I like Jack, and hope he somehow stays, but that seems very unlikely. However he was told at the start of the year that he must meet certain conditions... and he didn't. He was told again mid year... and he didn't. Then he gets told to look elsewhere and is shocked. Yes the media play out is ugly, but, sheeeit, what do you do? Do we want Clarry or Trac to ever think that coasting is OK. We aren't (or at least shouldn't be) the boys club of the 2000's. That was a dead end street. Put in or [censored] off. It's that simple.

I was trying to be kind... he played one more game at AFL level than I did, and all that... looking back I can't. I don't remember seeing him do anything good. He is going to be that annoying has been that bails you up in the pub and says how he could have been a premiership player if only... (if only he was a good player). Picks are waaaaaay over-rated. And two years is a long time. Hell, 6 months can be a long time. You keep what you have until you don't want them anymore or you can get something better. I don't see either of those conditions being met today.

You went into the finals series as the best team by some way, but you couldn't help let your arrogance get the better of you in round 23, and instead of worrying about your destiny, you used... what you thought... was your lock as the best of 2017 to try and shape the finals. I hope it hurts for 100 years.

I've been waiting all game to see some sort of game plan from Adelaide. Might get to see it in the last Q when Richmond is 50pts up and doing laps of honour... but geez. They have put in a shocker. No plan, no forward line, no idea.

Seems more a fire sale than aggressive trading. Lever and / or Gaff will get done with what we have, or possibly with Watts or Kent in the deal, and both of those seem to be on the table already.

If they can get something for him, and free up money, then I reckon they win. He's cooked. He's hurt more than he is fit, and has maybe 2018 and a bit of 2019 left in him.

We missed a golden chance. His cool head (or even a loose punch) would have been worth 5 goals in a final. Lets hope he can pass in on to the kids next year before he leaves the game.

Agreed. #10 and second round pick swap. Or #10 and Kent. I think he has it in him to be a very handy player, but it's not working here for whatever reason. Maybe Adelaide can see something similar in him, and back themselves to make it happen. I don't want us out of the first round of the 2018 draft. It's said to be big, and if nothing else the pick could be gold when next year's trade season comes around.

Early - mid season we probably would have won, or lost in a close one. In post WCE game we would have lost by 10 goals. Maybe it's best we are spectators.

Oh please! We lost our mojo after the WCE win. Part of it was injuries, and part of it the travel and short breaks, but lets face it - how many 4 q games did we play all year? Footscray is one... other than that we relied on bursts to overcome flat spots. By and large it worked, but then again it cost us a lot of winnable games and a lot of gettable %. We aren't a side that was ever really out of games in 2017, but we were also a side that was always a quick burst away from losing them either. Too many cameo players in the later half of the year, and not enough discipline or maturity to apply the brakes when things went against us. It hurts... but only a little. After the North game I could see that we weren't half the team that beat Adelaide, and that at least half our list needed to play solid 20 touch games each week, rather than 30 one week and ten another, to be any sort of threat in September. Done properly it can be built on over summer, so I hand it to the coaches to now make that happen.

Bloody hell. Do you hide under a rock until this time of year, just to come out and throw sand into the machine? Seriously. Lift your game.
