the train home from Jolimont. The poor buggers were doing nothing more than talking about the game and said that one of their players had taken one of ours to the cleaners (2017 speak - something like 'Geez Elliot played well today. Melksham didn't seem to know what to do with him and looked rattled all day'). Completely innocent. Well, she rounded on them, this sweet church going nana: 'You mongrels only won because you are a bunch of thugs! That's all you've ever been! You've never won a game fairly in your life! All you so and so's (she liked that word when she was angry) are good for is belting players that are better that you...' and so on. It was pretty awesome. Don't you ever say a bad thing about her boys. Geez she would have loved this place. She either would have been perma banned or made a mod.
  11. Relax. The mods have this. But seriously, they really do. I am a member of a lot of forums, some really well modded, some ok, and some badly, and I think this place has worked it out the best. There is leeway: football is an emotional game. People get fired up if their favourite player is bagged or somebody defends their whipping boy. It's understood and accepted, but there is a line. The line: When arguments degenerate into name calling and idiocy the posters are given a rap over the knuckles and told to pull their heads in. The posts are also quickly deleted to stop the 'third man in' from seeing it later and picking up the argument again. The slaps: if the combatants or others want to continue the blue in that thread then the thread is locked and people given a good foot up the arse, the severity of which depends generally on the history of the posters (mostly) or in some cases a particular post that went way over the line. Small bans for those that need to know that they are heading down the wrong path. Medium bans for those that don't seem to get that they aren't just crossing the line, but are starting to [censored] on it, and perma bans for those that have no interest in following even basic civility. I've modded and admin'ed forums, and I can tell you that striking the line between letting people vent or tell another poster that they think they are a scrawling abortion and an idiot so stupid they make stupid idiots look smart, and the need to be able to step in at the right moment and stop that without losing good posters, is bloody hard. And that's just as one person. It gets a lot bloody harder when you have 3,4,5,6 people doing it and all of them have different ideas on where the lines are. Here, it seems to me, that the staff are all on the same page, and I haven't seen much in the way of inconsistency since that trumped up Hitler Rhino got the boot. That's a pretty good effort. There is one personal bugbear that I do have here when it comes to personal attacks, and that is the constant and unrelenting attacks on Saty. I'm sure some people no longer read his posts, but instead see the username and immediately go into attack dog mode. Yes he is a pain in the bum with his delusion that coaches and players give him secret inside information. Yes, he is a pain in the bum when he defends players that everyone else can see are running around like headless chooks. Yes, his talk of sunshine and rainbows when all we can see is rainclouds make many of us want to bang our heads on our keyboards. BUT - the man is one of the most one eyed demon supporters I've seen. He loves his team to the nth extreme, and will not listen to anything that dares suggest that every player on our list is a superstar in the making; that all our coaches are tactical geniuses that make Alexander the Great look like a lolligagger; and that our recruiters have just given us a couple of Don Bradmans of football with our rookie picks. I wish I could believe like he does. Unfortunately most of us have had cynic beaten into us. Let him go. Let him enjoy his club. A lot of what he says is good oil, you just have to ignore the sprinkles.
  12. Most of the players there would come under the category of 'if they are fit then they play' I left Vince and Lewis off purely because old man time can sometimes creep up very quickly, but if they play as they played this year then, yes, locks. I left Omac and Frost off purely because of the body of work that would make them locks isn't quite there yet, but the they have been very good recently and if they continue to grow as they have then only injury will keep them out of the team. Unsure about Oliver. He does some nice things but I'd like to see Goody pressure him to step up and get another 10-15 possessions a quarter.
  13. Are you insane? The guy is a cheating [censored] and shouldn't be allowed anywhere near a football field. Ever. The only good I can see coming out of this is that the shade of Norm Smith decides he has had enough of cursing us and puts it on those turds instead.
  14. Called a forum. People offer opinions. Some right. Some wrong. Some in between. I expect the anti bat phone to be ringing now
  15. Just seems a millimeter away from putting together the perfect game. You just know that one day soon it will all come together and the world will go wow! (and the few Saints that aren't crying yet will begin to). A young Darren Jarman IMO
  16. With 41,000 of us don't you think we can give them a big enough shove to push them off?
  17. I would have thought the time that would have been spent on the plane and going to and from airports - 9-10 hours would be better spent in rehab or resting... but what do I know?
  18. Cocaine and hooker party... Pretty much a normal Saturday night.
  19. I'm enjoying it. Beats the crap out of being on the receiving end of bad games. Balls to the rest of the comp. The more the opp fans and media hate us and want to bring us down, the bigger my smile gets. And I love that we have a team of angry young men. Just gotta harness it, but I reckon Goody and co will get that right.
  20. Didn't Trenners smack through a point against them to win us a game in 2011 or around then? Or was that Port? I get confused. All those bloody foreigners look the same.
  21. Needs to be altered to show the Bugg hit
  22. Not by me. Loved the shrug and the afterburners. Belief in himself when everything was on the line. I'm really loving the trade deal that got us him, ANB and Omac.
  23. I knew they were out watching on the TV, but I didn't realise just how out they were. Nev loses that one on one and they could have strolled in and raffled the goal.
